Celebrated birthday dinner here with a group of 22 people. The workers did everything we asked for, to make sure we had the best experience. I also messed up the count of people, but they were super accommodating and made it work. We did the family style dinner and the food was good and we had definitely enough for everyone. Plus someone in our group was gluten free, but they were accommodating with a gluten free option while still having family style - thank you again!!

My friend and I were excited to eat here after seeing the restaurant on Tiktok. Come to learn it’s all over TikTok because they offer a 15% discount to anyone who will post about them. The food was good but I there after better places to eat in nyc. We were the only table there for quite some time until another table showed up. I am a content creator for restaurants and I took a lot of photos and videos planning to recreate a post for them (for free, they didn’t give me the Tik Tok discount). After I posted a story they demanded the pictures from me to which I said I only provide my content to those I collaborate with. They said “We Don’t Care”. This response was rude and unnecessary. As a creator, the pictures I take a my work and not everyone gets to just have them for free. A lot of times when you share pictures with restaurants they will take your work and share it as their own without credit to you as the creator. People think because social media is free that the content on it is free for them to use. I told them I would be creating a post for them that they could reshare it and getting “we don’t care” was just horribly rude. I will not be back and I will not be sharing photos.

Packed tables and way too many people in a small space, so much so that we could barely squeeze out to leave. Waiter was great and did his best to accommodate the overcrowding, very friendly guy. Bigger problem was the food! after a nice fritto misto and decent pear salad, we had two pastas which were simply awful, totally overcooked and drowning in red sauce. So surprised, as we have dined at Cacio e Pepe next door, which is always great. And a pasta place in NYC tasting like a strip mall pizza joint is pretty shocking. Hate to say, but we will not be back.

Terrible experience. The owner (or the short male manager) came out of the kitchen with pieces of breading from our fried calamari in his beard. We watched a piece fall into our sauce and from there on the male insulted us for asking for a new sauce. After a hassle, he brought out a new sauce but it was purposely a hot sauce (not what is served with the calamari and looked completely different from the first sauce they originally served). We were beyond insulted and felt uncomfortable knowing that this man was messing with our food order rather than try to help make it a good experience. After I politely told him about the food in his beard and how we didn’t want to make him uncomfortable asking for a new sauce, he berated us, screaming about how we should have told him we didn’t want hot sauce (totally misunderstanding the real dilemma). Typical rude, cocky, and immature business owner. It made sense that the place was empty. The waitress looked scared and sad watching us leave. Didn’t ruin our night but made me feel terrible as someone hosting my family. I feel bad but this man will make the business suffer. Wouldn’t be surprised if it’s closed by 2023.

This place has changed. They’ve shoved a ton of tables into the small room, don’t have the staff to take care of them all, and then added more tables outside. The staff used to be friendly and charming, and now they want you in and out. We were sat, waited 10 minutes, someone came over and said “ready.” We went to order drinks and were told “no you have to order it all.” We complied, but then the food came out 5 minutes afterward. We were in and out in 25-30 minutes. Same as the two tables to the left and right of us who got the same treatment. I used to love this charming little place, but I won’t be returning.

Super lively restaurant. Had tons of potential to be great but fell flat when it came to quality of food. The bread my table was served was burnt on the bottom. We ordered the fritto misto appetizer. Calamari had zero to no seasoning. Shrimp tasted and smelled rancid. Cacio e Pepe was pretty decent but the penne alla vodka left a lot to be desired.

Extremely loud, not ambient whatsoever. Food was all mediocre. Oily partially Americanized Italian food run by Italians that don’t know how to fully honor what the food needs to be like. If you’re person that likes restaurants with heavy cream based pasta dishes and chicken park, this place will seem like a fabulous fancy restaurant. Service was also sub-tier and rough. Would 100% rate well if it went well.

cacio e vino has the best food and people in all of manhattan!!! fabrizio and fabio are two of the best people EVER and we cannot recommend this place enough. we are literally considering moving to the east village to be closer to this restaurant. the seafood to pasta ratio in the seafood pasta is PERFECT and the aperol spritzes are amazing. counting down the days until i come back here. ciao e salute, we love you <3
