   I live in NYC, but used to live in Boston. I got off the Amtrak and my first stop was this damn restaurant. I live for that rabbit pasta... and everything else on that menu. *Chef's kiss*

   Mediocre food -- the crudo had no flavor. Sat at the counter where there were WAY too many seats. I barely had space to eat and the volume of noise around me was distracting.

   I think an average of $40 for a main course is too much for the type of experience offered. Also wine list is very expensive for labels offered: what is the sense of having a wine list with a range from $60 to $600 /bottle? And also… the lowered price bottle are super expensive

    The food and service were off the charts fabulous! Attentive waitstaff that provided suggestions and detailed descriptions of what to expect from the menu choices. Everything was freshly made and arrived in a very timely manner. The inside of the restaurant was not what we were expecting ... a bit too sterile and modern for my taste. The set up was interesting though. And we didn't even notice it once the food and drinks arrived. Excellent choice for a special night out!

    We had an excellent lunch at Sportello before returning home to Los Angeles. Food was excellent and unique. Soft, fluffy gnocchi with a little lobster. Strozzapreti pasta with roasted rabbit was truly delicious. Lots of rabbit! Loved the delicata squash salad and will be replicating at home for a perfect light dinner! Highly recommend and would return when in town.

    The stools around the counter were extremely uncomfortable. That sets you up for a bad experience. While the service was fine, was hard to get a server's attention given how many patrons they were covering. The food was incredibly bland. Just everything lacked taste. The tomato soup tasted like a jar of tomate sauce. The carrots tasted like absolutely nothing. The pastas lacked any flavor. The vegetarian pasta dish with a beet stuffed filling just tasted like nothing.

    I had been referred to Sportello by a friend in the food industry and was highly anticipating the dining experience. First, the menu is limited without additional specials. We ordered for appetizers the polpette and burrata . Both were good. We then split the tagliatelle and gnocchi. The tagliatelle was again solid but not great. The gnocchi were a bit rubbery and had minimal lobster. Overall the meal was good but not top tier.

    Beyond delicious! Charcuterie board was a nice surprise and bolognese and rabbit pasta were amazing. Only thing is their seats have no backs so I felt hunched over when sitting.

    As always, Food was excellent and highly recommendable. However, despite the fact that there was only 3 tables for lunch, the service was very poor. Server spent most of the time chatting with other employees and out of sight.

    Enjoyed Sportello. One thing did catch my attention. I feel like an old coot for mentioning it. However, first impressions matter. The hostess greeted us wearing a big grey sweatshirt/hoodie. I thought “was this a bad choice?” This is really a minor quibble. But it was father unusual for an upscale restaurant

    Disappointing experience for dinner. Octopus was dry and cold upon arrival. Sauce on lamb meatballs was more like a BBQ sauce than tomato. However, Gnocchi was amazing and wine was great. Seems that pasta is a good bet here but other dishes are not up to Barbara Lynch standards that I’m used to. The restaurant did remove the octopus from our bill so that would prompt me to try again.

    We walked out. We ordered drinks and were then ignored for over 20 minutes. We watched two other tables do the same. The menu sounded great but they need to figure out staffing/service.

    Food, drinks, and service were terrific. The spicy tomato soup was amazing. My only criticism is the decor is a bit on the aging side. A makeover would not hurt.

    Food was amazing. We ordered the buratta, broccolini, the bolognese and gnocchi and cleaned our plates! Being seated next to the bathroom was not. Booking through open table limited our ability to make a request for table vs. counter and given the busy night we weren't given much flexibility to change our seats. If booking through open table, make a note to avoid the bathroom seating if you can!

    First time at Sportello (completing our visits to all of Barbara Lynch’s Boston eateries). Staff and service were cheerful, knowledgeable and attentive. We had tomato soup and lamb meatball starters (both excellent) - followed by rabbit pasta and veal main courses. Rabbit was also excellent - veal a little dry but nicely flavored. Good, approachable wines by the glass available and the restaurant is directly above Drink (for a pre dinner cocktail). Recommended and will certainly visit again.

    I think I was expecting a little more from Sportello. It’s a nice restaurant but wasn’t one I would put at the top of my mist and don’t really feel the need to go back. The service was a little slow and not very engaging. The bread basket and burrata were delicious. My gnocchi and lobster dish was divine. The tiramisu dessert was also tasty. In summary, the chefs did a great job but the service was just ok.
