   We go regular for either breakfast lunch or evening meal and the last few times for breakfast we had to wait 40 to 50 minutes after we kept asking where our order was It’s such a shame as friends have said the same As this is one of our favourite places to eat

   Visited for Sunday lunch. Our first visit to the Grain Store restaurant at Doddington Hall. The meal was delicious, generous portions and excellent service by young, friendly staff. Would highly recommend.

   Really want to give 5* all round as we really enjoyed our meal at the Grain Store on Sunday. However, there were a couple of issues which let the experience down. The restaurant had an issue with their WiFi system which meant we had to leave contact details for payment, not an issue from our side of things as we were happy to give one contact and sort it out the bill split between us to make it as easy as possible for the staff. We felt very sorry for the staff who had an extra issue to deal with on a busy Sunday service. However, when they called the next day they said they were ringing to ‘chase the outstanding payment’. The language implied that we’d not made ourselves available within a timely manner to settle the bill! I even picked her up on this and still didn’t get any warmth back. I appreciate having to deal with the aftermath of a major operational issue won’t have been easy but it wasn’t our fault. I would have liked to have been made to feel the restaurant were at least appreciative for our understanding in the matter. When I pointed out that the prices charged on the bill were different to the menu this was met with equal annoyance. It was only £1 but on every meal so cost me £10 more for not realising at the table as people had paid me the menu price. Luckily they’d paid me the restaurant menu price and not the cafe as that’s £2 less for the same meal?! But to be firmly told the system price was right and they’d no idea where the old menus had been dig out from wasn’t a professional way to deal with it either. It just left a bad taste in my mouth - which is a shame as the food was amazing!

   Booked for early lunch.Busy restaurant. Staff very attentive and friendly. Enough choice on the lunch menu with a special. Ample portions and good value for money. Would most definitely return.

   Polite, helpful staff members. An enjoyable lunch in lovely surroundings. A variety of different choices for lunchtime. We will certainly visit again.

   I brought my mother in a wheelchair. I found it difficult wheeling her from the front of the shop to the Grainstore because I am not local and am unfamiliar with the place. There are not many drop kerbs. Once inside, the staff were very helpful especially in the upstairs restaurant which we accessed by the lift. Lovely spacious outlook. Plenty of vegetables with our roast dinner. Thank you

    Long overdue brunch with a friend, not rushed, food was excellent restaurant was spotlessly clean. Would recommend.
