   Love this place. I had only had the sandwich at the walk-up counter inside Rachel's Ginger Beer at U Village, and I was huge fan. But, the full menu at the West Seattle location is so much more than a chicken sandy! We had the Beet Salad, Musumi, and Poke (delicious) and then shared the Loco Moco Rice Bowl—what a combination of flavors. I can't wait to return and try more from the menu, soon! Aloha!

   We drive an hour to enjoy Ma'Ono and every time, it's worth it. Food is special, and not what we find at most places. Our server, Bruce, was efficient, friendly, informative, and very welcoming.

   The food, was excellent, don't miss the Fried Chicken obviously. It's fantastic! Those sweet rolls are also wonderful, so soft, it's ridiculous.

   Great chicken and sides! Very enjoyable atmosphere... lively and comfortable. The side dishes were outstanding! Chicken very tasty .. i was looking for Nashville hot chicken and this wasn’t spicy at all. But cooked perfectly. The service was bad tho. Took our orders and quickly brought our food and drinks, then never saw a server again. We got up to go ask for the check. Drink refills would have been nice, but we still had a great time and left happy and full. Het the seasonal beet and apple salad!

   Liked reserving via Open Table and advisement to order chicken ahead of time. Beck, the server was great!! Old Fashion was poured great. Nice selections of whiskeys. Bok Choy was done perfectly and enjoyed chicken sandwich. Honestly though, I wasn’t impressed with the half chicken - the skin was dark brown not golden colored and their wasn’t any taste because it seemed over-cooked and the meat just wasn’t juicy. I know I’m probably in the minority because so many people rave about the fried chicken, it just wasn’t to my liking. On the banana cream pie, I wished it had more of the Haupia (coconut) taste. I would return to the restaurant because the atmosphere, bar and select other foods were great.

    Ma'Ono is fantastic for a lively, delicious brunch. The fried chicken, soup, and standard brunch fare are all tasty and consistently good. This is a lively place so good for groups and kids. Maybe not the best for a quiet romantic place for brunch, but that is a tiny drawback.

    Ma’Ono is one of my favorite places to go to when I’m hankering for fried chicken. The fusion of Hawaiian and Korean cuisine is right up my alley. These guys have been around for awhile, but the quality is still top notch and did not disappoint.

    Overall experience was good. The only reason why I am not rating them higher is because there were no vegetarian options for dinner. Our one poor guest had to eat the mac salad appetizer and ask them to leave out the meat in the fried rice appetizer.

    Their “famous Fried Chicken” was over-breaded, over-cooked, & over-rated. Sides were pricey and not delicious. We usually like to order good tasting food unlike that what we can make & serve at home. Especially if it’s pricey. 3 adults, 3 different entree dishes (including a very average burger), and all 3 disappointed.

    I love this spot already, good food and service is the standard. This time we were seated quickly and right by the window which was awesome! Jay set us up for success and our server was fantastic! The food was quick and delicious as always. Ma’ono rocks!

    My team took our factory partners out while they were in town, and Ma’ono not only was able to accommodate 11 people easily, but the service for such a large group was on point as well. Lots of chicken and whiskey was had, and everyone had an awesome time!

    We are regulars here, but will not be regulars anymore. While we love the people there and the service is good, the quality of the food has gone down significantly. First, they changed the fries they serve there to a cheaper, fast-food kind of fries. Next, they have changed their hot sauce used with the chicken and on every table to more of a pepper sauce. They’ve eliminated the quarter-bird and it seems as though the quality of the chicken that they use has also gone down. Wish this was different, but it’s just not the case.

    I have a hard time eating at Ma'Ono in a way that does not happen at any other restaurant. I have a fairly severe gluten intolerance, and there is very little offered that is not loaded with it. You can order gluten-free fried chicken 24 hours ahead, but in general I like to eat healthy proteins and vegetables not friend in breading. I don't enjoy a lot of grains. Everything is soaked in soy and bread and rice. The kalua pork was dry, and mostly rice. I asked to leave off the macaroni salad, but the server said it would be separate, so someone else could eat it-- but it was not separate at all. My spouse had the hamburger, which was literally smothered in velveeta. The restaurant had us out the door in under 45 minutes, and it felt very rushed. Even the wine pours were small. For an award-winning restaurant, Ma'ono really disappoints.

    Had been a couple years since our last brunch at Ma’ono Fried Chicken and Whiskey. Unfortunately it’s changed. Our Fried Chicken was visibly undercooked inside, basically burnt outside and really just flavorless. The sautéed Bok Choy was a pleasant surprise, but the real surprise came with the bill. Instead of being charged $32 per whole chicken as listed in our Open Table reservation confirmation email, we were charged $44. They did end up honoring the price listed in the email, but it sure did seem like the old bait and switch by their initial reaction... A whole chicken is 10 pieces for $32, a half chicken is 5 pieces for $17.

    Lively atmosphere with an interesting menu. Service was very good. It was pretty noisy but noticed was slightly more quiet on West side of the room. Overall, four of us had a nice experience on a busy restaurant week night.

    We love this restaurant however we went with another couple and we all ordered chicken sandwiches of different hotness levels. I ordered a mild and was given the hot, not a fun discovery. My partner who ordered the hot was given the mild. That was a tough discovery so I think they should label the plates somehow so that a mild order doesn’t get a hot. 🥵

    We went for a birthday brunch. The service was excellent and the fried chicken was definitely a highlight. They held 2 birds based on our table size, and we realized later we only needed 1.5 birds. (Half birds are pro-rated.) It was fine though - made for good leftovers. The Mac and Kim cheese was mild, the fried rice was excellent as well.

    Delightful and delicious! Not our first meal at Ma’Ono but usually we go for Brunch. Dinner did not disappoint. The Spicy Chicken Sandwich and Kalua Pig Tacos are new favorites as are the whiskey cocktails. Yum!
