Bar Mezzana is a coastal Italian restaurant by Chef Colin Lynch at Ink Block in Boston’s South End, specializing in crudo and hand-made pasta.     Bar Mezzana's take on a classic Italian Tradition is now a week-long tasting menu! Created by Chef Colin and our Chef de Cuisine Eliza, we'll be featuring seafood focused cuisine as well as optional wine pairings selected by our Beverage Director, Ryan Lotz. The menu will be available from Sunday, December 17th through Saturday, December 23rd. We ask that the entire party participate. This dinner is available for $115 per person, with an optional (but suggested!) wine pairing. Our regular menu is available as well.

    The food was mediocre at best. the pasta was overcooked and the bolognese ragu was horrible. Appetizers were good. However we had to wait 20 minutes after appetizers were complete and finally we asked for the plates to be cleared. We unfortunately had a very drunk group of women behind us that were extremely loud. all the tables surrounding them were all giving them looks of distain. I have to say this will be the last time I frequent this establishment. A very steep decline in quality from the original high quality I always enjoyed at Bar Mezzana. At the prices charged this is definitely not worth it.

    Bar Mezzana is a consistently wonderful restaurant. We recently went for a wine dinner; everything was superb. While it was not inexpensive, it was an excellent value: generous with the white truffle, top shelf wines in the optional pairing, presentation and execution of the meal totally first rate. The dining room can get noisy, but that wasn't a problem on a rainy Sunday evening.

    We love going to Bar Mezzana…the overall experience is always fun and delicious…last night, not so much…the restaurant was busy but there were also opening tables in the back of the room…the wait staff was tentative and uncertain…we waited too long to order, to get drinks and way too long to get our dinner…there was confusion and our waiter disappeared for long stretches of time…there was too much confusion paying with gift cards that the restaurant offered and dessert was offered too late…it was noisy and we wanted to just leave…I hope next time is better but last night was just not fun…we’ve been going to Bar Mezzana for years and, sad to say, last night did not measure up…

    We had dinner at 8:30 pm on a Friday night. It was very noisy and hard to have dinner conversation. Also I have never been to a restaurant where I spent >$200 for a dinner and been charged $6 for bread with my meal. I had the squash salad appetizer and it was more onions than squash and I ordered the "chicken under a brick" entree. The chicken entree was floating in sauce so much so that the polenta beneath it was not able to be eaten because it just liquefied in to the sauce. The waitress was attentive and service was good. There are many dinner options in the area and I will try somewhere new rather than be a repeat customer.

    Literally one of the best restaurants in the Boston area. Never a disappointment and always a taste thrill. I have been a loyal patron since Healther and Colin opened and have been one of their biggest fans of all their ventures. Customer service at its best mixed with culinary expertise only creates success.

    The staff members, including greeters and wait staff, were pleasant and helpful. Service was very good. The food was nicely presented and tasty. There was only one out of the four of us who was dissatisfied with his entree. He did not like the taste generated by having broccoli puree beneath skate, which affected the taste of the skate in a negative way for him. He might have enjoyed the dish if the puree was on the side. The other three of us were very pleased with our food. The wine pour was generous in comparison to the wine pour at some other Boston restaurants. Overall, a very good experience.

    We saw a boar pasta dish with truffles on Facebook and wanted to have this delicious fall dish. Both of us ordered it and loved that the chef came to the table to put the truffles on top. Delicious! We also shared the beet and apple salad. Finished it off with Tiramisu. We thought that we were back in Italy! LOVED IT!

    The food was good. I found my entree to be a bit heavy. The 3 other people I was with loved their entrees. I loved the appetizers, desserts, and drinks. The service was good. However, I found the restaurant to be just too loud. I couldn't hear the server when she was explaining the specials, so I didn't consider them and just ordered off the menu, and then felt frustrated when I didn't like my entree all that much.

    Alessandro and the rest of the kitchen staff was wonderful. The duck was the best i’ve ever had and the pasta was so fresh. Amazing experience will definitely be back!

    We participated in the Col di Corte wine dinner; 5 courses with wine pairing. This experience was worth the price and felt like more than just a pre-fix menu with wine pairing. The owner of the winery was dining along with us and actually got up and explained the origins and meaning behind each wine paired with the dish. Bar Mezzana stepped in at each break, refilling our wines, water and food. The service was outstanding, the atmosphere energetic, and the experience was unique and intimate above all else. 10/10 and would of course dine again. Thank you x10!

    Food was ok, but very expensive considering what we got and the quality of the food. Service was not great, waiter just didn’t see it, and it took a long period of time for them to notice us.

    By far one of the worst meals I have had paying $300. The Arctic char was overcooked and the skin soggy. The fish stew tasted like fish past its prime. We had the tasting menu and the food was very poorly cooked. There were two options for the dessert but for each person in the party to have a different one you have to pay $15. The service was very slow - almost 2 hours for and 3 dishes. The wine was good and that was the only positive. Would never recommend.

    We enjoyed brunch tremendously. The potato and caramelized onion frittata was absolutely delicious, as were the Bloody Mary's. The service was terrific and we always enjoy the ambiance.

    The menu was creative and well thought out as always. Wine selection is perfect. Service was very professional and friendly. Great buzz in the restaurant on an early Friday night. We have been there many times and highly recommend Bar Mezzana and Chef Colin.

    The food was tasty. However for the price and quality of service, it is not worth it. I am sorry to say our server seemed annoyed. I can’t imagine it was with us as we were quiet, but she seemed irritated nonetheless

    The food and service are always wonderful. Definitely on the louder side if you eat inside so I’d caution if you are hard of hearing. But a wonderful place.
