Lovely food, clean and situated on the harbour. We had a lovely table overlooking the harbour front. The food was piping hot and a generous but not overwhelming portion size. Dogs are allowed bur were very well behaved. Would highly recommend!

We visited Golden Fleece two years ago when we were on holiday in Wells so decided to go back. It is located right on harbour and has a good atmosphere. There is a Bar and Restaurant area. We were shown our table and our order was taken quickly. We had a starter and Mains. We were rather left after that by server. The staff seemed to be chatting amongst themselves and we had to approach Bar for Bill. Good job we were full and did not want a sweet. The pies were great obviously homemade. Good place to eat and drink just would have been better with a little more service. Nice place for a drink and seating front and back.

Thought we would try a Sunday lunch under the new owners as our meal a few weeks back was much better than meals and service under previous owners. I am not sure how you can get a Sunday roast so wrong when that is all you are offering on the day. The beef was like shoe leather, the pork so fatty, stuffing so dry and fine crumbs(like bird food) roast potatoes were undercooked no crispy edges Peas were like bullets. We paid extra for cauliflower cheese which was just like a sauce with thick cheese baked on top, no florets of cauliflower to speak of.. So disappointing and at nearly £17 and £18 per head it wasn’t value for money.

We went to GF as the menu had 3 chicken dishes but only 1 was available and the available one was the least wanted. This is because of allergy. However our meals were good and service very good and beer excellent

We booked for our Mum's birthday but when we arrived was told we could only eat from the Fathers Day menu. This was fine but we all ordered the Mediteranean salad only to be told they had no salad which was very disappointing as none of us wanted a roast. We eventually just had snacks from the bar snack menu which turned out to be very tasty but not quite what we wanted to celebrate a special birthday.

Not up to the standard of previous visits. Staff seemed uncertain what they were doing. Table booked for a birthday, but only had the choice of Father’s Day menu, which was a roast - we should have been made aware when booking, nothing on the website at the time of booking.
