   We were there for a late lunch and, thus, the beginning of happy hour. We had squash blossoms to start, which were perfectly fried, stuffed with a delicious creamy corn, and topped with a spicy tomato/veggie medley. Excellent. We then had the prosciutto pizza with arugula. The thin crust made the tasty toppings even more delicious. Finally, we had gelato for dessert. We enjoyed half priced glasses of wine with each course. A late lunch turned into a memorable celebration!

   We really enjoyed the cauliflower app. Unfortunately, we did enjoy our server Jason J. He was abrupt, awkward and rude to us. We saw him interacting with the tables around us, but not us. It took away from our experience.

   The restaurant was extremely busy the closing night at the Saenger Threatre however, everyone was moving. They must have a good system. Maggie was great! Kept an eye on us and the ENTIRE Room

    Service was poor. Food - antipasti was good, 1st course was extremely salty, 3nd course chicken was ordinary. Picked it because it was across the street from the Orpheum so as not to get out in New Orleans. We will not go back there

    Food tasted great but the portions were small. Waitress wasn’t invested in our dining experience; we asked about certain dishes and she didn’t know about them. It was difficult to get her attention, when we needed her; she was more concerned with the tables drinking alcohol.

    For the very first time after many visits we were disappointed in the food. The fried kale was completely different than its ever been. Very soggy and not crisp and lite as in our past visits. The Brussel spouts were good. We got a white pizza that’s was ok again not as delicious as the past. I hope this isn’t the trend because we come to Domenica every time we go to the Saenger.

    Absolutely fantastic from start to finish. The Affettati Misti was the perfect starting course, and everyone loved it. The chicken liver pate was a bit rich for my taste, but was still a wonderful addition. Drinks were all fantastic, and the Tagliata they dry age in house was phenomenal. Only issue we ran into was the first Tagliata coming out overcooked, but the staff quickly remedied the situation and brought out a perfectly cooked replacement, as well as giving our table a round of drinks on the house (we checked down to server suggestion and ended up with the IL Bruno, which was fantastic). Would definitely visit again next time I'm in NOLA.

    My husband ordered a bottle of wine. Only to be disappointed to find out that it would finally take 3 choices to finally get a bottle of wine. Poor stocked wine list. Why do you bother, if you are not going to keep it updated. Then just sell what is available.

    If you’re staying at the hotel for a conference and need a place to go for nice-ish dinner with a large party, this is your spot. If you want a romantic Italian date spot, this is absolutely the wrong spot. It’s the kind of place where they serve a mixed green salad and the greens are all frisée. Our fish dish was good. The pasta looked good. This is not an italian restaurant, it is an Italian-American restaurant that commits the kind of food offenses that drive Italians mad when done in their name. The servers don’t understand the difference which led them to say some straight up offensive lecturing things to my GF, who they did not realize is from Rome. It’s quite loud, which made sense because almost every table was a party of 6 or more.

    We were looking forward to this based on other reviews but were sadly very disappointed. The first round of drinks ordered were made completely wrong, so we ordered an espresso martini instead…. this was the worst espresso martini I have ever had. It tasted like watered down coffee and I don’t think it had any alcohol in it. The initial drinks also took at least 15 minutes to arrive to the table after being ordered. Once the food came, it was nothing short of mediocre. The pasta tasted bland and is not worth the money. Overall a 2 star experience

    My first time visiting Domenica and I enjoyed myself. Ordered the meatballs, Brussels sprouts some cocktails and then pasta. The Brussels sprouts were 10/10. I enjoyed the pasta with shrimp, I would have just preferred my pasta be a little more Al Dente

    My chicken liver pate had no moscato gele on it. The bread that came with it was hot and made the pate melt instantly destroyed the aroma and flavor. The Tagliatelle pasta was undercooked, and the tiny amount of mushrooms were not porcini. If they were porcini, they tasted like they came from an old tin can. When this place opened it was a gem! It makes me sad to see another great New Orleans restaurant go down the tube. 😔
