Agnolotti was good, Quail was amazing, shared porterhouse and John Dory, both were average, clams that came with the fish were inedible. Will give this place another chance.

The old hobbit experience was preferable, with an Hors d'oeuvre hour in the cellar, offering many varieties of Hors d'oeuvres which were not only a culinary delight, but a mechanism for social interactions with the other guests. A full bar in the cellar is a great idea, but removing the bar from the parlor left guests idling and bored for an hour between the courses. The chef’s and the owner’s aspiration for a Michelin star has rendered this restaurant run of the mill and trendy.

Fantastic dining experience. Arrived early, had cocktails and met with fellow diners in the cellar. The cellar contained a substantial wine collection, with a lot of excellent wines from all over, but perhaps lacked a bit of depth in vintages. The food was overall excellent. The amuse bouche served 5 different finger appetizers, some were hits, couple were misses. The other courses were very delicious and beautifully presented. Well it may not be quite Michelin Star worthy, yet, but it was a very pleasant fine dining experience that's well worth the price.

We dine at the Hobbit, the first time for our anniversary, and since then to celebrate someone and something special. It truly is a dining experience. It is an extravagant (money wise) dining experience, but it also so elegant, and genteel that, especially when wanting to celebrate someone who is a foodie, it has been worth it to us. This last visit had been planned since March of 2020 when our reservations were canceled due to covid. We were finally able to bring our young friends (one of our daughters' best friend, and her husband, for whom my husband officiated at their wedding in 2019.) They looked up the menu, information on the fish bein offered, etc. It was an excellent evening of dining, visiting and celebrating.

We had a fantastic experience. We’ve visited a few times before but it had been many years. It was just as great as ever. Thanks so much.

The food was good. As for the service, the waiter brought us a bottle of sparking water when we asked for a standard glass of water, and the bill added gratuity on top of the tax instead of just the meal which is against dining etiquette. They also charged for coffee without informing us. When I pointed out this faux pax, they responded that this is their standard protocol.

This was our first time dining at The Hobbit. What an experience. From the cocktail hour through the dessert course, everything was perfect. The delectable menu, the wine pairings, the superb service, all outstanding. Between courses, we were invited to visit with the chef in his kitchen. So fun! We will be back soon!

We had a wonderful time for my wife’s birthday at The Hobbit. Loved drinks in the wine cellar first followed by the five course dinner which was excellent! We had a nice talk with the Chef during the intermission and had a quiet break on the upstairs balcony. The renovations are exquisite with more to come we were told by the owner. We will be back soon.

This is a "Must Do" experience if you are anywhere near the OC area and you enjoy fine dining. The Hobbit is not just a great meal, but an enjoyable experience, from the cocktail hour before dinner in the wine cellar, to the amazing staff, the intermission where you get to walk around the restauraunt and meet the Chef, to the full dining experience. Highly recommend. Matt, the owner, is amazing and will take good care of you!

It was a great experience enjoying some wine prior to dinner. Food was delicious and it was nice that the owner spent time at each table informing us about each plate we would be partaking of.
