The food was scrumptious. The chef sent a lot of amuse bouche before the meal started. It was a delightful evening of dining. Go with someone you want to spend hours with.
We had table closest to entrance. It was too noisy from the bar/bistro side. Very nice meal, but may be a bit overpriced for what we received.
Amazing service, delicious food.
Very enjoyable evening
Awesome food and wonderful service.
The food and service were extraordinary.
Amazing food! The perfect fusion of Indian and Californian cuisine
The best restaurant of my life! My three friends agree!
This was our second time dining at Campton Place and the new menu format (with choices) is excellent. One of us dined exclusively on the vegetarian options and the other a mix. Both meals were great examples of what modern Indian cuisine can achieve. Brilliantly creative and maxed in flavor, each dish is world class! If you really like food, you must dine here. The wine list is outstanding and the service as professional and polished as it gets. Impressive!
Fabulous service, presentation and experience. The lamb was the best I ever ate
Innovative, delicious, elegant, sophisticated and at the same time casual and inviting. No pretense here and they have the quality of facility, food and servuce to be pretentious. I look forward to going back soon!
Super expensive and food wasnt that great for what we paid
Had the bigger tasting menu — opting for vegetarian though with a few seafood atarters. Every course was on point, was there last time in the winter and enjoyed the completely changed up seasonal menu
Can't fault a thing! Worth every cent, service was attentive and polite and the food was speechless !
Thank you for making our trip
My wife and I dined here in a recent date night. We ordered the Spice Route menu with wine pairings and were amazed with the food and service! Chef sent out many “bites” that he specially created, and were not on the menu. Highlights from the menu were the spice pot and the duck breast. Each course had distinctively Indian flavors. This was our first experience at a Michelin started restaurant, and we were not disappointed. In all, the food, service and ambiance made this the best meal either of us have ever had! Will definitely return.
Very nice restaurant. It was very quiet if you wanted to have a conversation. It was an expensive dinner.
Absolutely loved it!
Great service! Loved the staff! The problem here is the atmosphere. They desperately need a renovation to meet the standards of a real Michelin star restaurant. Chef could embrace Indian flavors a bit more but food was good but looking for a stronger presence and more personality on the plate.
The food there was phenomenal with very unique flavors
The food was outstanding! I was surprised that we were given the last booth by the kitchen when the restaurant was practically empty? Is that the protocol? I wonder what the reason for that would be? When we left it was almost empty ...
Wonderful Indian cuisine in an elegant space. Fantastic flavors and great service. Highly recommend the Spice Route tasting menu with the wine pairings which were lovely and highly worth the extra cost. Loved that the sommelier explained the choices for each wine pairing. Would recommend asking for a booth if its available.
One of the best meals I’ve had in San Francisco....even better than Atelier Crenn! Thoughtfully designed menu with authentic Indian flavors. The surprising and unexpected amuse bouche thrilled us. On a fun note, I discovered what a purse pillow is for the first time 😊
Anniversary. Best restaurant in the bay area
As always a perfect evening
The meal was amazing the staff was kind and brilliant the whole evening was wonderful. Thank you.
Fabulous place with outstanding food and exemplary service!
It was A-mazing through and through- from the starters, to the wine, to the mains and the deserts!
Food is excellent as usual, one of my favorites
Amazing experience. Food was incredibly delightful and the chef included some off menu dishes to make the experience even more pleasant.
Incredible experience of Indian Fine dining to date
Sophisticated and spectacular in all ways.
It’s a tasting menu and the food was good enough. The menu selection itself was full of strange choices and I was forced to eat lots of food I’d rather avoid.
The ambience was good enough but not as good as such a high end restaurant should have.
I’m really not sure it deserves those Michelin stars. Nothing was quite amazing. Not bad either but just ok.
Disappointed this time. Been much better in the past. Thought this would be the place I’d come back to for my birthday every year, but our last dinner was just not up to par. In addition, the woman hosting our table was rude and made us uncomfortable. Sommelier was good - the only aspect of the evening that met expectations.
Interesting, Classy Indian fusion food. Wife and I came here on a Sunday evening for a 6 PM reservation. We were promptly seated in the dining room which was spacious and well decorated. The waitress came with a cart of champagne and offered to start with the “champagne course”, describing different champagnes. I told her that I wanted a Tangueray martini and wife said she wanted a glass of sauvignon blanc. The martini was peculiar – rather cloudy with at least four olives though I had ordered one with a twist, not olives. It tasted rather like crushed olive and vodka. This tasting menu only dining room had two menus- a vegetarian one and a “Spice Route menu” which is described as California cuisine using South Indian heritage and seasonal ingredients from Northern California (both $155). The Spice Route menu consisted of several appetizers and foie gras ($30 supplement), fried vegetable- deep fried fiddle head, vegetable croquette, Maine lobster, fish , and a choice of duck breast or lamb rack, and a choice of mango or strawberries. A few of the appetizers, like a small caviar cup with pureed potatoes on bottom, were exceedingly delicious. The vegetables had spices that were too strong for wife. The fish had too sour a citrus topping. We both had the lamb, and I had the foie gras supplement. For dessert, I had mango and wife strawberries. The food was overall intriguing- an interesting Indian fusion. It succeeded well with some, e.g., foie gras, lobster. Others were a bit boring (may be similar spices in succession?) or too strong and not delicate in flavor though the presentations were splendid. Overall, wife felt like a judge in Iron Chef competitions, where she could find both compliments and faults in each dish. The service was prompt and good if a bit pretentious. The ambiance was quiet and classy. We left feeling a bit mixed about this place -maybe worth another visit when we feel like an experimental Indian fare, maybe in the bar/bistro.
Delicious combinations of different flavors and unsurpassed exceptional service.
Excellent experience at Campton place!
Campton Place welcomes you from the moment you walk through the doors. The ambience was very pleasant and quite soothing. Drinks at the bar are reasonably priced for San Francisco standards and are generous in the pours.
We were greeting by the hostess and immediately told of r table was not ready. There was only one couple seated in the dining room. We went to the bar and ordered two drinks. When we were invited to be seated in the dinning room everything went well in the beginning. The sommelier offered us champagne and we found him very efficient and knowledgeable. It was after this interaction things went south. Our waiter must have been new because service was slow and awkward. The food was positively excellent, in presentation and taste but Our waiter...... He disappeared, when we were seeking refills in water I could have reached for it myself since we were seated next to the water station but 30 minutes went by and no coffee table explanation as to why he had vanished. The hostess brought us coffee and apologized for the excessive wait. Our waiter then reappeared, dropped the check and that was it. In summary, food was excellent, the waiters need a little help. We will be back for dinner one day. ,
My wife and I went to dinner and it was expensive. Food was good. In contrast, some of the waiters showed not to be really friendly.
