I made a reservation for 4 people at 5:45pm for a pre-theater dinner. When we arrived, the hostess said I had only made a reservation for 2 people and that she could give us a table but we would have to leave at 6:45pm. When I showed her my reservation confirmation for 4 people, she didn't apologize for the error but said it would be "OK" which I assumed meant we wouldn't have to rush. Midway through our meal at 6:45pm, a very large private party arrived and we were told (not asked) that we would need to move for dessert. We said we wanted to finish our meal at our table. At 7pm another person came over and told us we really needed to move. No one ever acknowledged that the booking mistake was the restaurant's, not ours. No one ever apologized for rushing us. No one offered us a complimentary drink or dessert to try to make up for the shoddy treatment. We were treated liked we were doing something wrong for trying to enjoy the meal that we were paying A LOT of money for. I have dined here before and enjoyed it, but this was really one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had.

My sister, who has celiac disease, was very impressed that the waiter immediately was able to tell her which menu items were gluten free, and she was thrilled that the majority of the menu was gluten free. My husband and I were impressed by the quality and authenticity of the food. The service was great, too. Highly recommended!

My Husband and I dined at Colibri after an afternoon theatre show. I found the food to be average. There were no enchilades or tomales which we expected to find at a Mexican restaurant. My tostada was ok. I have had better in other Mexican restaurants. I suppose the attraction is that the restaurant is near the Geary and Curran theatres.

Fantastic staff and great atmosphere. The menu is superb, and different to your standard Mexican menu. This felt more authentic. Definitely try the guacamole to start - the staff make it in a station close to the bar to your taste. It was all fantastic!

The atmosphere was congenial although we requested a quiet table and got seated in the middle of the bar room. There were plenty of other tables in the adjacent dining room that would have obviously been a lot more intimate. The service was very good. As far as value is concerned? Not so good. The duck breast was a little skimpy and dry. There's a reason why they don't put the prices on the online menu. Seventeen dollars for guacamole is a bit much. I understand it's in the heart of the tourist district, but some of the prices were ridiculous for what came to the table.

I’ve enjoyed this place for both dinner and most recently brunch. The food and service never disappoints! I had the chilaquiles verdes and they were to die for. The fresh-squeezed orange juice mimosas are tasty and not to mention bottomless. Highly recommended!

Arrived a bit earlier for my reservation and was seated right away. Everything went downhill from there as it took the waiter 15 just to come to the table, tried to order some guacamole but they were out of avocados, and it took over an hour to get my entree. The portions are small, food poorly seasoned, and the service sucks!

Colibri is a great place to eat in the downtown area, especially if you are going to the Curran. We have been several times and always believed we had a very good meal. It can be noisy, especially if you are seated next to a large group. The layered tortilla/mole chicken dish is excellent.

Unfortunately we had slow service, a server that ignored us, and once we got our food it did not all came at the same time, there were 6 of us and I had to wait an additional 10 min to get my food, and then when I’d did come it was the wrong order! Not good all around

We went for a Bachelorette party and they acknowledged us about it and were very friendly. Margaritas were good and food was tasty. Id recommend it especially if you stay at Hotel Diva you get 10% off.

This used to be my go to restaurant when I visited San Francisco. The time before this visit it seemed a little off. It was really off this time. I didn’t really find anything that distasteful but rather lack luster. Perhaps the place is the same and I’ve just grown tired of it. I don’t plan on returning when visiting the city in the future.

The food here is excellent, the service a tad slow. I made a reservation before I arrived and the staff seemed a bit confused. The restaurant is fairly large with a front and back of house and they tend to put people in the front of the house so it's a bit cramped and a bit loud. It took a little while for someone to take our order, and no one ever asked if I needed another drink so I only bought one. The staff was friendly and helpful.
