Dined at the bar. Gina was excellent! Very engaging and wonderful personality !
We had a lovely lunch at Carson’s. We sat on the enclosed patio under a wonderful radiant heater on a cold, damp day. It was very cozy! Our food was amazing. Our guest had a spinach salad (with enough left for supper) with grilled shrimp, my husband had the beef sandwich ( half of which came home too). And I had a fantastic soft shell crab BLT that was just perfect. This is the only place in Lexington (that I know of) that serves soft shell crab.... and it is so good ! The wait staff was very attentive and gracious. We will return for one of those wonderful looking Bloody Mary cocktails.
Always great food and service at Carson’s.
Carson's is a very over-hyped restaurant. The actual meal that arrives does not live up to the description on the menu. The restaurant is clearly focused on profit. The servers and staff are professional and well-trained. But this is not a restaurant for foodies. The food on your plate was clearly not prepared with any personal attention. Carson's feels like a chain. I have been there 3 times, and have had the same experience each time.
My boyfriend and I are from Ohio and had several people tell us to make a reservation at Carson’s while in Lexington for a night. We are SO happy we stopped. The steak and shrimps and grits were delicious. Best meal I have had in a long time. Great atmosphere and excellent service as well! Would recommend to anyone.
Great food and atmosphere
Great birthday brunch for my daughters 21st!
I have eaten here several times and it’s always amazing!!
Food was outstanding and the service was out of this world.
Carson’s never disappoints. The best food, drinks, service and atmosphere! We love it!!!
Everything was delicious with very generous servings
Excellent as always. Great food and service!!!! Highly recommend for any occasion or just casual night out!
Wonderful food, service and atmosphere! Will definitely be making a return visit!
Very great food cane from Louisville to try this an fell in love
Love this place!
Lots of local beer on tap. Make a reservation it was busy even on Thursday at 8pm.
Great dinner and food
Overall I had a positive experience at Carson's. The food and drinks were good, great ambiance, and the service was just okay. The waitstaff needs improvement.
We had a reservation for 7:30. The first problem was the parking lot. It was muddy, full of holes, lots of water and dark. The next morning the mats in my car looked like I had been on a muddy hike due to the mud collected from walking in the parking lot. I will have to get the mats cleaned due to this. The meal was just ok. I had guests from out of town who wanted a KY feeling meal. So we chose Carson's. Three of us had the wedge salad and I think it was probably the best of the meal. The pork belly sandwich was mostly fat, the pretzel sticks were very chewy, the prime rib sandwich was lacking in favor. The service was very slow. We waited for ever for dinner. The best part of the whole meal was the bread pudding. Thank goodness because I was feeling very upset for brining guests to dinner and to not have it be wonderful. So the dessert saved the day.
The food and service was amazing!! Definitely will return.
Lovely evening all around . Very efficient manager.
First time at Carson's. Food was amazing. Kudos to Jonathan for taking great care of us, and explaining the menu. The ribs were a home run. We will come back on our next trip to Lexington.
Food was wonderful. Atmosphere was very interesting and not too loud A really great date spot.
Great restaurant but very loud outside due to construction.
We had the Sirloin and Mac’n Cheese with Pork Belly. The food came out hot and well portioned. I would recommend both...
Delicious food! Filet was one of the most tender and flavorful I have eaten.
Our dinner was terrific. We weren't rushed at all by the waiter and the food was excellent! We'll definitely return.
It's been hard to get into Carson's for a weekend dinner, but during the week between 5 and 7, it's not crowded. The drink specials are also a good reason to come after work. The appetizers can make a whole meal, especially the baked brie or the steamed mussels. All of their portions are large, well seasoned and presented. Two appetizers and two glasses of wine each was $50. We'll spend that much at a less than fine dining campus eatery/pizza place and get average food. Carson's for after work or date night. But make reservations so you don't have to wait.
Shrimp and grits was fantastic as well as the smoked Gouda Mac and cheese. Bourbon selection is extensive. Service was great.
Amazing service and wonderful food!! Highly recommend, especially the bread pudding!! Wow!!
It was great! The brunch was outstanding!
Brunch was awesome. Great food presentation. The live jazz trio was a nice and unexpected addition. Great spot!
Our experience was great! This was our first time visiting Carson's. The food was outstanding! The ambiance was the best ever. We loved the huge bar! The live jazz music was a plus also.
TERRIFIC AMBIANCE. ONE OF THE BEST STEAKS WE'VE EVER EATEN. LARGE MENU SELECTIONS. GREAT MIXED DRINKS.
Great food and excellent service! Banana pudding is a must! Shrimp and grits and ribs were some of the best we have had in our travels!
Bloody Mary's and Sunday Brunch are phenomenal. Favorite menu item is the Scallops!
Great service, good food, nice drink selection. A notch above the normal dinner options.
I went to Carson’s for the first time with friends on October 16, 2018. This was a first visit for me since I live in Nicholasville and it is a bit of a drive. I had heard good things about Carson’s and wanted to check it out for myself. Our waitress (sorry I did not write her name down) was fantastic! She recommended wines and her favorite turned out to me delicious. The food was very good and she was well versed with the menu.
I was happy to see parking at the restaurant even if the parking lot was a bit of a mess and it seemed that people parked in random places since there was no real sense of a parking space.
We were there at 5:00 on a Tuesday and it was still rather loud to be able to enjoy conversation. I don’t know if it is the acoustics or just General loud talking among guests, but that and the parking lot are the only reason I did not give this 5 stars across the board.
We had a great anniversary dinner at Carson’s! I’d recommend this establishment to anyone!
This was our first time at Carson's and we did the Sunday brunch which included live jazz music by trio. It was a nice setting and think it would be especially nice when weather is warm and dry enough to open up to the outside. Our belgium waffle with fruit was good but the waffle was not warm even after we asked for a second one to replace first. Fresh squeezed OJ is delicious! And the guys enjoyed their burgers. Wait for food was longer than expected and service could have been a little better.
