Very polite servers and very observant offering us the vegan option for the afternoon tea. The food was plenty and excellent- maybe I would have preferred more non-sweet Appetizers, but that’s a personal preference. I liked the hot water refill for the tea and the fact that we could take home leftovers. Very appreciated. Would not want to see exquisite food go to waste.

Sandwiches were not up to standard. Service was lovely but staff could do better on pre-bus and being more attentive with each table. Thank you for accommodating for vegetarians. Hosts were lovely.

What a civilized way to spend an afternoon in NYC. Drinking tea in a room that's still old NY while listening to jazz was perfect. The wait staff was suburb. It was so nice to be able to have a conversation and feel special for a few hours.

Sorry. I was beyond disappointed. I’ve been to Tea Houses around the world and was saddened that my worst experience would be right here in New York City. For $120 per person I excepted freshly prepared Tea sandwiches, presentable teapots and instead we had day-old teeny tiny doll sandwiches and industrial tea kettles. WTH. I need a do over to change my mind, but for now, AARRGGHH!

The tea service was impeccable, as usual. The wait staff is personable and thorough. There is a nice selection of teas. The scones were fresh and hot. The ambiance is quiet and relaxed without being stuffy. If afternoon tea is up your alley or you've never tried it, but wanted to, this is the place for you.

Afternoon tea on a Sunday afternoon during Christmas season. Tea itself was enjoyable with good presentation of food and teas. HOWEVER the room was at or close to capacity with 2 servers for the most part until a 3 rd eventually came on. Long wait for tea, or to purchase another glass of champagne. The party next to use were seated for about 20 minutes before someone acknowledged they were there. When you are virtually completely booked, you have to have sufficient waitstaff. I’d probably recommend but with caveats plus there are other places for tea that are better equipped for high capacity reservations.

I went for afternoon tea. The food was fine, nothing to gush over. It was all very clearly plated beforehand, as the scones were room temp. I would have appreciated more attentive service but they were also packed. I don’t plan to return for tea, would rather try something new.

My husband and I did afternoon tea here. The tea, sandwiches and pastries were great(and you get A LOT for your money), the ambiance is great, but the service left something to be desired. We sat at our table for over 10 minutes before even being greeted. Then finally our waiter came over to the table and the tea came quickly but the food seemed to take a while which was surprisingly considered none of it was hot food. We hardly saw the waiter after that. All in all was still a good experience but I just expected a little better from this place being that it’s in a 5 star hotel.

I love the classic Pierre blend tea. The food is always good, although I did not enjoy the holiday specialties as much as the usual. Sprinkles on the scones was odd. The first course included pigs-in- the-blanket, grilled cheese and fried mac and cheese - unfortunately resembling frozen appetizers from Costco.

No girls trip is complete without a proper tea and the Pierre Hotel did not disappoint. I didn’t realize it was Santa Tea when I made the reservations and thought it might be a little overwhelming, but I was pleasantly surprised. A wonderful tea, great food, great scones, delicious tea. Don’t miss the champagne.

The hotel is beautiful and the service was good. However, the tea service was not what we expected. It felt like a tea for children. We were expecting tea sandwiches and got pigs in a blanket. Scones were too sweet. Don't think I'll be back.

Sadly this was a subpar and highly disappointing experience. For the price I would have expected a little bit better service and quality of food. We waited at least an hour before getting served. Tea came out well before the food and waiter never checked on us to refill tea pots w hot water (tea was cold by the time food came). Even with the Groupon this was overpriced and just a sad experience.

The customer service was amazing. We were running late due to the holiday traffic and they held the table for 30 minutes. The staff was very informative and friendly and service was prompt. We had the unlimited champagne tea service and my glass was never empty. The food was good expected for afternoon tea. The noise level was ok but the experience overall wasn’t as fancy as I expected. Maybe because it was crowded during the holidays. Overall I would totally recommend the afternoon tea for everyone to try once. The hotel itself is beautiful.

My husband and I have been to many an afternoon tea all over the world. We were not overly impressed by this one. The room seemed blah, which contributed to the ambiance being blah. For $70+ per person, we both expected more, as this was one of the most expensive afternoon teas we had been to. The food was decent. Overall, we didn’t feel that the experience warranted the hefty price tag, as there are better and more luxurious afternoon teas in NYC for a less expensive price tag.
