   Waiter got one order wrong. Another order, quiche lorraine, was the worst quiche that one of our party had ever eaten. Too bad, it's a nice place physically, and some reviewers have liked it, but we won't be going back.

   Ali and his crew, most importantly Tracy, always make a meal at Bistro Vida a fun and enjoyable meal. We visit as often as possible and know that Ali is making sure that everything runs smoothly. We just took 6 of us there for a celebratory evening and went home with smiles on our faces and a great taste in our mouths.

   It was Saturday night and I’m sure the kitchen was busy but I felt rushed. I’ve been there before and never experienced that. Salad and entrees arrived at the same time. We weren’t done with our appetizers yet. Otherwise it was the usual fun experience.

   As always, we had a weekend brunch. The Eggs Benedict were perfect and the Coddled Eggs were very good. The waitstaff see us coming and bring our usual decaf order as soon as we sit down. Since it was raining, most of the customers were inside, including a couple of parties, so it was noisier that usual. We always look forward to our weekend treat.

    Bistro vida is one of our very favorite restaurants. Ali, the owner, is amazing and his staff is outstanding. Excellent food, service, ambiance inside and outside . We have been happy customers since Ali opened! Love the enhanced outdoor dining and so hope Menlo Park continues to support the outdoor spaces and weekly market. So important for the energy and ambiance of the town. Thank you, Ali.

    An altogether sumptuous dining experience. You cannot go wrong with French cuisine. The restaurant can be full of din, as it is very popular. Therefore it is better to dine there with another couple or a group.

    Excellent food and service. Always been good and seems to be getting even better. Prices up a bit, but same everywhere. Asked about one of the (very tasty) wines by the glass and the manager wasn't keen on revealing that info to us. Odd. We will be back.

    The restaurant really reminded me Paris. Loved their fries and escargots. However the service was a bit slow at the very beginning. We were there when it was not busy, only 3-4 small parties, but we waited at the front for about 10 minutes and those waiters just kept on ignoring us and new customers who waited in queue beside us. Once we sat down and got the menu for less than 3 minutes, another waiter asked us if we were ready to order….

    Very high quality French cuisine with outstanding and friendly service. The restaurant is decorated in theme and super charming. It’s extremely loud though, it’s hard to hear across the table so it’s better for a lively night out rather than a date.

    Bistro Vida is one of our favorite restaurants, and we rarely go out. The food is very good, the welcome is great and I like the setting, french style. Yesterday the entrees (coq au vin , cassoulet) was very good, very copious. The assiette of charcuterie was average, and the crème brûlée as well. We saw for the first time a very helpful waitress. But the service was a bit out of sync. The noise level of a single 5 men table was so high that we could not ignore it, which is unusual there. Hopefully next time we are luckier!

    Update: the owner called me the next morning after seeing my review. I appreciate him taking the time and making the effort to make sure the restaurant stays top notch. Please don’t let my original review deter you. Will be back to this neighborhood gem and be transported to a cozy Parisienne bistro. So disappointed at our food last night. The steak didn’t have as good texture as before, may be they changed to a different cut of meat or a different source. The bouillabaisse has a good amount of seafood but the broth was missing saffron and richness. The bread pudding was stiff on top, no browning and tasted like stale bread with milk. Need to amp up the flavoring in the soaking cream. We were embarrassed to have brought our guests here. The ambiance and service still great so hopefully this is a one-off but was still an expensive and disappointing night out

    Long-Friends visiting. All very good cooks. They each enjoyed the variety of items offered. Five of us each getting something different and each of us wowed by the flavors and quality of our selections. The French ambience highlights the specialness of the joy of dining out together. I was happy and appreciative Bistro Vida provided a memorable evening for us.

    Can’t go wrong when I suggest Bistro Vida my friends are always happy. The food is delicious, everyone there is very friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere is comfortable and makes you think of France.
