Bond 45, a New York Italian Kitchen & Bar was originally located on 45th street in the former historic Bond Clothing Store (1948-1977), is now open in its new home on 46th street. Bond 45 is best known for its vegetable antipasto bar which offers a rotating selection of market vegetables and features an expansive menu that include specialty veal chops, seafood, house made pasta and thin crust pizza.

    Two of us loved their meal. One thought the fish was too fishy. The other said the veal was okay. No bread was served so we asked for an order of garlic bread which was delicious but just enough for one slice each. Waiter didn’t suggest that we order two orders. I’ve been there before and liked my meal. I guess it just depends on what you order. Stick to the Italian pasta dishes and filet mignon.

    Everything was perfect. Only one thing—when I made the reservation, they asked if it was a special occasion and I responded yes, my sister’s birthday. But then there was no acknowledgement of the special occasion while we were there, so now I wonder why they asked.

    Their garlic bread, burrata and prosciutto were excellent. Unfortunately the eggplant parm appetizer arrived uncooked somehow - the cheese was melted but that was about it. The staff quickly took it away, took it off our bill, and brought a complimentary order. The dover sole was excellent - as was the truffle ravioli - and the margaritas! Great spot pre theater!

    Overall good but not great. All the “sister” restaurants in the chain (Trattoria dell’ Arte, Red Eye Grill, Cafè Fiorello) are on a much higher culinary level. High volume, theater crowd place, good for the tourists who don’t know better. I chose it because of the easier handicapped access (no steps downward to enter) offered for my companion. Otherwise, there are far more discriminating dining choices on Restaurant Row.

    Been here several times before Covid.. the lasagna WAS delicious. Recently dined there and was disappointed, the lasagna wasn’t quite as good as I remembered… the short rib meatball alongside the lasagna was cold and very salty.. Waitperson did bare minimal servicing our table.. Don’t need to go back…

    We made a last minute reservation to have dinner after seeing Sweeney Todd ... so glad we did. I am sure the restaurant was quite more energetic as the evening went on, but for the time we were there (early dinner after the matinee) it was just right. The wait staff was remarkable; I do not think my water glass ever got less than 2/3 full before it was refilled; the food was served quickly and was absolutely delicious. A great variety on the menu. Everyone was very friendly, almost as if we came in there weekly for dinner. I always stay at the hotel across from there when I am in NYC, and will definitely put this restaurant on my "must do" list when I am next visiting. Una cena meravigliosa.

    The vegetable antipasto bar was fabulous and I am not even a vegetarian. That and the garlic loaf was more than enough food and it was delicious. I will definitely return.

    Great venue in the heart of the Theatre district. The selection of entrees appeals to every palate. The steaks are sensational but large, so come with an appetite. The seasoned fries that accompany the steak were delicious and enough to share with 4 people. Our party started with a selection of anti pasta and grilled octopus, which was tender and nicely seasoned. The fish selections were also very tender and fresh.

    Great food. My shrimp added to pasta was very fishy. They took it off the bill. The pasta and pomodoro sauce were excellent. My husband loved the lasagna. Gorgonzola bread though extra was awesome.

    Bad service bad food and to expensive !! Not European standards and no Italien feeling. The service team have definitely come to Europe and see how it works !! Specially the “TIP” thing !! You have to do more than 100% normal service work for your tip !! You can’t do nothing or very bad but expect a good tip.

    From the time that we walked in, we received wonderful service. The food and the service were wonderful. Definitely order the bread and the chicken parm! Since we were going to the theatre that night, we were worried about the time but we ended up finishing dinner on the earlier side and had plenty of time to get to the theatre. Thanks again!

    We had a lovely brunch before a matinee show. The smoked salmon eggs Benedict and Bella Benedict were delicious as were the breakfast potatoes! Nice atmosphere too!

    So disappointed this visit to Bond 45. My spaghetti & meatballs arrived and it was cold. I sent it back and suspect the kitchen nuked it instead of re-making it. In the meantime my friend was half way finished with her entree when my plate arrived back at the table. Our wine was a good choice with no help from the server. Caesar & antipasto was consistent and good. We decided to enjoy dessert and coffee elsewhere.

    Amazing service and delicious food. Wish bread service was free. Food a little pricey but typical for NYC. I’ve been many times and will continue to eat there when I’m in NY for a show!

    We had a lovely pre show dinner and we’re also celebrating a birthday. Service was spot on. Started with the fried calamari and artichoke pizza. Both were delicious. The mains were also very good. Lasagna was exceptional. Loved the richness of the Béchamel sauce. Salmon and Dover sole were cooked to perfection. The happy birthday song was a fun way to end our dinning experience. We will All be back.
