This restaurant apparently permanently closed two weeks ago. There is no indication that they closed on OpenTable or on the restaurant’s website. We showed up to find it dark and locked up. Very disappointing that there as no notification that it had closed.

It closed for business the day or (or day before) our reservation. Common courtesy would have been to call reservations and let them know. Instead I got the “please confirm “ email from open table. Poor form

First time here. Food was delicious--but pricey. Maybe a bit too pricey for what we got. But service was great--very attentive and the space is lovely. I think warmer weather and seating outside would be even better as we were placed behind a pillar in the middle of the restaurant (not desirable but okay). We'll come back again and do a non-tasting menu next time to compare.

The host did a good job seating us in a nice spot, the ambiance was pleasant and the live music was excellent. Unfortunately however we received very poor service. The waiter had little knowledge of the menu; drinks were late, forgotten and not served together; one entree was incorrect, causing a member of our party of five to eat after everyone else was done; multiple attempts were made to clear plates early; and water was spilled several times with no attempt to clean it up. The food was just fair, well below expectations. Needless to say we left without ordering dessert.

My wife and I tried Cultivar for New Year's Eve dinner. I have been many times for drinks/apps at their bar but this was our first dinner. The atmosphere was good an energetic but they had a three piece band that was just a tad to loud for the room. It made talking difficult. We both thought the food was good as we had the tasting menu, although the wine pairing option was not great. The pairings, in my opinion, did not highlight the food and they were very average selections at best.

First time eating there and a mix bag.. I had a salad the greens were great the dressing okay. There were raw seeds that felt like pieces of sand. The meat and cheese appetizer was excellent. The noice level was very high, hard to have a conversation. The young women who served the wine was really knowledgeable with a friendly personality. Our waiter was efficient, not the warmest waiter we have had. We both had the Halibut my fish was a little dry but my wife said her halibut was very good. So I would say a three out of five . We probably would not rush back.

Holly the hostess was so warm and welcoming. Staff did not hover over us but seemed to arrive at appropriate time for service. The food was beyond outstanding. I could have just grazed on the bread with the fennel infused butter. The ambiance was fun and classy. Bravo chef Dumont! Yes we will be back

The food is very good; lots of interesting items and all tasty. The service not so good. Took 25 minutes even to be recognized and acknowledged and then food seemed to take a long time. Even when delivered, the server placed the food and immediately turned away, not even giving time to ask a question (for extra lemons). Kind of confusing that a hostess appeared to be standing watching all this and just indifferent to the service. That said, the waitress, when she arrived was nice enough and not rude. They seemed very short handed or just maybe clueless. Tough call to recommend because if you are trying to go there for a business lunch it isn't very dependable on timing and sort of embarrassing with a client.

I loves this restaurant. We went for brunch and food is amazing. Definitely try the doughnuts and the hash browns as both were out of this world. Prices were a bit higher than a regular breakfast but not crazy. Food was very fulfilling taste wise and appetite wise. Every Sunday they have live music with the most talented trio of Boston. Great music to accompany your breakfast. Service was also amazing definitely going back again.

After some research on places to eat in Boston for our one night trip we decided to try Cultivar. Everything was “ok”. Food was good, service was good. We left and haven’t discussed the meal or anything since our visit so it didn’t blow us away, it was just good.

This was our third or fourth time at Cultivar. Up to now, we had hoped it would recover the quality it had when it first opened. But we've been disappointed. On this occasion, Thanksgiving, with a small menu, we thought the chef would have an opportunity to display her best. But dishes were heavily sauced and lacked attention to the quality of ingredients. Too bad.

In spite of the other reviews i saw, i went with 2 friends, driving from 2 hours away, full of hope for a cool meal. The food was solid, good but not amazing, but the service is still far from par. Starting with going online to look at the wine list, which listed only 2 reds (I just assumed it was wrong, and it was- they have a decent wine list that could use a bit more variety (2 barberas no dolcetto, that sort of thing)), then ordered a drink that was on the online menu only to be told that the bartender wasn't there when that cocktail was on the list, so s/he didn't know how to make it (a gin fizz- not super exotic). Really? How hard is it to keep the website current? Then, after ordering drinks the wine list was whisked away (i had to ask to retrieve it), and our apps arrived mere seconds after our cocktails did. I wasnt into a Whiskey Sour with my mushroom dish, so i waited. 15 minute wait for the wine to go with the apps (we ordered the wine when they delivered the cocktails to give them a decent interval to retrieve it. Oh, and the first wine we ordered, they didn't have, then was offered a taste of a really mediocre second choice, then selected a third choice, which was in stock and ok. Then had the list whisked away again (stopped her this time), then app plates whipped off the table while one of our party was still EATING hers- like literally fork to mouth and they pulled her plate. Then entrees in an instant, but the wine to go with the entrees 10 minutes later. Then after clearing, coffee, hints like "we're all set, just a check", a good 20-minute wait - one member of the party clutching her purse in front of her as a visual hint... all through the meal it felt like they wanted to turn the table asap, but then the bev service was so out of whack... I'd try it again in a year to see if the kinks are ironed out, but as one member of our group said - "there are so many good options on Boston, why bother?"

My wife and I dined at Cultivar on a recent Saturday, and we were both disappointed. To start, although the restaurant was only half full and we had a reservation, they first attempted to seat us at a table right beside the door - this on a night when the temperature was near freezing. The host seemed surprised when we requested another table, despite the fact that it was later in the evening (7:30) and the place never filled while we were there. Once seated, we felt rushed throughout the meal; our servers did not tell us much about the menu, offer any insight into the drinks (I guess we were supposed to know that it's a "gin bar"), or express any interest except to move us along. They served us bread, which was quite tasty, but minutes later brought out our appetizer that was also mostly bread. The main course was ok, but just ok. My wife's pasta dish was much too heavy on the pasta and too salty, while the short rib that I ordered was tender but bland. I won't return or recommend Cultivar to others.

Overall the experience was good but we were seated next to a family of six with a young child. What I was hoping would be a date night on the quieter side happened to be a little louder than I would have liked. That said, I would give them another shot. The food was great and my girlfriend loved the two cocktails she tried. Service was very good as well.

When I arrived the music and high ceilings were a welcome atmosphere for a Sunday brunch. I sat down and still after 10-15 minutes nobody asked me if I wanted anything. My chair kept getting bumped into by waiters going by. Terrible seating set up. The frittata was totally bland. No flavor at all. Bacon was sitting in pool of grease. Bloody Mary was delicious though. I ordered the bowl of berries and was given a plate with one hard unripened peach with a few berries around it. The service was practically nonexistent throughout the meal. We had to flag down any waiter walking by just to get attention. Thank you

For a high end restaurant the service was atrocious. We arrived on time but were left to wait in the lobby for 15 minutes. Once "summoned" to our table, we were left unattended for another 15 minutes - no requests for drinks, no prompting about the menu, etc. Throughout the evening we had to flag down anyone to help us - refill wine glasses, bring bread, address the delays in bringing out our food. The food was good but not great and all this despite a very expensive menu. Not a repeat in our book.
