Good location, good food, a bit pricey especially the wine. Lovey service.
Excellent food, soup was so filling I couldn’t finish my main course! Lamb was delicious, coffee was fabulous
Based on the fact that french fries were not cooked or served properly (they were overly salted and stone cold the first time and the second time, they were dry and overcooked), the Penne all Sambuca had NO flavour whatsoever and the hamburger was sub-par. I would not recommend dining here. I asked for a 6 oz glass of wine and was charged for the 12oz. How do mess up french fries twice???
We were there for almost 2 hours for breakfast because the service was so slow. It wasn’t even that busy so I don’t know why it took so long to get drinks and food. Would not go back
Good, reliable food
Stayed there for almost 3 hrs... did not feel we were being rushed out
Professional wait staff
Food was exquisite and service was exceptional!
We han a great experience today dinning in there tonight. The service was professional, the food very tasty and they even exchanged one of our plates as it was a bit spicy for my grandmother.
It took 42 minutes to get a greek salad with chicken and a chicken sandwich.
The greek salad had more non edible greens than edible but could not send it back due to the wait and the fact that the Waitress didn't come by until it was time to get the bill.
was offered a free coffee or desert but given the amount of time it took for the food, there was no way to take advantage of the offer.
Went for my twins 12th birthday; it was okay no acknowledgement of birthday even though in the notes and they ran out of shrimp at the buffet to make your own pasta and also ran out of bread. But food overall good
We meet a the hot house because it is close to Union station and I pick up someone who does know well and we meet a friend and we all have a good time. We learned that summerious is better but at least the Wine was half price.
Tasty food, great location in St, Lawrence Market neighbourhood.
I love this restaurant, it has the best ambience. You can meet with friends and family and actually hear your conversation. The staff are all friendly and helpful. The food is always great.
This is what all restaurants should be like.
Great spot for Saturday brunch! Really enjoyed ourselves before heading to the Market!
Great food, service and location
The new outside patio is great! Love the poke bowl :)
The restaurant is good, however the value is not there. The food was good, but $8.00 for a small salad served in a bread/butter plate was pretty sad. This should have been classified as a side salad and priced at $4.00 or less.
Quite loud .
Table was sticky on the edge - hmm...
Ribs were clearly parboiled and that has no pork grilled flavor :-(
Salad was good and filling , loved the mint leaves
Had supper on the patio. Some street noise with a few sirens but the booth was very comfortable and the people watching was fun. The ceasar and market salads were delicious as were the lasagna and penne sambuca. The service was very good. Adding Bacardi rum to their selection would have made this perfection.
Excellent restaurant with great service and good. The buffet on Wed night & Sunday brunch are beyond excellent!! They've been in business for 25 yrs...they have it figured out. The patio is amazing...the'vee done it up beautifully. A bit noisy out there during the day due to construction going on just west of them on Wellington but does not interfere with conversation...just a bit annoying.
My daughter loves this place and we came to celebrate her birthday. I have been there a few times at her request and as always it was great.
Best all u can eat brunch in Ontario. Thanks for all
I am always enjoy the patio at the Hothouse it’s a perfect way to spend a summer evening. The service and food are usually good and the atmosphere is low key and relaxing. The only issues I had on this visit was that the hostess never checked me in and I received an email from open table stating I was a no show and that the cappuccino machine wasn’t working. Overall though I had a lovely experience.
Service was friendly and patient. Wild boar pasta was delicious. Mixed green salad was not fresh and didn’t live up to the description. Lovely patio on Front, surprisingly quiet.
I ordered beet salad with chicken breast. My salad only had 3 small pieces of beets. The chicken breast was too dry to eat. The waiter did not return so I waited until another waiter noticed I wasn’t eating and was trying to get som attention. He kindly got me a properly cooked piece of chicken. Most in my group were finished by this time. Our waiter came to remove plates but never said anything to me. No apology. I will not retort this restaurant.
Delicious brunch for Canada's day. The food was really good, with different options!
I was impressed that my request was filled for an outdoor table - on 2 counts: the request went through (I’ve had problems with requests in the past) & that Hot House honoured the request (many places make you take your chances on outdoor seating). As usual, Hot House staff was very friendly & efficient. The food was very good.
It was good as always
I have enjoyed Hot House for over 20 years. I noticed a huge change in the menu when the restaurant changed hands and I didn't like it. After speaking with the manager I noticed he listened and changes were made. The food is back to HH standards and the menu now has better choices...more variety.
Was pleasantly surprised at my dining experience. Had an early dinner (6 pm ) reservation so the large restaurant was relatively quiet. Yippee! Liked the menu and my salmon dinner was delicious. My friend ordered a cobb salad which she said was very good.
Our server was very efficient and kept refreshing my water glass. Nice choice of wine as well.
Server was lovely--food very disappointing and a change for the worse. Pizza was hard/burnt, toppings were burnt--like cardboard. Aglio/olio rappini pasta wasn't tossed in olive oil so it was a hard lump in the middle of the plate--not twirlable, dry and inedible, no olive oil sauce, about 3 delicious cloves of garlic- needed much more of both. This used to be my favourite dish and the fact that the kitchen didn't know that giving a guest a hard clump of dry pasta is OK was very disappointing. I asked if the jerk cauliflower was vegan/had dairy (allergic), was told no it's fine as it-- and it was served on a creamy/mayonnaise based (?) undescribed sauce which was obviously dairy based, so i could only eat some of the florets. I asked my friend to specifically go there and I was actually embarrassed at the food quality. The people and servers are really lovely, I'm sad to lose this place off my regularly go to list.
As usual, a very pleasant place to have lunch. This a regular "go to" place for myself and family/friends.
The food was perfectly fine but not amazing, and the service was very slow.
One of our ‘Go To’ restaurant choices.
Our server was exceptionally accommodating. We had a baby in our group (she was very helpful) and someone wanted a modification to their main dish (done with a smile). Food was as good as always.
My seafood pasta puttanesca was wonderful but the codcake appetizer was disappointing, very little flavour. I also miss the more colorful decor from before the latest Reno. It's a bit lacking in character. Everyone in our group of six was happy with their mains. Loved it that they offered smaller and larger pasta portions.
Long time favorite spot to have lunch especially when catching up with a friend. Not noisy like some places so you can actually have a conversation. New menu is pretty good but not as much variety as they once had. The cod cakes are delicious!! Great service too!!
We ate here for Sunday brunch. It is a lovely restaurant and there was a wonderful variety of food.
Friendly bar staff made us feel very welcome which was only for a drink on our first night in Toronto. During our discussion the restaurant was recommended and consequently, we returned 3 nights later. The excellent food was complimented by a great table and service.
It was the perfect b day dinner for my friend visiting from Japan
Good selection of food, with plenty of options for groups with different tastes. Friendly staff.
