My wife and another couple went to Gravy for the first time. Service was good when the food was ready to be served but unfortunately it took 30 -45 minutes for our entree's to be served and to make matters worse 2 of the meals (spaghetti and meatballs) were ice cold and the other 2 dishes were luke warm at best.

The manager did stop by and asked how the food was and we expressed our displeasure. He did comp the meals and gave us desert for free but to be honest we would have been more than happy to pay for our meals just to have them arrive within a reasonable time and hot!

Probably will never go back there since the food was mediocre at best!

Went here on a date night with my wife. Cool place. Server was friendly and quick. Drinks were no bueno though. If I order an Old Fashioned I do not expect to not be able to taste any bourbon at all.... Appetizers were good. Duck meatballs were outstanding. I got the family gravy. I do not have any complaints other than the ricotta. Rarely do you find an Italian spot that actually makes legit Sunday sauce made with San Marzano tomatoes, meatballs, sausage, and ribs all cooked in the sauce. The ricotta is not necessary nor is it authentic. Other than that, they have a great wine menu and reasonable prices by the glass.

Experience was wonderful but the menu wasn’t the one advertised on this app, which is why I chose to eat at this restaurant. The food was still great, though.

Birthday - everything was delicious but my husband said Amedeo’s has better lasagne. Our calamari was very tasty And the gravy (sauce) is ver y good to me. Not too thick just right

As I don’t live near Raleigh, when I do are usually look forward to coming to gravy for a special treat. Very disappointed from start to finish. I have a certain expectation based on my previous visits and things had changed: first the soda that was in my mix drink was flat because they serve it from plastic containers without carbonation. This lead to an expensive awful tasting next drink. As many tables around us received dinner rolls/garlic knots, we did not receive any until we asked halfway through our meal. When receiving our meals and asking if we could have an à la cart sausage and meatballs, I was charged four dollars plus for a piece of sausage about the size of my thumb. Bto meatballs I received for $2.25 with the size of Swedish meatballs. At an Italian restaurant know less. I think the drinks not having carbonation was probably the worst but our waiter, as Nice and accommodating as he was, was too busy to be the bartender as well as the server. This has not been what our previous experience have been, with the exception of the no carbonated sodas that made our drinks, very expensive drinks, not taste good.

I saw plenty of 5* reviews and people raving about this place but there was about 20% of people that said the best part of the meal was the appetizer. Unfortunately, we now fall into this 20%. Service was fine, food came out quick but it lacked the flavors I was hoping. Risotto balls and Calamari for apps, Lasagna and Chicken Parm for entrees and a blueberry bread pudding for dessert (was their special that night). Lasagna was COVERED in a thick layer of cheese and greasy but actual portion of pasta was very small - and we like cheese but this was just too much. And the chicken portion of the parm was fine but the sauce was nothing to write home about. Tasted no more flavorful that what comes out of the cheap canned spaghetti sauce (Hunts!) from the grocery store. And the bread pudding was definitely the worst bread pudding and probably one of the worst desserts we've ever tried. It was not moist at all - very stale and the flavor was off big time. All in all, we didn't complain at the restaurant or anything but we defiantly won't be going back or recommending this restaurant to anyone. There are far better Italian restaurants in the city of partake in.

The restaurant was packed, but we had a reservation. Our server was assigned 2 large tables (our party was 7) and The other table was having some sort of celebration. We tried to get her attention several times and she acknowledged we were trying to get her to come to our table, but she never came. We were served our meals and had not been offered a second round of drinks. We were drinking wine, so 1 bottle does not go far for 7 people. We had to ask the person dropping off our meals to get us another bottle of wine. The food was served to the table moderately warm but definitely not warm or hot. Two people at our table had spaghetti and meatballs and the noodles were chalky/sticky and the meatballs were hard, small and difficult to cut. One person in our party ordered the lamb shank and it was very dry, barely warm, and tasted more like a turkey leg. It was not seasoned well at all but the couscous served with it was delicious. All and all the food was not good. I was very shocked with the quality of the food that the place was so crowded.

Just celebrated my first wedding anniversary. We ate here the day we got married after hurriedly canceling our original plans a couple months before and suddenly realizing we forgot to find a place to bring our party on Halloween 2017. Fast forward to this year, the food is still great, it's a fantastic looking place with wonderfully pleasant hosts and service. Great wine suggestions as well when my chianti choice was unavailable. Would definitely recommend. Get some tiramisu when you go, it hit the spot!

The food was the worst I've had in Raleigh and was basically inedible. We tried several appetizers and dishes, and the only one that was edible was the lasagna.

Scratch made Italian food. What isn’t to like? The calamari app was great! My wife went with her old standby, Chicken Parmesan. I got the tagliatelle bolognese. Scratch made and wow. We will certainly be back.

Really good food. Helpful and attentive waiter (unfortunately I can’t recall his name). Went with wife to dinner Saturday night. Restaurant was full and loud but not so much that you couldn’t have a conversation. Would definitely recommend to others. Risotto balls, casesar salad, family gravy entree, and shrimp risotto entree, between the two of us. All were very good.

Went out for a date night. I was torn between two choices and the waiter recommended the gnocchi. It was SO good. I liked the sauce, the cheese, and the gnocchi was just really really good. It was a small portion compared to most restaurants, but that works out well, so you can get dessert. I got a cannoli, which was good. I wish there was a larger dessert menu though. The bill was not bad at all, for a nice night out.
My husband had lasagna, but he has a cold and couldn't really comment on the taste.

Food was delicious. Except I was a bit unhappy that my risotto was very very hard. The flavor was amazing but the texture was really off. The garlic knots were amazing and so was the kale salad. Would've given it a 5 but the risotto failed me. :(

Great food, moderate prices. I had the eggplant pie which was delicious. My husband had the lamb shank and loved it. My friend had the sausage and meatball and macaroni dish which she also lo ed. Service was fantastic. It was my friends birthday and she got a free dessert!

My Book club enjoyed our evening at Gravy. The service was impeccable and the food was delicious. I felt it might have been a bit to "loud" for our small book club but overall, enjoyable.

I must be quite honest, the food didn’t taste fresh, my husband’s lasagna was very dry. My pasta plate had no seasoning, and I had to request some pepper and a little bit of salt. We ordered A variety of four things on the plate. We received a nice portion of toasted almonds And olives, three tissue paper transparent slices of salami and to samplings of cheese. I have to be honest I get bigger samples of cheese at Sam’s on Saturday. All of that was almost $15. They raved about the bread that came with the board and it was terribly hard, almost crouton like. The rolls they served we’er Barely warm and soaked in olive oil. When I picked up the rule to break it apart it was a fourth of an inch soaked in olive oil all around the bottom which is a little excessive. Not somewhere will I will go again

The service was excellent, and the food was decent. I liked my dish, and so did my wife, but she said she's had better renditions of the Chicken Piccata, good as it was. It's worth trying again sometime soon.

We had our reception in the wine cellar at Gravy in 2017 and came back to eat on our first anniversary. The food was fantastic, as usual! I love the risotto balls, and the chicken parmigiana was amazing. Always a great experience dining at Gravy.

Greeted with a smile and seated as soon as we arrived for our reservation. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. There was a problem with the food that I ordered and the manager came to our table and apologized for the mishap, gave me a choice of another entree on the house. The roasted chicken, I recommend. The tarimisu is a delight. I recommend gravy .
