One of our favorite go-to’s for special evenings, when we have out-of-towners, or just a super meal. The noise level makes conversation utterly impossible when the restaurant is busy and the music cranked due, largely, to the imaginative hard concrete/metal construction....great use of the old building but makes for ear-numbing din. The menu is beyond imaginative and never, ever disappoints. The lamb shank with magic beans (they must be magic) is to be worshiped. Oh, pretty darned good wine list as well as large portion, calorie laden (that’s a positive in my book) desserts. Two thumbs up.
It’s always a great experience.
Urinals in men restroom stinks, bathroom need attention
I took my boyfriend here for brunch on his birthday. We both found our meal to be extremely underwhelming. He had the Pimento Cheese BLT which barely had any pimento cheese on it. Also, the sandwich came whole on thick sourdough and his knife wouldn't cut it. It was super messy and not very thoughtfully plated. I had the fish and grits and my lima bean succotash was room temperature and undercooked. The people next to us also ordered this dish and I watched them send it back. My Bloody Maria was watery and boring. His Michelada didn't come with all the accoutrement that had been listed on the menu. It was literally a draft of High Life with the smallest amount of bloody mix in it.. for $11. Our server never greeted us or introduced himself, he first came to our table and said "Are you doing okay over here?" We still had menus and hadn't even been spoken to yet so my boyfriend and I were confused and it was super awkward. After dropping off our drinks he never checked on us again. We had to ask the (very friendly) woman who dropped off our food to please get us coffees. I had put on my reservation that it was his birthday and I don't know what their custom is for that, but no one even mentioned it. I'm not looking for a free dessert or anything, but it was clear that our special occasion didn't matter. After all was said and done, our food was okay. But the service and atmosphere in the restaurant just made this way too expensive for the experience we had. I wouldn't recommend it and I think with all the other amazing restaurants in the city, we have no reason to go back.
Ear ringing loud. I just can't return, and that is too bad. The food was delicious but the noise level was nearly off the charts. Envision having dinner during a rock concert...
Food always amazing
Server was inattentive and my wife was almost finished with her entire meal before I got my pancake. Very disappointing service.
I love this place
Service and food were impeccable. Definitely an Atlanta staple.
Most delicious food, the Dem apples drink was amazing, and the ambiance was so nice! Love this place and can’t wait to go back!
I always start with the salmon chips. Empanadas did not disappoint. The brisket was absolutely delicious. Service and ambiance were great.
Cane is a great waiter. He listens, is very thoughtful and makes what is already a good meal a socially pleasurable one as well.
I haven't been to this restaurant in over 10 years but it was just as great as the last time. Great ambience and food.
Met a buddy there. Lots of different options for food, but we chose the brisket and the steak. Great value because I used a "buy one get one free" coupon.
Valet parking is required at the restaurant.
We would go back.
The menu online was different than what was given at the table. The server was distracted and didn’t seem to care about the table. The food was good. Ordered a burger medium came out RAW
Anniversary. Reception host was marvelous!
Outstanding experience. Restaurant is hidden in an old warehouse. Difficult to find.
The food was delicious and the band was good. My server was very attentive.
I enjoyed the overall experience. Only thing that needs improvement is the valet.
Good was great but the valet service was terrible. It took forever to get my car. Only two guys working.
The empanada and salmon chips are a good order. The brisket is tender, but lacking the flavor I’m accustomed to, especially being from Texas. The burlee and pecan are good desserts. The Carmel brownie is not worth it. Live music stays live well past 11:30PM and the aroma of smoked meet gracefully dances around the room enhancing the ambient vibe!
I always enjoy time with hubby. This spot is fantastic! I had 1 bad experience years ago but I am glad we gave it another try.
Had wonderful time. One meal was awesome second not so much. They tried their best to overcome situation, but did not live up to expectations. This was my 4th time here.
Food was totally underwhelming. I would not recommend to anyone.
This was my second time going to TWO and the food was outstanding again. Big portion sizes, even for the price, and especially for the quality. The live music was really really good. My only complaint was the actual "vessel" used to serve the lamb shank entree. It was some sort of pot/cauldron thing. It made it hard to cut or manage the lamb shank. Putting down your silverware to drink something or simply use your fork to eat the side was awkward unless you put your silverware on the table itself. It is still a great restaurant though and I would strongly recommend it to anyone.
Two Urban Licks was so much fun! You’d never know how big or crowded it was when you were standing at the door. The high ceiling made the space seem roomy despite how crowded it was. Though the noise levels were easily energetic, it was still easy enough to have a private conversation. Great place for a group or a date night! The service staff were friendly, warm and responsive. We ate through almost everything in the appetizers section - the salmon chips (salmon and capers served on giant spicy chips), empanada, steak tartare and pork belly were items totally worth a re-visit. The cocktails and wine (we had a Lambrusco and a light rose) were great too!
Wow....what a great meal. I had the duck and my husband had the NY strip. Both were cooked and seasoned perfectly. The butternut squash creme brulee was to die for. Our server Chris was attentive without being overbearing, and lots of fun. The atmosphere is fun and relaxed, and the live blues was excellent. My only issue was it was very loud. Our first visit, and it will not be our last!
Birthday party. Knew what to expect as far as the noise.
This place was recommended to me by a friend who lives in Atlanta. I had a great time and will definitely go back the next time I'm in town!
This is one of my favorite spots! When friends come to visit, I always feel comfortable bring them here for dinner and drinks.
Without a doubt, Two Urban Licks is always a good dining choice. ALWAYS. We've been several times and we're never disappointed - with service or food. As we toss around places to go on a Friday or Saturday night, a Two Urban Licks suggestion gets "two thumbs up" almost every time. It's not the least expensive place in the world, so IF we decide against it, it's only because we're watching the budget a little closer that week. Otherwise, saying "yes" to this spot is easy. Brunch is good. Dinner is good. And in warm weather, the patio overlooking the Beltline is amazing. It's just a great place! Restaurant visits, for me, are all about the company, the ambience, the food - in that order. We bring the company (each other), and they provide a hip ambience and delicious meals. The brisket and the scallops are two of our faves. And the salmon chips? Forget about it! We're placing an order for that appetizer almost every time we visit. On one visit, a mother/daughter pair from Cali sat next to us. It was their first visit to the restaurant, and it took all the restraint I had not to intrude on their time together with my "pitch" of the restaurant, the menu and even the server. Whether it's date night, girls night out, or a family/friends celebration, you can't go wrong with Two Urban Licks. - MrsN
Awesome place, never fail to impress well worth the drive
Wasn't wowed by the food this time.. The Salmon Chips are always great though!
Nice looking place, food (calamari and scallops), just not up to par..
Great spot on the patio with my dog!
We got there for an early birthday dinner. It was super smoky from all the cooking inside where we were sitting. We order brisket and Gouda grits. I don’t recommend the grits-no flavor. The brisket was a Huge slab of meat, very tasty but about half of it was fat. Our appetizer of calamari was not the best I’ve had in ATL. I was looking forward to eating here, but as is often the case, expectations were too high.
Our servers Xavier and Sean were awesome !
really great ambiance!! our waiter was super friendly, the food came out fast, and everything was tasty! easy to access the belt line to walk around afterwards
Great spot for a solid dinner; we came here as a group dinner for a bachelor party and enjoyed it overall. Guests were all from out of town and thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere, service, live music, and most importantly the food.
I wasn’t that impressed. I made reservations for 2 at 9:30PM and specified a booth table. We ended up waiting 35 minutes to be seated and it wasn’t at a booth! The food selection wasn’t plentiful. The place was extremely noisy and not because of the live band, but because of the patrons. The table space is too crammed.
What I liked about the place was the decor and good location.
I ordered the chicken w/ mac n cheese which was decent. My boyfriend ordered the NY Strip medium, and it was tough.
I most likely won’t be going back.
From the moment we walked into Two Urban Licks, I wished I had made reservations elsewhere. It's overly dark, overly loud, the tables are crammed together, and it's so smoke filled the scent of it was in my hair and clothing when we left. Gross.
The food was so so and WAY too salty. We shared kale salad, salmon chips, hushpuppies, butternut squash hash, and scallops. Nothing notable. Also, the online menu is not up-to-date. All in all this place gets a major thumbs down. I will say, however, that our server was good.
