The tandoori chicken is great. We selected from the Table H'Ote and both ordered the same 3 courses. We did not know, nor were warned, that the dishes would be served to be shared. So....we ended up with repeats. Also, the first course and the entree course, were served with green salads. This meant 4 salads for two persons. The restaurant is busy, the food is good. The service was slow. Seating was next to large, noisy party with strollers.
Excellent and mild Indian food.
Service extraordinaire. Bonne nourriture. Très satisfait.
Gandhi never disappoints. I would eat here every night if I could.
Classic Indian fare in this fresh, bright spot along St. Paul in Montreal's Old Port. Attentive, friendly staff and extensive menu choices. Welcomed respite from the touristy commotion nearby.
The service and restaurant are nice. The food is something to be desired. We ordered the saag paneer and Chana masala. Both of them lacked flavor.
Absolutely excellent in every way! Food and service are top notch, always a perfect experience!
Excellent authentic food and great service
Chicken vindaloo was very hot...Just like I want it!
Always a treat to dine at Gandhi! The food is outstanding with a well-organized menu and excellent guidance from the staff when needed. The ambiance combines elegance with a casual feel. The very friendly and professional staff create a wonderful dining experience!
Fantastic food with a great atmosphere and location. I've never had a bad meal at Gandhi.
Awesome evening st Gandhi. Food was amazing and service was excellent. Highly recommend this restaurant
Food and service very good.
We have enjoyed Indian cuisine at many excellent restaurants but his was one of the very best. The food was delicious - subtle and refined just the right amount of spice and all exceptionally well cooked. The service was attentive and friendly with a well-oiled team approach.
Great service, and excellent food. The bread was great. Did not like the desserts, though
This restaurant has provided me with a consistently excellent dining experience. I dined there last night and everything was perfect - from the attentive service and excellent food to the ambiance of soft music and crisp white tablecloths. The menu is varied and the waitstaff has an intimate knowledge of it, so they are able to guide you to just the right choice. The spicing is delicious and the amount of heat for each dish described on the menu. Highly recommend!!
We very much enjoyed our meal. The food was wonderful and the ambiance was great
We invited friends who love Indian food and everyone was very happy with their meal. Service was very good. The staff is really friendly.
We definitely will visit again.
Vraiment une belle expérience avec excellent service et plats délicieux !
My favorite indian in the city by far!!
Second time here. First time was 25 years ago. Still amazing food and will come again when I am in Montreal.
Made for a wonderful family New Years Eve experience!!
Have been eating at Gandhi about 6-7 times a year for the past 6 years. Unfortunately, food flavours seem to be getting increasingly more bland, as if the restaurant is trying to appeal to the broadest possible clientele. On this last visit, onion bhajee were very pasty and tasteless, and the sauce for the butter chicken was quite watery and had lost its very creamy consistency and the distinctive sweetness of the curry was gone. The shrimp phatia were very good, but again, not as spicy as usual. All in all, a disappointing experience.
Great portions , delicious naan bread,
Not worth it.
My husband and I absolutely loved the relaxed feel of this place – like a comfortable dining room in a friend's home. We will definitely be returning to try more dishes. The table d'hote was very reasonable, the mulligatawny soup was amazing and the samosas the best we've ever eaten. The lamb was very tender as well as the tandoori chicken perfectly seasoned! We even had to order seconds of the naan as everyone at the table was fighting over it! The service was well-timed, very friendly, and exceptional. The Cobra beer was perfectly chilled and the chai tea paired with the rice pudding was a delicious way to finish a truly great meal. It's been a very long time since we've dined at a restaurant that scored 100% on food, ambiance, service, price and value. Well done and we will definitely be returning.
Excellente comme d’habitude! Nourriture excellente et le service extra!
Dinner with old friends. Excellent food, service and ambiance.
Despite having a reservation we weren’t even able to sit at the table. After more than 10 minutes waiting at the door we decided to leave, we had observed at least 7 different people from the staff around completely ignoring our presence while we waited to speak to anyone. Totally bad service attitude.
Ghandi has been around since 2001 but in the last year the manager bought it over.
We made reservations via ooentable for Saturday and they kindly gave us a window as per requested.
It was very busy on Saturday night and service was super slow.
We started with vegetarian samosas which were nice and soft and decent tasting.
For our main meal we had the butter chicken which we found a tad too sweet, the eggplant was very good and a lamb curry which we asked for spicy but it was nothing but. They did provide free rice and the garlic naan was good. They didn't seem to have wine by the glass choices so I got a Beaujolais half bottle for $20 and that was fine.
The place does have an haute class to it but service is super slow and you can get the same and even better meal elsewhere for half the price in other parts of town.
Delicious, subtly flavored Indian cuisine. Was a perfect dinner spot for us on a cool September evening. The service was very friendly and prompt too.
Excellent food and service. This restaurant never disappoints.
This was a cute restaurant with good reviews, so we decided to try it on our visit to Montreal. Unfortunately, we had very poor service, and our entrees were not good. The naan bread was divine, but other than that, the food was subpar. Our tikka masala was bizarrely sweet -- extremely sweet -- and the other dishes were just so-so. We had very poor service, although there seemed to be many waiters and not that many customers. Overall, not a good experience at all.
The very best Indian food in Montreal. We will return
Attentive and helpful staff. Extensive menu which includes traditional favorites along with some less common dishes all presented very attractively.
Bruyant, attente interminable qui nous a permis de faire connaissance avec un cafard.
Alors nous avons fuis. ..,.
Amazing service! Delicious food! Great experience! A must go for Indian
Good food and excellent service
Good food and service. Very good menu selection. Reasonable prices.
Food was delicious but expansive so was the half botte of wine
