My date and i had a fun time the food was very good except for the soup way to much salt. Just a little disappoint that the tvs were not on to watch the ball drop in New York and no hats, noise makers, or count down to bring in the new year! Will return for birthday dinners but not on New years eve.

Ended up walking out after an hour and a half with no food. About 45 minutes to get a table (which I had reserved about a week prior) and then another 30 minutes waiting after ordering at the table until we just left. Honestly been a couple times before and was impressed, but this time really makes me wonder if I ever want to go back.

We did the couples price-fixe menu where they select the courses and pair those courses with carefully selected wines. This was a very exciting night for us. The food was delicious but the wine it was to be paired with was never served with the food. In fact, we needed to request the wine for the third course. The staff was nice and professional but I think they were overwhelmed. Part of that was understandable since we saw other guests being unfair and demanding, which sadly reflects on other guests as the staff was appreciably spending more effort pleasing those rude guests. We were mistakenly billed for two couples menus but our server was brilliant and apologetic with his handling. Not the greatest first impression of Faces but we do hope to return as the restaurant is changing their name. The location and ambience was lovely!

Great Moroccan menu with good spices. The steak was first overdone, then underdone, and then our waiter kind of forgot about us, but we love the atmosphere and the desserts we're outrageously good!

Wonderfully delicious food! We started with the Prawn Burrata Bomb which was served with a spicy tomato sauce and was a fabulous starter! For dinner we had the Seafood Tagine, Pot Roast Tagine, and Seafood Polenta - AMAZING! For dessert we shared the Crème Brulee and a triple chocolate cake - both to die for! They are going to be closed for remodeling at the start of the year, but I would highly recommend trying to make it in before that if you can!

Took a long time to get waited on, then was very rushed. Entree came out right after salad, barely had a chance to start on the salad. The restaurant was freezing cold. Ate our whole dinner wearing our winter coats. The temperature was so cold the food got cold before we could eat it. The least they could have done was serve it on warm plates so it didn't get cold so fast. I had the steak which was supposed to have a garlic butter melted over it. The garlic butter was frozen solid, didn't even begin to melt before the steak got cold.

Our appetizer was wonderful (scallops). My friend's dish was very good (sea bass with squash). I could not eat my choice (tagine seafood). It was way too spicy, hot and had a bitter taste which I have come to find out was from too much tumeric. I was so disappointed. Our server was very gracious and helpful, offering several solutions. I ended up taking it home and greatly diluting the sauce. The restaurant's atmosphere was inviting. I would like to return, ordering another choice for dinner.

Food was mediocre at best. My salad was entirely ends of purple cabbage and escarole - both old and bitter. My husband's lamb tangine was too sweet and the veggies are reduced to mush inside the tangine. We won't be back. There are too many other options around with good food.

We really appreciated the detail provided by the wait staff (Eli?) on the different menu options and the specifics of how each menu item was prepared. We also appreciated the flexibility of the kitchen for the younger kids / teens in our group. Loved the place and will be back!

We really enjoyed the quiet ambiance which is also quite romantic in the evening with the candle light. The maple syrup pot roast tagine was very delicious. The meat was extremely tender and the amount was perfect. My husband had the lamb tagine which was a little bland for his taste. I expected more from the Harira soup because I have had it before at a Moroccan friend's house. The flavor was there, but many ingredients were missing. We had creme brulee for dessert which was not special at all. We have had better ones in other restaurants. Also, the espresso did not taste like espresso, but more like regular coffee poured into espresso cups. Overall we had a nice experience - our daughter had given us a groupon for a date night. The menu prices are quite high. A regular dinner for two will come to about $100 or more.

Wasn't sure what to expect my first time here. Knew David Fhima's reputation of excellent food from his earlier restaurants. Faces did not disappoint! The food was exceptional! I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys a variety of eating choices, warm atmosphere, moderate to upscale priced options and food that will satisfy any palate!

We have appreciated every restaurant we've tried that was run by David Fhima . Since we've traveled extensively in North Africa and the Middle East, the tagines etc. at the former Fhima restaurant and at Faces have been particularly appealing to us. On the recent Saturday when we had a pre-opera dinner at Faces, our server was friendly and professional, the table near a window was ideal, and (oh so thankfully) we found the gentle noise level so much more inviting than the majority of restaurants we go to in the Twin Cities. We are moving into an apartment near Mears Square and would love to be frequent diners at this lovely restaurant.

With the exception of one or two dishes, overall the food is bland and menu doesn't change often. The service is almost laughable, it can be THAT bad. The manager is stern and does not treat his customers well. The hostess or host is the same person who does the table waiting, as the restaurant tends to be empty even on a Saturday night. We've tried it out on a couple different Saturday nights; even during the popular jazz festival across the street, the restaurant remains empty. Despite its great location, the lack of customer service and pricey yet bland food is not conducive to repeat customers. It is very sad.

We were there on one of the hottest days of the summer. It was so warm in the restaurant I lost my appetite and ordered something less hot. Mistake. The strip steak was mediocre. One of us ordered the Braised Lamb Tangine. Excellent. The sour dough bread has a beautiful texture and taste. Appetizers were tasty and the bread pudding with caramel sauce was delicious except that the homemade ice cream it came with had ice crystals as though it had been refrozen. Taste OK but not smooth.

I wanted to like this restaurant and went with out of town guests before an event. Food was good and brought out as it was ready so was hot. Drinks were pricey and we sent one back because it was really awful. No argument for doing that and replacing it. Service was slow, however even though there were very few people in the restaurant and many empty tables

We enjoyed our time at Faces because the food was good. But we had a terrible table. The restaurant was very empty when we got there, and we were seated in the back corner next to a big curtain that kept flowing over our table, making it hard to talk to each other. We asked to be moved to the window seat, but we were told that all those tables were reserved. I'm not sure why our reservation didn't qualify for a better table. So, Open Table reservation makers-beware! You must have to be very important to get a good table at Faces. Regular people are seated in the corner next to annoying curtains.

Mothers Day Brunch buffet $49, for organic meats - I get it - but we didn't eat any. Had we known the cost we would probably have ordered off the limited menu we were not told about. Food was good. Service could have been better. Ambience was great. Noisy - it's not for people with hearing trouble.

I was really not that impressed with the Mother's Day Brunch. Our waiter forgot to mention the prime rib until we were almost done with our meal. The prime rib was served very under cooked, without an option given to us as to how we like it done. Very overpriced for the service that was given.

Our main courses were good. It is nice to have a place in town to get Moroccan-inspired food. However there were also a few weaknesses. Our table wobbled. I pointed this out to the server but he didn't do anything about it - and it wasn't that he was exceptionally busy. ( I was surprised by how few people were eating here at 6 on a Friday night.) We were also disappointed by the desserts. The pastry in my Napoleon (Milles Feuilles) was so tough I had to use an extra spoon along with the fork to pull it apart into edible pieces.

I've always wanted to give this place a try, but the price always scared me away. So when my friend suggested HH in St. Paul, I wanted to give this place a try - mostly so I can see what it looks like inside. It's very cute and I enjoyed the atmosphere. I am planning when my BF and I can come here for a nice fancy dinner! About HH - You don't need a reservation and it's only in the bar area. Our bartender was great and I enjoyed the cocktails he served us! Food to try off the HH menu: Fried Chicken Skewers, Sliders, and Fries - all of them were so good!

My girlfriend and I really enjoy Faces' food overall - we've always thoroughly enjoyed their filet mignon, grass fed meats, and wonderful French pastries/desserts. As such, we were super excited to attend one of their season/occasional brunches - mother's day, easter, etc. Unfortunately, the food selection and quality aren't a sufficient cost -to-value ratio. At $45/person, I can not recommend attending one of their brunches. Maybe if the price were more like $20/person I wouldn't hesitate to go back. I'm disappointed by the steep cost and underwhelming experience. Some food notes: - Bacon - greasy and fatty. - Sausage - greasy with an unpleasant aftertaste. - Prime rib - super disappointing. This was more like pot roast in the guise of prime rib. - Ham - the one grass fed meat that was truly great. Very flavorful and delicious! It was the one excellent meat served. 1/4 is pretty sad. - Omelette to order - 2 choices only: lobster or three cheese. The 2-egg omelette was over oiled, overcooked, and underwhelming. - Fruit - good but seriously lacking in quantity - Roasted vegetables - same as the fruit - good but seriously lacking in quantity. - Pastries - excellent as always - Greek yoghurt with granola - fine - Chocolate fondue with strawberries - Strawberries were good. Didn't try the chocolate. - French toast - looked excellent, but we were too full to order any. Not a bad problem to have, but sad we didn't try it. Overall, Faces' brunch is far from the worst or best brunch experiences I've had. It sits somewhere in the middle, unmemorable, except for the cost. As an aside, for some reason, they don't have enough spoons on-hand. Our waiter, who was awesome as always but I forget his name, informed us that they are very low on spoons. This seems like an easy fix, from a management perspective (order more spoons), but an odd issue for a restaurant to have.

The ambience, setting and menu entice. The food was nicely prepared and presented. But the pricing seems off; a little high for the experience. The menu is focused, which is a good thing, but not when you're told one entree is not available, only after ordering it. At this level of cost and pretense, the server should also be able to describe the preparation with some level of expertise.

Although the menu was in transition to lighter spring fare (so a couple of the items were not available, which I found out after trying to order one of them) what remained was great. I had some of the most delicious beef w/risotto ever, and my husband's salmon/risotto dish was fantastic as well. Our server was fantastic, making sure we had what we needed, without being obsequious.
