We sat upstairs at the high tops. The bar area is very small, so it was relatively quiet and intimate. The bartender was friendly and attentive. We both really liked our cocktails. The food was really good, though the fries that came with the fish and chips could have been cooked a little longer to stay crispier. I had ordered the prix fixe, but by the time dessert came around, I couldn't do it, and unfortunately both options would not travel well. The bartender did me a solid and got me a cupcake to take away--classy!

charming, warm and inviting with fabulously attentive wait staff. Food was good, spouse loved the mushroom ravioli, I found the chicken parmesan good but not unusually so. Spaghetti was ordinary. bisque soup and desserts were outstanding! a real neighborhood place that was very welcoming.

The food was fine - the service was... okay. The waitress who served us was adorable! Super nice and friendly. But the service itself was very (but very) slow. I understand that the narrative of shortage of staff is an issue (still). But as a business, at this point, they all have to figure it out how to be more efficient, with the current demand and staff availability, in order to properly serve customers - especially if they charge a 7% service fee...

Avoid brunch at the buttery. The seating is in a windowless basement and the service is poor. We left and went to Frenchie around the corner. What a difference! The atrium is gorgeous, the food was delicious and the service was outstanding.

The Buttery has alway Ma been a favorite of ours. So we went for my partner’s birthday. The food was very good and atmosphere was pleasant. Our server, started out good but had a VERY poor finish. We ordered cocktails, then starters and dinner. While I was still finishing my entree the server delivered a dessert menu and walked away. He later returned to take my plate and ask if we wanted anything from the dessert menu. We said no but we’d like coffee, with milk and sweetener. He delivered our coffee and sweetener, I asked for the milk and went to get it and returned not with the mike but the bill. I indicated that I was still waiting for milk. The milk finally arrived. We finished and paid the bill. We never saw our server again and walked upstairs to a totally DARK and abandoned cafe. LITERALLY NOT A SOLE IN THE PLACE! It was very odd. It was only 9pm! Clearly, everyone wanted to go home.

The food was just okay but incredibly overpriced. It shouldn’t cost $75 for two people to have brunch and that’s before the tip.

Absolutely ridiculous prices. $6 to add avocado to your breakfast sandwich or salad. 10 to add homefries to your breakfast meal. The food was average. Not bad. Not the best I've ever had. The ricotta fritters were yummy but $11 for 3 (essentially donut holes). Would not return primarily because of the cost in relation to the meal. Left spending $135 for 3 people for breakfast.

Maybe it was an off night? I made a reservation on Open Table for standard seating in the restaurant. When we got there we were seated at a high top at the bar. I asked the waiter and expressed dissatisfaction….he just walked away. The drinks were good. The food was better than average but each dish missed the mark. The burrata was a good concept but not as soft or creamy as it could be. The kale salad was really good but the salmon was a bit overcooked….not sure we would go back.

Celebrated my father-in-law’s birthday with brunch on a Saturday at 1pm. We were seated shortly after 1 and had a great meal and hospitality experience. While many think of The Buttery as their coffee/pastry stop, they would be well advised to make reservations and enjoy a full service meal. For those with allergies, they were very accommodating and offer gluten-free bread as a replacement on any menu item.

I booked a table for 9am Saturday (for two.) We arrived at 8:30am and asked if we could be seated (no one was seated in the dining area) and were told to come back at 9am. It was cold and icy (sidewalks) outside. I admit we preferred to be warm and have a conversation, indoors. We walked around the neighborhood for 20+ minutes and returned around 8:55am. We were checked-in (digital panel) and waited an additional 10-minutes before being seated around 9:05am. We were presented with Brunch Menus (not breakfast menus, or many of the breakfast items) where the prices were 50% or more than what I saw (online) for breakfast items. Asked for a Breakfast Menu (but breakfast isn't served in the dining area. Lesson learned.) That seemed a little disingenuous (but everything else was superb.) Our waiter was exceptionally informative and available. Our food (mushroom omelette and Greek yogurt bowl) was memorable. Both meals looked like food magazine cover photos on their respective plates. My friend continued to rave about his omelette after we left (and he doesn't give praise, easily.) Our black coffees (3 for myself, 2 for Charlie) were hot, strong, and served in tall, insulated cups. Delicious. There is a 3% kitchen (non-tipped) staff cost added to total receipts (we gladly paid as this establishments encourages patrons support everyone involved in service. You can ask for this to be removed-but please, don't.) In the future, we'll arrive earlier, get a table "Up Front" and order off the Breakfast Menu.

Only complaint is table basically in a hallway where waitstaff and patrons are going back and forth behind you all the time. At one point we had high chairs being lifted over our heads! Rethink these tables please. As great as your place is it put a damper on our dining experience.

As usual, our special table location request was accommodated, the food was excellent, the atmosphere was comfortable and overall, the staff was responsive, especially our server. Unfortunately, our server had a glitch with the bartender (who wasn't that busy) so we found that delay annoying. Can't wait to return!

We have always gotten our food to go or eaten outside when the patio is set up but we went indoors for the brunch. We were sent to the lower level we didn’t even know existed and sat at a small little table. Had am amazing breakfast with a great server and simply loved it. I had pancakes with fruit and home made maple syrup which was exactly what I wanted and loved. My husband had the omelette with a side of potatoes which where amazing. Love this place. Small and quaint and cozy. Great food and great service.

The food was just okay. Really run of the mill - essentially diner food. The real issue was the absolute lack of effort to accommodate allergies. Our waiter was informed about an issue with an allergen touching a dish after two meals were made incorrectly. Instead of remaking the food, he simply swapped the food from one plate to the next. When confronted with this and told about the allergy issue, he removed the allergen from the plate but did NOT remake the full plate. It was a little disheartening to see the allergy issue being taken to lightly.

Great food, great cocktails, cute upscale yet authentic diner atmosphere. One picky thing is that there are several doors that het opened and closed a lot since on the other side of the restaurant there’s a cafe where people are coming and going frequently. Since it was so cold outside it was super drafty and we were all a bit chilly sitting there. But that’s what you get in the winter. Overall we had a great experience.
