Our meals were very good, however two of our favorite things about Abe and Louie’s were the hot rolls that used to be served, they were so soft and buttery and delicious, and were discontinued, and we were disappointed. Also our cocktails used to be served with an ice bucket, to keep the drink cold, and that was also no longer done. They were two very nice touches.
This is one of our go to restaurants when in Boston. The food is consistently good and service is always over the top!
Exceptional service from our waiter.
Our server Anthony was outstanding. Excellent food and service!
great place but it ain't cheap. That's all I want to say but apparently I have to write 50 characters
Delicious food, excellent service. I always dine there with friends and family when in Boston.
Special dinner celebrating my daughters engagement! Simply fantastic!! Awesome night!
Simply Excellent xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Tim was our server and was exceptional. He was both professional and entertaining, a perfect balance for our dynamic group. Food was excellent with the bone in Filet that was on special being the only issue. Both who had it complained it was dry.
Was very pricey. Very loud. Food was good but thought better in past visits. Service was excellent.
Abe & Louie's is one of the best spots in Boston for a steak and seafood ----- the sides are great ----and the deserts are solid. We'll be back again .....
My server Alexis Reyes has definitely set such a high standard of what service should be at a every restaurant. Thank you so much for such a great experience and good food.
We went for my birthday and it was a fantastic evening. Sublime steaks, brussel sprouts, and bleu cheese potatoes. The key lime pie was absolutely delicious. Best of all, the service made us feel immediately at home and relaxed. Thank you!
I took my son to dinner to celebrate his 25th birthday. The food and service was outstanding! The dessert was delish!
Another great experience at Abe & Louie's. The food is unbelievable from the creamed spinach to the au gratin potatoes to the mouth watering steaks. The after dinner espresso martinis are a must.
Excellent food. Excellent service - Bobby Dee is a fantastic waiter. Wonderful evening.
I ordered a medium aged new york sirloin and I don't think I'll be able to eat any other steak ever again. Amazing flavor, perfect sear, outstanding service. Truly fine dining!
Overall, the food was good. The server was pleasant but failed to provide bread and butter with our meal. It would be nice if there was a larger selection of signature cocktails.
My second time coming, it did not disappoint. I got to call ahead and reserve and a bottle of wine. They decanted it for me ahead of time. The service was great. The food was on point. I will go back. And although I don't encourage doing this, we stayed till almost 1am and I believe they closed at 11pm. We never once got asked to leave. We were simply allowed to lose track of time. You cannot find this opportunity many places.
1yr Anniversary w gf
Our service, from the hostess to the bar to our amazing waiter, was outstanding; very accommodating. Food was amazing.
We took our son for his 24th birthday and it truly was the best experience all the way around. Anthony our waiter was superb. The food was not only the best we ALL ever had but it was brought to the table and taken away in a perfectly timely manner. We will definitely return
It was a really nice day with my cousin; another one for the books.
Nice birthday dinner for our son!
Attentive service. Great food.
A colleague recently reminded me of this gem. I had not been there for 15 or 20 years -- and I'm happy to say it is still consistent and excellent. The filet mignon was truly "like buttah," and everything else was done perfectly, too. My special dietary requests were all met without issue, and the server was great. Even the valet was a good experience! I will definitely be back before another 15 years passes!
Service was upbeat and friendly. Filet was cooked perfectly. Clam chowder was tasty and not overpowered by any one ingredient. Salads could use a little more dressing. Chocolate cake for birthday was a nice touch!
The service was impeccable. We were celebrating our engagement, and they brought us champagne immediately upon being seated; such a nice surprise! The wine suggestion from the sommelier was perfect. The food was delicious. We ordered the 40oz Porterhouse for Two and the Lobster Mac and Cheese. The steak was cooked perfectly and was so tender. The mac and cheese was way more lobster, than mac or cheese! When I thought I couldn't eat anymore, the waiter outdid himself by also bringing us a complimentary slice of chocolate cake, which was to die for! All in all, it was a wonderful experience and I will definitely go back the next time I'm in town.
We chose Abe and Louie's as our special night out dinner while on vacation, and it lived up to every expectation. Yes, it is expensive, but the meal we had, and the top notch service, were worth every dollar. We had our two children with us, and they were very accommodating though most high end restaurants aren't great with kids. Our youngest (7) was a little hesitant with the adult menu, and our waiter was quick to offer up some off-menu items for younger diners. Our oldest (10) dove right in and ordered the swordfish steak for himself, with my husband ordering the filet, and I the blackened ahi tuna. We also got a side of the lobster mac and cheese to share (a very generous family-sized portion, filled with big chunks of lobster). Everything was perfectly cooked and utterly delicious. Somehow we managed to split an apple crumble and lemon sorbet for dessert, which were also wonderful. Kudos to the staff and kitchen for a very memorable night out!
Great meal and service. Would definitely come back
The service was impeccable, and the meal was delicious. We were in town on a business trip, and this was recommended by one of the locals. We had a seafood tower and the Chilean Sea Bass with Tomato Salsa, and it was delicious!
Very good meal and service. Complementary dessert brought over for a birthday, very kind!
Waited too long to get our table. Reservation was 845 and we didn’t get our table to 930
I did a reservation with many weeks in advance at 7:30pm on Saturday, we got there and it was very crowded they seated us 30 min after our reservation, that was very annoying, I waiting so long because my boss gave me a gift card, food was ok, service was really good, they are not serving any more the delicious bread that was very disappointed.
Gave a 4 star due to having a confirmed reservation and arriving on time, however still had to wait 20-mins past the original reservation time.
Hands down, one of the most amazing steaks I've eaten, cooked to perfection. Lobster was also delicious. My wife really loved their pomegranate martinis. This place has one of best bars ever, so live.
The food was amazing per usual. The service was slow and inattentive. We purposely told and reminded our waiter we had a time constraint. We got there 20 minutes before our reservation to grab a drink, which came quickly and was delicious, however we had to wait 15 minutes past our reservation to be seated. So we reminded the server because it was busy and now we were more pressed for time. We waited and to his credit it was busy, but still waited. Took 15 minutes before we could order apps. Dinner came eventually and it was great. (Try the bone in ribeye!) Waiter didn’t come back after plates were cleared for another 15-20 minutes so we had to skip dessert and coffee and grabbed Starbucks on the run because we had a show at 8. Food was good but you can get the same or better at other high end steak houses in Boston that are less crowded and have more attentive staff....especially given the prices.
Excellent food in a great atmosphere. My only quibble would be that the booth we (4 people) sat in was a little tight and cramped.
While in Boston we always try to do a pit stop at Abe & Louie. There are some signature dishes that we always order at Abe’s. The bacon is a must and of course a bone in ribeye with some blue cheese sauce. We visited on a friday and the place was packed. The noise level was quite high but we managed to enjoy the experience. We’ll definitely be back again but perhaps at a quieter time.
great steak, overall great food experience, friendly staff with great attention to customer comfort
