Service was great. Staff very helpful and cheerful and accommodating.
Steak was fantastic! Chocolate molten was to die for!
Good food and nice staff. But, slow service and forgotten drinks, apologies offered when we were told that we would have to wait a while for what we were ordering. Odd. Could have been awesome. But with the oddly off service timeliness, it was just ok.
Wonderful always a pleasure.
Always a great time and presentation
Have been coming to 555 since 1983... as a kid! Always has been consistently great.
I know Julie is the Icon but Lisa our waitress last Wednesday night was terrific.
I don’t write reviews, but felt I needed to for this occasion. We have a group of 8 for a nice business dinner. Location and ambiance was perfect, server Aaron was great. One bartender working on Monday night, which caused a delay in getting drinks out. Meals arrived, which some of us looked confused and this is not what we ordered. 2 minutes later, Aaron comes back and says we might have brought you wrong order for some. Not good on there part. My steak incorrect, after figuring all out, my medium rare plus bone in ribeye came out mooing and not edible. By this time most have finish meals, so I did not want another attempt of them bringing me a new steak.
The fact that meals were mixed up and they did not know what was what was a little frustrating. Server Aaron did his best and was not to blame. When you spend over $1000 you kind of except better organization with delivery.
Overall decent time, they tried to make us happy but in the end 8 people let not very satisfied
Sorry guys, just the truth
Stopped in for dinner with a group of five while in town for a conference. Food was really great. They don't call themselves a steakhouse for nothing. The prime ribeye was amazing. I had mine Oscar style and they didn't skimp on the crab.
Excellent like always
We had a great time! Natalie was awesome!! Very attentive and a great attitude!
This is one of the best steak houses around. Great service, great food, great ambience. Do yourself a favor and go you won’t regret it!!
So disappointing. Although we did luck out and get a table in a quieter wine cellar room, the noise level was horrible at the bar and in the rest of the restaurant. The service was poor. We were served our soup with no spoon. Had to flag the waitress down to get spoons. The crab soup was basically vegetable soup with a few shreds of crab. My partner sent it back and asked for clam chowder. It arrived and again, no spoon but the busboy caught that and got a spoon. Within 2 minutes of the chowder arriving, we were presented with our main course. So we told them to take the soup away. The timing was rushed and very unprofessional.
The steaks were good but the flaming hot cast iron plate was a nuisance. We would touch it be accident and it was HOT. A tray full of dirty dishes was on a stand in the room throughout our meal. Dessert arrived and within a minute so did the check. In this kind of restaurant, you expect to get the check a little while after the dessert. Very rude. Again we felt we were rushed.
This was for a birthday dinner and when dessert came the waitress said she didn’t put a candle on it. Why is beyond me since at the next table , there was a birthday and that person had a candle. Just a really bad experience all around
A fine linen, china, and crystal dining experience. Our server was extremely helpful and attentive to all the details of our evening. The request I made for a pleasant view was seen to, however, upon seating, as an obvious two-some, my female companion and I was referred to as- gentleman, right this way.
Some really great food. One strange thing, however, was that I asked for a filet cooked medium well and server asked if I wanted it butterflied. I said no and they delivered a delicious steak, but it was MAYBE an inch thick. I wondered had I asked for butterflied, if it would have been more like a carne asada. Anyway, it was a great piece of meat and very tasty.
Service was good, but super inconsistent (maybe an off night?).
Ambiance is great. The place has a funky set-up, and the table weren't all that comfortable, but the look is really cool. Some great drinks and a nice wine list are available and, at least on the Friday evening that we dined, there was a great live piano man!
While it wasn't perfect, this is an excellent choice if looking for good food in Long Beach.
I had the 45 day aged 36 Oz porterhouse cooked medium my wife had the six ounce filet medium well, both steaks were perfectly cooked the way each of us like them could not tell the difference between the New York strip and the filet on my porterhouse both sides were melt-in-your-mouth tender. Service was wonderful. It really does get noisy when the restaurant is full though. Great place for any special occasion
Food and service are excellent. Only drawback is the noise level. We were originally seated near the pianist and had to virtually yell across the table to each other. We were reseated farther away but the ambient noise is very high - probably due to the building’s age. Still a very enjoyable evening, just not a quiet one!
Once again a good female server made the difference. Service and food prior 2 times was disconcerting and I questioned returning.
The chateaubriand was exceptional and my birthday quest cant wait come back for more of the same.
Service and food was great.
Best steak I have ate. I took my wife for our first anniversary and she really loved it. Rodger was our waiter great guy and very attentive. It can a bit pricy just heads up. This is usually a special occassion spot. So if you low on cash save up.
Huge Is restaurants very romantic setting lots of staff great wine menu friendly staff
Romance hard to drum up!
Great steaks and sides. Expensive ala carte. But Saturday night noise level so loud, hard to hear each other! Piano player needs to dial his volume down by about half, as it is right in the middle of the diners.
Movers and shakers all around, well-dressed crowd. But everyone talking LOUDLY over the other LOUD diners and piano. We thoroughly enjoyed our Chateubriand and were also thoroughly glad to be done.
Try it week nights...early...!
My family and I came here to celebrate my Mom’s Birthday and had a wonderful time! The food, service, and ambiance were exceptional! One of my favorite places to dine - thank you very much 555 East family...
Not what I expected. Clam chowder soup had bacon, which menu didn’t indicate that. Had it changed. During dinner, had to look for our waiter a few times. After dinner, looked again for our waiter, had to ask another waiter for To Go plates and the check. The bus boy came and we asked again for To Go plates..he took the plates to pack them up and the our waiter came with the bill. I thought since I made reservations online and specified it was his 50th bday I thought they would sing or maybe give him a birthday cake or something special, I mean I didn’t want to embarrass my husband and tell the waiter out front and in front of everyone. But nothing. I definitely won’t be back. I should have gone and stick to Flemings Steakhouse where it would of felt special.
Great service and substandard steak. I had a 30 day aged bone in New York that was ok with sauteed mushrooms with a not very good sweet glaze sauce on top. Not nearly as good as February 2018 experience.
We had a great (bone in) Porterhouse and T-bone to share. Our waiter, Aron, advised us perfectly on what (size) steak to chose. We requested a different table twice (to enjoy the ambiance more) which was no trouble at all. Steakhouses are always pricey but the steaks where exeptional!
Wonderful time as always! Great service and the steaks are always cooked perfectly!
Food was not that great at all and very expensive. It was SO loud! If you want a good steak go to Ruth Chris.
It was our wedding anniversary and we sat across from each other but we were sat in the back corner of a room and it was so loud we had to yell to hear each other. On your anniversary you want to be able to share a nice meal and enjoy a special date night. The food and service were amazing but this place was too loud for a date night.
Way Way too noisy!
We were moved twice and lastly found a quiet but lovely table in the glass enclosed patio!
We celebrated our wedding anniversary. The food was fresh and tasty and the service we received was outstanding. It was a little cold inside at first, but seemed to warm up a bit as our room filled up. We ordered the 45 day aged rib eye steak and a couple of sides and it was delish! It was loud in our area, but nonetheless, we still had a great time. We spent nearly $200 for dining, tip and valet service, but it was a special occasion!
It was my friend's birthday and his favorite thing to eat is steak. I had heard about 555 East and was so excited to take him here. Unfortunately, the reputation did not live up to the hype. My friend ordered an almost $80 daily cut Ribeye, he wanted it full of flavor and was suggested to get it blackened. When he received it, it was so bland it was like they had forgotten to add seasoning to the steak. Rather than waste the steak, he smothered it in steak sauce and ate it, with the comment, " you cook a steak so much better, should have stayed home." my mom and I ordered the shrimp pasta, shrimp was cook perfectly and delicious, the dish as a whole was ok. Let me back up, the appetizers we ordered was the bbq shrimp and the steak tips, both were delicious (dip your bread in the shrimp bbq sauce (yum). Ok now for the dessert, I ordered house special butter cake, mom ordered lemon tart, and my friend ordered the sherbert. The sherbert was fantastic, but who can mess that up. The lemon tart was runny, it was like it never set up, quite impossible to eat. The butter cake was just plain terrible, it was so dry and lacked flavor. I could not believe it. I should have taken him to Ruths Chris. Next time I will not make that mistake.
My mom was in from out of town for her birthday and we chose the 555 for lunch. The first person we encountered was The hostess, Holly. What a wonderful way to start our experience. She was so friendly and sweet. She sat us on the left patio as we requested a quiet table. Our server was Mel. She was very knowledgeable without seeming uptight. She was funny and friendly and made my mom feel very special. After lunch, she brought a dessert with a candle but did not do anything to embarrass my mother. Very professional. I also want to mention the busser, Memo and the food runner, Luciano. Also, the manager that day was Melissa who checked in to make sure everything was perfect. Altogether, this team made for a great experience at the 555.
My server was very attentive and not overtly so. The steak and veggies were great and wine recommendation was spot on.
We spent our 15th wedding anniversary here, and it was special. We enjoyed great drinks and food. Service was prompt and attentive, we definitely are coming back!
First time there for dinner. The steaks were awesome. Had many appetizers that were all tasty as well. Had some great bottles of red wine and they have a long wine list. Service was second to none. Would definitely go back.
We celebrated our wedding anniversary here, and our fathers birthday also. Each time the service was outstanding and the food overwhelming. The atmosphere is very romantic for any occasion and the children that have been present on different times have been well disciplined by their parents. Our waiter Alex was a true gentlemen and with a good sense of humor, always checking on us periodically.
First I didn’t like being seated by the water station but they quickly moved us to another table where the lighting was terrible had to use the light on my phone to look at the menu besides that everything was great. Our waiter was great and very helpful my steak was cooked to perfection and the house drink The Ocean Blvd was delicious.
