What a fabulous experience! The service was top notch! The popovers amazing, the salad enormous the steak was the best I’ve ever had and the tater tots....enough said!!!
Great food and exceptional service!
Great steaks, excellent service. The ambiance more modern less classic for a steakhouse, but classy. The Japanese Strip was worth its price.
EXPERIENCE WAS GREAT!!!
Food and service was top notch! We will definitely be back. Glenn was an extremely knowledgeable server and recommend asking for him.
Amazing service and quality.
I was very excited about this dinner. I made a reservation for myself and date for 8pm on Friday night on opentable. We get to the restaurant on time and are told our table is not ready yet, we were finally sat around 8:25pm. Upon seating and water request it took a while for our server to come back over for a drink order. When he did he told us he “was instructed to check our ID’s” which is fine, but the wording a bit odd. For reference both myself and my date are late 20’s+. We started with the sliders, which were delicious. Then moved on to filet’s, Brussel sprouts and potato gratin. The steaks were cooked well with a nice sear, however the Brussel sprouts were so small they were difficult to eat. My date did comment that he thought it was odd our server never checked in once we got our food, though a manager checked in quickly. When we finished eating a busser came by and asked if we would like our sides wrapped (since that was all that was left, about 50% of each), we said yes. After a while the server finally came over for a dessert order, during this time the table was left with food remnants. After almost placing the dessert menu into the remnants the server realized and wiped the table. We ordered after dinner drinks, and paid the bill. Once home we realized we were never given our to go food. For the amount of money we paid for dinner, and the service I expected we left feeling disappointed and underwhelmed with our experience.
Fantastic restaurant and fantastic experience. The ribeye special for the table was outstanding.
Excellent beef. Some very good small plates, especially the hamachi.
Barclay Prime is fabulous. Perfect steaks. We have tried many wonderland restaurants in Philly but for a special meal we always come back to Barclay Prime. We have never been disappointed. And POPOVERS!
Our sever was very friendly and on point! He was very knowledgeable when it came to the menu. We arrived at and earlier time so it was quiet until it started to fill up but I was too into the food to even realize how loud it had gotten. Amazing food! Got the lobster and cheese steak. Ask had the special oysters and lobster bisqu.
Had a great experience celebrating our anniversary Saturday night. Service was impeccable. Our first table was near the kitchen but they quickly moved us to a better location when we asked without any issue. Tables are a little close together. But again, the service was great and the food was excellent. The Pop overs were amazing and we had to limit ourselves so we could eat our dinner. My drink was so delicious, I had to order another! My steak was perfectly cooked and the knife menu was a fun experience. I had the filet mignon and the Kale salad- both delicious. We were too full for dessert but they brought us a little chocolate cake for our anniversary. I would highly recommend this restaurant for a special occasion.
I was blown away by Barclay Prime. To start, the service was amazing. The food was the best I have ever had in my entire life. The colossal jumbo shrimp were humongous and so fresh. The Tuna tartar was light and done to perfection. The bread would have been enough for a delicious meal in itself. I literally have not one negative thing to say about Barclay Prime. I highly recommend.
Server was outstanding. He was attentive and timely.
Excellent food. One of the best steaks we ever had. Looking forward to visiting Philly again to eat at this restaurant!
Drew our waiting was knowledgeable and helped us picked the best options. Great 12 ounce filet cooked perfectly medium rare. The banana creme Brûlée was not to be missed.
Came here for the first time before going to the Philadelphia Orchestra and I was absolutely blown away. The service was amazing, the food was incredible, and the atmosphere fit the night perfectly. The “pop-ups” (bread) were addicting, my wedge salad was perfectly made, and the filet was absolutely amazing. Will be returning for sure!
Always such an amazing experience. Love dining here and will not have steaks anywhere else :)
I love this restaurant. The food is outstanding, probably my personal favorite Stephen Starr restaurant. Service was incredible, Edward was our server, he did an amazing job. The only complaint I have is we had requested a “booth” or a table with those sunken down chairs and we were sat right in the front of the restaurant so people walking by kept bumping into our chairs which was annoying but everything else was fantastic.
Clients at Barclay prime several times now. I’ve enjoyed it so much that I’ve sensed taken my wife. Never disappoints at the cheesesteak is worth every penny. Will be sure to take clients again next trip in Philadelphia.
Food was fantastic. Tater tots were yum. The wagu sirloin (which the waitress sold me on) was to die for.
Poor service not consistent with quality of restaurant. Our server was quite rude. We have dined at the restaurant numerous times often in a large group and this was by far the worst service we have ever received there
Everything was great!!!
Amazing food. Good ambiance. Pricey but it was an amazing steak (NY Strip Wagyu).
Food was really good! I thought the service was less than attentive, especially for the price point of this restaurant and therefore I would not go back.
Fantástico restaurante, muy bonito, discreto, silencioso y se come de cine. Caro.
Chairs very comfortable , great date night to get dressed for. If you like wine buy the bottle the glass is a tease.
The server was great and the atmosphere warm and cozy. The food was unremarkable . For the cost we expected better .
Honestly... the highlights of the meal were the popovers, gratin potatoes and bone-in filet. Had much more, but nothing worth speaking of.
It’s dark,,,, sofa chairs are impossible to get in/out within assistance.
All drinks ( 5.00 for a ginger-ale???) are WAY over priced. 3 glasses of wine =45.00 .. get s bottle, better value.
Service was top notch, though our Waitress seemed hurried (it was 5:30 on a Sunday night and wasn’t busy.)
One and done would be my suggestion
If you want a killer meal, with a bright, fun atmosphere and prices within reason... walk up the street to Parc!
Beautiful spot in Rittenhouse Square. I came for the famous cheesesteak and would return but to try other menu items, not to have the cheesesteak again; it was good, but once was enough for me. It was too rich which made it feel greasy (for me, the combination of the foie gras and cheese wiz made it feel quite heavy). If you've got $120 to blow, I'd say to give it a shot so you can say you've tried it—it was for sure a cool experience.
The ambiance was great—dark, moody in a good way, exactly what you'd expect from a high end restaurant. Barclay was perfect for date night and the wine selection was awesome; I'd recommend trying a malbec.
Amazing as always! The bread is out of this world, the steaks are perfectly cooked and the service is impeccable.
Wonderful food. Our server Ed was great. I especially enjoyed the rack of lamb.
The steak was amazing, but I was a bit surprised how good all of the other food was!
The best steak house in town, maybe the world. Not an exaggeration.
Great fancy, good food restaurant. We celebrated my birthday and everything was excellent from my dirty martini, wedge salad, cheesesteak and Apple cheesecake was delicious. Oh and I almost forgot the puff bread before hand with the sea salt & butter. So yummy. Our waiter was nice and friendly too!
Place was great I am definitely going to be going back there. The food and service was exceptional
