We were blown away by the attention to detail and the overall care we were given on a Saturday night. My guests and I felt as though we were the only guests in the restaurant that night. They let us Sabre champagne. The Chef came out to spend time with us and his food is not the only thing that is charming and hot! Will definitely come back for more when we are in Seattle next.

First time to this restaurant. Everything was solid. We shared three small plates, all of which were terrific. Four separate entrees (arctic char, scallops, pork chop and scallops again) were all outstanding (mine was pork chop---easy to mess up; they most certainly nailed it). Very nice wine selection with a reasonable (by restaurant standards) markup of about 2x. They need to be careful to advertise the actual vintage they have available. It would be nice to have a couple additional, more vegetarian-ish entrees available, but that's just a minor suggestion. The food was outstanding.

Choices!!! Turn left at the reception desk and you can enter a casual fine dining atmosphere with tablecloths and a serene atmosphere - which is for perfect for small groups but also permits opportunities for group seating. Or you can remain in the fabulous Happy Hour scene which calms down following the after work crowd to allow a more casual dining experience. Regardless of your choice of location, the food is suberb, the service is immaculate, and the atmosphere tingles with a wonderful vibe.

We had the 8 courses. Chef William came out and chatted with us in the beginning and throughout a truly fabulous meal. Portions were small, but we felt satisfied. If you're a bit adventurous, this is the place for you. Let him drive! And the service was terrific. We are going back for sure!

A delightful new discovery for us! We’ll definitely be a frequent customer as the service was impeccable, the menu selection awesome, and the atmosphere was refreshingly cozy in a large space. Our dinners were the perfect combination of artful touches and superb tastes. Thank you all for a wonderful experience. We look forward to visiting again soon.

Went for a business meal and everything we ordered was lovely and well presented. Between the 5 of us we shared the cheese plate, charcuterie and olives, all of which were great. For entrees we had a variety of the scallops and pork chops, which were all fabulous. And for dessert, the peaches were amazing. The service, however, was subpar and not what you expect with the cuisine or pricing. Our waitress took excessive time bring drinks, following up on small requests and was sloppy poor wine at the table. She also forgot to charge us for a bottle of wine and called and left me voicemails post-meal to say that the credit card we used to pay would be charged.... a conversation I then had to relay to my boss who paid for the meal. Poor form.

I had great service. My date was extra late and had allergies, and wasn't feeling up to eating. Service was the right amount of checking on me while I was waiting and after my date arrived. Only I ate, and it was just an appetizer. I've been before, food has been well prepared and tasty.

Was visiting Seattle and I love tasting menus. I researched and found this little gem on a recommended list of tasting menus that was close to my hotel. Although a little pricey I went for the Chef's Tasting Menu (which you have to sit at the bar for) which included 8 food courses and 1 cocktail course. I was definitely not disappointed, all of the courses were fantastic! Each course was perfectly timed and the chef asked my preferences before we began which is great for a tasting menu, many times your only choice is to have whatever they prepare whether you like it or not. The 2 main courses were a little larger than I expected for a tasting menu so I was extremely full at the end but the quality of the food and the professionalism of the chef and staff was impeccable. Would definitely recommend for travelers or locals. Thank you for a lovely evening. Amy Bishop, Lexington, Ky

The waiter working during lunch hour on weekdays is amazing; however the food was pretty disappointing.. In my first visit I ordered pork belly and it came out all burnt and the portion was so dang small. But overall experience was ok so I gave another chance and went for lunch again but this time someone else in my group ordered pork belly and the portion was big and it was perfectly cooked! No concept of consistency there. During the second visit I ordered braised short rib but the meat was super chewy. It was worse than the meat you can get from Denny's. It's like whatever I order comes out badly. So food can be hit or miss but overall experience would be alright.

Recommend sitting at the counter to get an insight into the kitchen and great conversations with any of the nice guys behind. My all time favorite restaurant and inspiration to the Seattle culinary scene.

What a disappointment, after reading such good reviews. I ordered the Atlantic Char, which was good - what I had of it. But the serving was so tiny that I ended up having to order an additional side (potato purée, which was good, but kind of weird) just to feel that I'd had dinner. The real problem was that the fish was delivered swimming in a deep pool of oil. I could drip it off the fish enough to eat it, but the roasted cauliflower was also swimming in it, and it was inedibly drenched in this vast pool of oil. The service was completely forgettable. Not bad, just bland. A guy asked me what I wanted, and then he brought it. He could have been a robot. In a great restaurant city like Seattle, this was definitely a low spot.

Another incredible Mistral dinner in the books! I cannot stress enough that Chef William and Mistral Kitchen are Seattle gems 💎 1) the menu is delicious. Every single item. We had the house salad and Niçoise salad, rib eye steak, artic char, potatoes robuchon (YOLO) and 4 desserts. 2) the bartender and cocktails are insanely good. Name your poison and they will blow your hair back with your next favorite drink. 3) the wine list is unmatched and really reasonably priced. You won't find glass pours like theirs anywhere in the city. Cheers and bon appétit!!

The server told me that presentation was super important to the chef, and they were not wrong. The presentation of the dishes was incredible. Everything was so beautiful. The food was also really tasty. However... very small menu (make a few things really really well I believe is their motto), and the portions were pretty small. We did a lunch tasting menu, and my appetizer was a small piece of cheese with a teaspoon of jam and some chopped nuts. (Again - delicious, just small and fancy). Entree was a small link of chorizo over a small bed of braised cabbage. Dessert was amazing peppermint chocolate mousse (perfect size). It's hard to rate because the food was delicious, I just would prefer more options, and a little bit larger size so I could be full without the dessert (sugar).

The cocktails aren't quite as astonishingly good as they used to be (the head bartender left a few months ago), but there are still excellent options on the menu, and well executed -- I just wouldn't order the "I'd like something with X spirit and Y flavors" like I used to. The food is still superb. The menu changes daily, so I can't recommend specifics, but whatever the chicken option is each day is pretty much always superb, and their fish is just absurdly good. The attention to the sides is impressive as well - beautifully seasoned, perfectly cooked, and the sides always pair so well with the mains both in flavors and in textures. Desserts are also impressive -- while the descriptions "cream puff" or "chocolate mousse" didn't say much, the dishes themselves did. The mousse was light, flavorful, not too sweet, and paired amazingly well with perfectly-crisp toasted hazelnuts. I'll definitely be coming back here!

My friend and I had a drink at the bar before a 7:15 dinner reservation. We were seated at 7:30 and, by 8:00, no one had asked to take so much as a drink order. We left, and had dinner at a neighboring restaurant. I've never walked out of a restaurant before this instance. Having had positive experiences at this restaurant in the past, I'm optimistic that our most recent experience was a fluke but, with so many other dining options, I will not be returning anytime soon.

This dining experience was chaotic from start to finish, as the restaurant was incredibly understaffed. The hostess was scrambling to serve food while attempting to seat people, and our server was sweating and running to his tables in all three rooms of the restaurant, making drinks behind the bar, and serving food. The poor man was running ragged, and we still waited 45 minutes for our first of three courses. It took 2 hours to complete the meal, and the food was mediocre at best. The appetizer was flat, and the main course was well seasoned but quite undercooked (hard squash, hard grains). Dessert saved the meal- delicious flavors and preparation. Overall, this was a highly disappointing dining experience, and we will not return.
