We had a wonderfully unique Thanksgiving dinner on 11/23/23 at Loi Estiatorio. Maria Loi was right inside the door to greet us. We watch Life with Loi on PBS. She is an amazing and gracious woman and chef. Her restaurant was warm and inviting with soft, soothing Greek music playing. Both my husband and myself had superb meals. I am vegan with a night shade allergy, so it is extremely rare for me to find much besides lettuce salad on menus. I had options! The impressive list of soups were vegan but one. I had the delicious cannelloni bean soup and my husband had the rich beef bone marrow soup with perfectly prepared crimini mushrooms. We shared a FRESH shredded romaine salad with shallots and then enjoyed our special entrees of artichoke hearts with spring peas for me and tender octopus on a bed of warm mashed chick peas and tomato-based Greek stuffing with chestnuts and ground beef, pine nuts and cinnamon for him. For dessert, he had a Greek Coffee and a delectable Greek apple tart in phyllo. The service couldn’t have been more genuine and caring. It is clear all are part of Maria’s family. For the holiday, the menus covered traditional Thanksgiving fare as well as Maria’s Greek specialities. That included a pre-meal bread basket with Loi’s jarred feta yogurt spread for husband and a bottle of her fabulous EVOO on the table that I loved just tasting on a plate! Start to finish, this was a splendid holiday event!! We will be back and back and BACK!

I found this wonderful gem of a restaurant after watching the owner/chef’s TV cooking show on PBS on Sunday mornings. We enjoyed the pre fixe lunch options immensely, sharing the delicious dips served with grilled pita and the grape leaves as our appetizers, with me getting the salmon and my trusty companion, the spinach pie - both delicious and filling. We finished our meal with the melt-in-your-mouth baklava as our dessert option. Our maitre d’ was engaging and lovely, as were the rest of the staff. A lovely, quiet break from the holiday craziness of NYC at the holidays. Highly recommended!

The food was fantastic! I have celiac disease and was able to eat most things on the menu. The server was knowledgeable about every dish and what was safe for me. We also spent time with Loi herself who is the chef. She took time to share recipes with us and we thoroughly enjoyed her! Can’t wait to go back.

Hands-down, the best Greek meal we’ve ever had! We haven’t been back to NYC since before the pandemic, but now that we live outside Philly, we will be returning often just to visit Lol Estiatorio. This is a small restaurant perfectly located near Central Park. The atmosphere is cozy elegance, the type of place that feels like home and not any pretentiousness. The owner is delightful — warm and engaging. Massimo serenaded diners, which was such a nice touch. His voice is beautiful. Everything we ate was delicious. Often with a restaurant, there are hits and misses, but this was one hit dish after another. Our server was lovely and offered great advice on the menu and wine. My husband loved his salmon, and the Greek lasagna tasted like comfort. At some restaurants that dish can be overly rich and heavy, but this was perfect. We had dessert to go, and the baklava was exceptional. An amazing meal, and we can’t wait to return!

The branzino is always delicious here. The simple preparation lets the fish shine and they have a nice wine selection to accompany your meal. We also enjoy the stuffed grape leaves. The yogurt and chocolate cake were delicious. Loi is always a great place to dine.

Wonderful food, great service, the timing of each course was perfect. The stuffed egg plant and branzino for two were outstanding. This is the best Greek restaurant… can’t think of one better.

We had a lovely dinner. The spreads are delicious, my Branzino was perfectly cooked, and my husband's Orzo with Seagood was excellent and we got good advice about with Greek wine to order. Maria Loi even stopped by to say hello We will be back.

WONDERFUL authentic Greek food, and I am 100% Greek and have eaten my grandmother's Greek cuisine since I can remember. The ambience is lovely and Alex and Maria Loi, the owner, make you feel very welcomed. It is my go-to restaurant for Greek food!

We were excited to dine here, as it got such great reviews and we love Greek food! The waitress brought us all house made pita chips with feta dip, cucumbers and hummus for my gf and dairy-free friend. All delicious. There was a menu of soups! Yum! We opted for the chicken soup after I asked if it was the same as Avogolemono soup, which I love. The soup tasted nothing like Avgolemono soup I’ve ever had, including in Greece, and by my Greek dear friend. I can’t describe the taste, all I know is it was not so delish, and had these big chucks of chicken that were tasteless and we had to cut them up to fit in our mouths. I also had the mussels. There were plenty of mussels, but the broth just tasted salty, and had too much oregano. That’s all I could taste :( So, disappointed in what we paid for, but delighted by the free little hor d’ourves given, and the scoop of fresh greek yogurt with honey and nuts given at the end of our dinner.

Fantastic Greek food. Best in Manhattan. Great service. One of us was in powered wheel chair, and they went out of way to make it accessible. Maria Loi is one of the most creative chefs around, and takes care of every morsel and lso of every customer.

My friend and myself arrived a little before 3:00pm for our reservation on Saturday to celebrate a birthday. Even though we were early, we were greeted warmly and welcomed into the restaurant. I had requested being located in a quiet section because my friend is severely hard of hearing. Given the fact that during the time we were there, only 2 other parties were served, this was ideal for us to communicate without "noisy" interference. Our food was delicious, the wait staff was attentive but not intrusive. We were surprised to receive complimentary desserts (presumably related to my indicating we'd be celebrating a birthday when I booked the reservation). All in all, we spent a delightful afternoon and would be happy to return in the future.

We have never had a bad meal here, and the service is always outstanding! Sorry we missed seeing Maria but Nicole was so helpful and friendly. The Branzino was amazing, as were the prawns, halloumi, spreads and village salad. And the dessert, 4 small bites, perfect! Can’t wait for our next visit to NYC so we can come again.

Food and service were outstanding! Our waiter, Edon Alovic, was extremely knowledgeable and very helpful and friendly. We had an extremely fresh whole Branzino fish, which had been flown in from Greece the same day. We started with an excellent green soup and finished with an assortment of outstanding desserts. The red and white Greek wines Edon recommended were excellent. We will return whenever we are in NYC.

I took a long-time friend to Loi's for a birthday dinner celebration! She loved it! The staff came out with a piece of cake and a candle to wish her a Happy Birthday and when we left they all again wished her a HB! The food was just great! The service is friendly, warm and professional! I had a previous dinner with out-of-town relatives and was so impressed that I knew that my friend would enjoy it!! Thank you!

My husband and I had a great time at Loi Estiatorio. Nicole made us feel welcomed as she greeted us when we walked in. Oxana was our server and bartender. She made the best Ketel One martini. It's a simple drink to make but difficult to get it just right. The food is so fresh and delicious. We had the octopus that was so tender. The calamari was the only plate that was just ok. The eggplant casserole (Musaka) and the Branzino was outstanding. We ordered dessert and cappuccinos. They gave us 2 free deserts because we were celebrating the day we met. The Walnut cake, Chocolate cake, Ekmek Kalaifi, Loi Greek Yogurt is so delicious as well. Their own Greek olive oil is so fresh. We also met the owner and Chef Maria Loi. She talks to all the diners. She is such a lovely person. This place is a GEM!!!
