We didn't care for the team waiter service. The2 hostesses and manager were having trouble with the reservation system. There were just too many people for each position. The food was tasty, just a bit overpriced.

I had high expectation by the reputation of this restaurant. The only dish we liked was grilled octopus. Other dishes were mediocre, no dearth in taste, just salty. I would not go back even the bill would have been half of what we received. It's pity as it is a nice ambience and I wish they can serve better food so I can go back.

It was a beautiful evening and we arrived early so we had our choice of seating. Loved the front patio. It was completely full about 45 mins after we arrived. Amazing food, great service. Expensive but everything was perfect. Portions were on the smaller side but didn't leave hungry for sure. We had a beautiful evening

LOVE Polpo…always have. Food great, ambiance perfect, service impeccable. BUT…they were out of several things we were looking for. Certain wines to start (not just one but two in a row). Then, shockingly, they were out of tartufo. Our guests were excited throughout the meal to get tartufo for dessert and then nothing. Strange, because you really just buy a bunch of it and keep it in the freezer until customers order it. Honestly, the staff was embarrassed having to continually tell us they were out of menu items, and we were understandably turned off. I still love the place and will go back, but management needs to fix this before it becomes a pattern…

The food at Polpo was excellent tonight and it’s always fantastic. Polpo is a beautiful restaurant and based on where you decide to sit , it can be lively and exciting or more intimate . Even the outside patio is very nice on a good weather evening . In the past the service has always been fabulous but tonight , it was just “ok” because we were the forgotten table . We probably would have had more drinks and another bottle of Pellegrino if we had someone even look in our direction but that didn’t happen . This was a Thursday night and not super busy so service could have been better . On a super busy Friday and Saturday , slower service is a bit more understandable . But , once I mentioned it to the manager , a bit more effort was made and there was a great recovery . Overall, great food and drinks in a lovely atmosphere and it’s almost always “10•!

Even though we had made a reservation, our choices upon arriving were to sit at the bar, sit in a noisy small room with a large business group, or sit out front where waiters and other staff were having loud conversations just on the other side of a fence. For the high prices, the food was good but not wonderful, the bread was stale, and the pasta had sat under a heat lamp too long. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant, as there are so many other options in the area.

I was recommended to dine here by friends who I dine with often where I live in Bronxville, and I was beyond disappointed in the lack of service and hospitality. I noted on my reservation that it was my first time here and I was celebrating my anniversary and Father's Day. Upon arrival there were two older ladies who were too busy arguing back and forth to even acknowledge or greet us. When I gave them the name on my reservation she said plainly " either you wait to be seated on the first level or you sit upstairs, we're overbooked" What's the point of us making a reservation if you're going to overbook yourself and inconvenience the paying customer? The servers and wait staff look miserable and overworked. They were constantly asking us to clean plates off our table, but we were not done!! I guess at one point the waiter shared our disappointment with a manager who came over to share that they were understaffed. Coming from someone who has been managing 4–5-star hotels for over 15 years it is never the paying customers fault that you are understaffed...Long story short. Never coming back. I'll keep my money in Bronxville where I dine out 3-4 times a week

I made a reservation and when I told the host my name he made it seem like I was an inconvenience. He told me I could wait or sit outside. I ordered the chicken Milanese and there was no flavor to it.

We wanted to sit outside and made a reservation on open table for an outside table. However when we arrived - it was not honored- and the staff member told us it was the “owners policy” that this was only something that could be “optionally” accommodated and the outdoor tables were full so we were seated indoors in the dark bar area. We would have gone elsewhere given the beautiful evening weather as our goal had been to find a place with outdoor dining. Was also frustrated as there were outdoor tables available when we arrived that were not occupied through the time we left. So we could well have been accommodated outside. Perhaps the owner should change their policy or change the options on OpenTable so people are not disappointed like we were.

We've been to this restaurant a few times, and the food is always great. However, the service was the worst we've ever experienced there. It started when we checked in with the inside hostess who was incredibly snobby. It was to the point of rude, and we even had a reservation! We certainly didn't feel like welcomed guests despite being on time and appropriately dressed. Our actual waitress and server were very nice, but the other outside host and one of the waiters kept asking us what drinks we wanted without giving us the drinks/wine menu. We had to ask for one 2-3 times. Last but not least, we were overcharged for three alcoholic drinks we didn't order. We won't be back despite the delicious meal.

Our issue was our waiter. He was unattended to our needs and incompetent. We waited 15 minutes after being seated to receive menus. We then waited another 15 minutes to order. In the interim he walked by our table with one drink at a time for other tables. The food was good but it took an exceedingly long time to receive our entrees. In addition, my chicken Campagnolo was brought out without the sausage. The sausage came out 3 minutes later on a separate plate and another waiter yelled at our waiter for this oversight. Our low gratuity was also not appreciated by our waiter but it was commensurate with his level of attention and service.

Over 3 hours due to long wait for food from kitchen. more than 1 hour and 15 minutes between app and main course. 3 simple pasta dishes and a fish. Waiter needed to apologize numerous times.

The restaurant itself was excellent. Confusion over the Open Table reservation made for a very unpleasant experience with our first waiter, who was rude and rushing. I had him replaced after consulting with the manager. Our second waiter was very courteous and provided excellent service. The food was very good and the ambiance perfect! It was Mother's Day. Note to OPEN TABLE please make sure that the restaurant is still serving when you confirmed an 8:15pm reservation. I received a call from the restaurant that the kitchen was already closed because we were three minutes late!

This restaurant has gone downhill. Maybe they are understaffed. Drinks were miserable. Noise level made us feel like we were dining in the local Pizza Hut. There was nothing extraordinary about it other than the bill!!!

Our food was not good Ordered medium & all 3 were RARE, Ordered no cheese - it came with cheese. American cheese was only cheese option, Italian sandwich was fair - completely dry! Soup was fine but leaning table had to be adjusted as soup was not staying in bowl. The manager - or we assumed that he was never checked in on our meal either did the waiter. We could not wait to leave! This is not the same Polpo we often enjoyed when we lived in town 10 years ago.

We celebrated our daughter’s birthday at Polpo and it was our first time there in over a decade. Throughout the evening we kept asking ourselves what took us so long to return. I do like the food and the service here t here but they never have your table ready when you arrive so they encourage you to go to the bar and get drinks. The food is consistently excellent and the service attentive. It’s a little too noisy for such and upscale place.
