   Other than it's location across from the Fox Theater which is great we rated The Livingston a 3 star. The food was ok but it wasn't worth the price. Service was again just ok nothing bad but nothing great. Overall its just a 3 star restaurant in our opinion.

   There is no finer Italian experience besides actually being in Italy than La Grotta. Our server, Josh, was so helpful and knowledgeable about the menu and the wines. A+ experience and a most-do when in Atlanta!

   I have been to LIvingston three years prior to this year with many of the same guest on Mother's Day. We were very disappointed with the quality of the food and service for the ridiculously inflated price of $95. It just was not worth it. The air conditioning made it uncomfortable throughout the experience and the room just did not have the ambiance that it once did. We will definitely look for a new place to dine next year and all agreed that it would be our LAST dining experience there. For the increase in price, it was very underwhelming and disappointing.

    We were seated for 20 minutes before we got our only glass of water and were told to be patient because it was show night at the Fox and the bar was backed up. The dining room was half empty. We never received our wine. We paid our bill and walked in the bar and our glasses of wine were sitting there, with a lot of condensation on the glass so you could tell that they were sitting there for awhile. We finally ordered two glasses of wine at the bar and drank them in the bar. Never again.

    Food was decent. Understaffed. Poor management. Servers just gave up. Didn’t care. Didn’t try. Waitress was nice enough, but overwhelmed. Manager was rude and dismissive. Basically told me to get over it. Was really unbelievable.

    We decided to eat at this restaurant because of the location across the street from the Fox Theatre. And it was a great location. The food was also delicious. But the service was abominable, and when we got our check, it wasn’t itemized. We thought the bill was very high and asked to see a breakdown when we discovered that a 20% tip had been included. Now we know why the service sucked - there is no incentive to provide a good experience. Our waiter didn’t even tell us included. We almost double tipped - Will not go back.

    We had theater tickets at the Fox across the street for a 7:30 show, so we arrived at 5:45. The kitchen was very slow, and we didn't get our food until 6:45. The portions were small and overpriced. My "sides" that came with my entrée were one mushroom and 3 stewed Roma tomato halves. My daughter got one fingerling potato and three roasted carrot sticks for her "sides." (We had asked the server if we needed to order additional sides and were told our entrees came with sides.) The wine list was nothing special for a high end restaurant. We had to rush through dinner and dessert and rush across the street to the theater, which created a lot of stress for what should have been a fun, relaxing evening. We were lucky though. The table next to ours didn't get their food until 7:10 and had to send it back to keep from missing the show. We were underwhelmed and won't plan to eat there pre-show again.

    We arrived for our booked reservation 15 minutes early and discovered that the restaurant did not have appropriate staff levels and people with reservations a half hour prior to ours had yet to be seated. There was a long line at the front desk and no one from the staff came out to give any updates or information. The people who did get seated did not receive menus. I will say that, when I did get in contact with a staff member, they were kind and professional. The restaurant decor is beautiful as well. Unfortunately, we did not get a chance to eat there because they were running so far behind that we would have missed our next event.

    I am generally reluctant to write poor/long reviews. In this case, I believe it is important. First good news: the gentleman host who brought us to our table: excellent-very attentive, trying to handle parking issue. Zeta, waitress, who finally attended to us, (because assigned waiter was "busy") was outstanding. Brent (I think that was her name), GM, was also very accommodating/apologetic/attentive for the incredibly obvious atrocious situation. Seeing empty tables, it was obvious that they had throttled back reservations because of lack of staff and lack of kitchen bandwidth. Brief summary of our experience for the two of us on my date: when I called in advance, I was told that there would be a two hour CR for pkg and I would pay addition for Fox event rate. Brady, the valet mgr insisted that was not true and required $50 payment upfront. After seated at the table, it literally took 20 minutes for anyone to pay us ANY attention. Literally!!! It took 5 minutes more to get water. It took 40 minutes to get cocktails. And at the same time to get bread and butter served that was stale and untasteful. We were told that we could not depend on having dinner served in time for us to make the 8:00 show at the Fox. At one point, I saw chef in the open kitchen, LITERARY jumping up and down in frustration, and then rubbing his eyes and face in obvious anguish. I am not exaggerating. Ordered appetizers for dinner since the entrée would not arrive in time. Cocktails finally arrived 45 minutes after we were seated. Actually only one of us received a cocktail, TY,attentive waitress Zeta noticed the chip glass of the other. With another long wait for its preparation got it 10 minutes later. Then the appetizer dinner arrived. Food quality was average at best. GM walked me over to front desk for parking credit. Directed to Brady. He snarly directed me back to front desk. This was 755. Obviously just went to the show. This place needs serious work before u consider it.

    Waitstaff needs training. Servers are friendly but just a bit disorganized. Entrees were slow to come out over 35-40 minutes. The short rib and the pork chop were very good. The 2 salads were tasty - one peach /one pear. Management needs to get it together. Also description of entree is not accurate. Menu states dish comes with fingerlings but none were to be found. Fortunately we ordered a side for the table.

    The ambiance/location is great. The server was also very nice and personable. Unfortunately, the food (which is arguably the most important part of a dining experience) was lackluster. It wasn't bad - just not well-seasoned. The mussels were bland; the calamari was too salty; the ravioli had pretty much no flavor and the foamy sauce was somewhat off-putting and added zero to the dish; the salad was also ho-hum - no really exciting flavors. Also had the Bees Knees cocktail, which I've actually had before at this restaurant and remembered it being quite good; unfortunately, I did not have the same experience last night. The one bright spot for the menu was the bread - the olive bread was good, especially with the butter. It had been several years since I had been to Livingston for dinner - I think I'll likely not go back again for another several more years based on this past experience.

    They were out of a side dish on a very limited menu so had no sides. How can you be out of potatoes? Would only cook a dish medium rare so I wouldn’t eat that - cook won’t do otherwise. Very expensive for what we got.

    This restaurant is conveniently located in the Georgian Terrace hotel across the street from the Fox Theater on Peachtree Street in downtown Atlanta. It was the perfect place to have brunch before the 1 o’clock show at the Fox. Our waiter was very attentive and the food was delicious! Will definitely have a meal here again.

    Absolutely slow, they advertise being a location perfect for dinner before a Fox Show. Well we got seated just after 6pm for a show at 730pm. Our food had to be voided because it wasn’t going to be ready 45 minutes after ordering it at 630pm. Floor manager Brook was hostile about the whole situation and gave us a lecture about fine dining taking a long time to cook to order. It also took the bar 30 minutes to bring a glass of champagne, so I guess fine dining at The Livingston also includes a need to cook the champagne to order too. They were just clearly understaffed on the floor and in the kitchen and booked more tables than they could produce food for ahead of a theater night.

    Waiter not assigned to table. Sat for 18mins before getting notice. Food, chicken wasn’t fully cooked, steak passed of as filet was fatty and couldn’t chew. Paid $200 something for three people and meal not worth $20. Would have been better off grabbing chick-Fil-a

    I’ve always wanted to eat here before a show at The Fox. Beautiful hotel and restaurant but food was just okay and very overpriced. My husband wanted a salad with his meal but they don’t even offer a salad. Doubtful we will go back. Our waiter was very nice as well as the staff. Service was a little slow, especially since the restaurant wasn’t busy. Just an ok experience.

    The "Hot" buffet food was cold. Quality and taste good, just cold. However, Oysters were very low quality. Overall, if it had been a $30 buffet, might be acceptable. But this was a $100 buffet. Lots of better restaurants to go to!

    Restaurant requires a credit card to book. Then added 20% gratuity to a 2 person bill. Tried to pay 1/2 in cash and tip and 1/2 in credit card and the server took the cash tip and the auto gratuity. I pre-paid parking - $40! - and they could not refund (although parking was free with validation for my dinner guest). Food was good but service was very slow. Whole thing felt like a rip off.     One of the more disappointing meals I have had in a while mostly due to poor service and what I believe was an effort to defraud me. Food was actually good, but our server was never around, forgot to enter our meal into the system causing delays and we never got a side that we ordered.     have been wanting to eat at Livingston for quite some time before a show at the Fox, but could never get a reservation. Snagged a reservation finally and was underwhelmed with the food. We got the fried calamari as an appetizer and it was probably the best part of the meal. My husband got the sea scallops and I got the tuna crudo as my meal. The diver scallops were ok, but not seasoned well and the tuna crudo was absolutely tasteless. I asked for soy sauce to dip just to add a little flavor. It was not the worst meal I have had, but certainly not the best. I tried it, but will probably not go back
