Chapter One is a fantastic place to dine. The food is amazing. The menu offers a good variety of options. The service is outstanding, with attentive and knowledgeable staff who make sure you have a great dining experience. The restaurant has a classy and comfortable ambiance that sets the perfect mood for a meal. One thing to note is that the prices are slightly higher than expected for the portion sizes. My recent visit to Chapter One restaurant in Mystic, CT, left me extremely disappointed and frustrated. The service was incredibly slow and disorganized. Our food was brought out one dish at a time, over the course of a staggering 20 minutes. It was incredibly frustrating to watch as my wife received her food after we had already decided to leave because we had been waiting for almost an hour. To make matters worse, when my daughter's order finally arrived, it was completely wrong. It was clear that there was a lack of attention to detail and proper communication between the staff members. The overall presentation of the dishes was lackluster, and to my surprise, some of the tableware was dirty. I have seen better tableware standards in neglected Denny's restaurants.

Our server was lovely and attentive. Unfortunately, the Filet Benedict that two of us ordered was disappointing. While prepared well and super tasty, the amount of steak was comical. The tiny drizzle of very sweet Hollandaise sauce was odd. We were happy to receive more sauce upon request, but it was so strangely sweet that it was barely palatable for me. The broccoli I ordered was bright and al dente so I loved it. Credit to the cook who prepared our poached eggs—they were flawless. My husband’s brunch burger was reportedly delicious. We’ll dine here again, but order steak and eggs next time.

We specifically went to Chapter One for the Sunday brunch menu. When we arrived there was no one in the dining room and they had just opened. We had a reservation for 10:30. We ordered the carafe of mimosas and our food. The waitress returned to tell us they were out of prosecco. The food was good but the toast was not hot and served with a side of butter (nice touch) but it was so cold you could not spread it. The Chapter One omelet was tasty and the potatoes thoroughly cooked but heavy with paprika. I was very disappointed that they didn't have the brunch essentials-prosecco.

We wouldn't go back. Food was average at best. There are several better options available in walking distance. French fries tasted like they were from a frozen bag and not fresh. Kid's ice cream had freezer burn. For the price and location, go elsewhere.

Something for everyone on the menu. For the picky eater you can rely on the burgers and sandwiches, the seafood lover has plenty of options, and even the sides are large enough for 3 or 4 people to share. Great spot!

Outstanding from start to finish! Prompt friendly service, our server Miranda was great! Really nice upscale casual vibe!! Had the dark chocolate martini which was amazing. We ordered the NY strip steak, spicy chicken pasta and scallop risotto and shared the a Caprese salad and Brussels sprouts. Every bite was simply delicious! Can’t wait to go back!

My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Chapter One. There was a bar crawl going on so it was a little loud, but fun. The cobb salad was great, as was the salmon we topped it with. The brussels sprouts and truffle fries were amazing!

The food was good. i had a hamburger and asked for well done but was closer to medium, but no problem. The music was a little depressing, and the waitress sounded disappointed that we did not enter a 3 course meal. It was alittle pricey, but not like the casinos. my wife probably would not go back but i would for a special occasion.

The restaurant was CLOSED for the week. We went to mystic for an early valentines parents getaway. We had multiple reservations but picked chapter one as we liked the menu. We cancelled 2 other reservations just to find a sign on the door of chapter one saying they were closed. There was nothing mentioned of this on their website. As busy of an area as downtown mystic is they really should have let people know or not have been taking reservations on open table

We wanted to change up our brunch spot and try something new...It was a disappointment. At first glance the walls and some of the furniture was very worn apparently at night it turns into a club. They where out of several things that was on the menu because they were going to close for a deep clean and need to to "Get Rid" of what they had (Waitress needs more coaching on this topic). Once our orders came 2 of the orders where cold so they had to remake it and my food was warm but not a lot of flavor, just a little salt and pepper (basics) would have made a difference. Unfortunately, this was probably my 3rd time at this restaurant in the 5 years I've lived in Mystic. I wanted to give it another try and it just disappointed yet again. I'm done!

The server was the best ever, Kirby!!! So patient, knowledgeable, helpful and efficient, The drinks were mixed perfectly including a well balanced "mocktail" which was not sweet. The food was well presented, very flavorful and good-sized portions. Definitely will be back as I'm sure everyone else that was there which is why is was so busy. Manager was hands on and charming who obviously knew his stuff. Thank you.

We had a great table by the window. I ordered a pumpkin spice martini. So good! Our waitress was very sweet and polite. I ordered a mushroom Swiss burger with fries. The burger was delicious. I can honestly say those we the best French fries I’ve ever had!
