Ambrosia Restaurant & Bar
The menu at Ambrosia Restaurant & Bar changes with the seasons and the seafood offerings depend on what local fishermen were able to catch. However, wood-fired pizzas, handmade pastas and homemade desserts are always on the menu. The staff at Ambrosia Restaurant & Bar also includes a sommelier, so you'll have no problem getting a wine recommendation from the expansive list available. Local beers are also on tap and there are hand-crafted cocktails offered too.
Mon–Fri 4:30 pm–9:00 pm

It was terribly noisy and the food was mediocre. The Caesar Salad was very good.
Very nice atmosphere and live music for a special dinner. We all enjoyed our meals (filet mignon and halibut). It was not inexpensive but great for a celebration
Great experience overall. This was my first time in Eugene and my first restaurant in Eugene and the food, atmosphere, and service was fantastic.
Best of the best for Eugene
We recently tried this place for the first time, and I'm so glad we did!
The ambiance is great, with red brick, exposed timbers, and inviting warm lighting. When we were there on a Saturday night, they had live slow jazz music. It feels like a little haven from this busy world, leftover from another time.
The food was delicious, and they had a creative yet uncomplicated menu, along with a vast wine list and good signature cocktails.
The service was incredible, with prompt, friendly servers. I don't think my water ever made it under half full.
We'll be back.
This was our first visit as we saw the menu on their website and everything turned out great as we thought it would. We started with and split the beet salad which was large and tasty. We then enjoyed a bottle of Merlot and my wife ordered the Spaghetti Bolognese and I ordered the Bucatini Athena and they were both delicious. We had the chocolate truffle tort - yum!! We had heard some nice sax music from the lounge and went in to enjoy music and port. Great evening.
What a wonderful birthday dinner I had with my husband at Ambrosia! We enjoyed their live 3 piece music ensemble. We each had the special for dinner and agreed that the seafood pasta with Dijon cream sauce was exceptional. The flourless chocolate cake was as good as I had heard so save room! The service was prompt and courteous but not pushy. We will definitely return to try more items on the menu and for a romantic date night.
This is now one of my favorite restaurant! I've needed to find a really nice Italian place and ive finally found it. Defiantly a go to now when I need a nice restaurant that has a great atmosphere and a very comforting style for a reslly good price. I went there for my first time on a date before a dance, and we both loved it! We were surprised because live music started playing and we loved it. The service was spectacular, thank you to my server, I wish I gave a better tip. I love this place and highly recommend it.
I went on 10/20/18 around 6pm. Parking is a bit of a challenge. You'll usually have to pay for a spot. Weekends after 6 on the street are free though. The place is all brick with a warm atmosphere and mild lighting. It is Italian food and fine dining. I have been here several time and have never eaten the same thing twice or been disappointed. This time I had the special. I used to work restaurants and know to usually avoid the specials. But this sounded quite good. Seafood Alfredo. It has lobster, dungeoness crab, sea scallops, Halibut, and shrimp over Ziti pasta with garlic/pepper Alfredo sauce. It was to die for. I also had the Antipata plate of cheese & meat appetizers, and 2 glasses of red wine. The service was superb too. I got out the door (with tip) for $80. It's a little spendy. But once in a while it's sooooo worth it. It's a great place for a romantic dinner. Around 7pm the jazz band began to warm-up. There is a bar for bar seating if you want. The ground floor is wheelchair accessible. Leave the kids with a sitter if you're going here. They wont appreciate it. Thanks guys!
I chose this place to celebrate my birthday because I hadn't been there in a while. WHY DID I WAIT SO LONG??? The food was amazing and reasonable. The service was superb as well. I definitely will not wait so long to come back.
Excellent food. Service a little slow.
I had chicken Parmesan with mixed green salad. Both were excellent. The wife had special native king salamon that she enjoyed
As always our meals are flavorful and excellently paired plates. Don’t forget to ask about the daily specials and or seasonal favorites.
Have had the amazing pleasure of dining at Ambrosia from my daughter’s first week in Eugene. Held her Graduation dinner in the wine cellar and as always the food, service, wine, drinks and atmosphere are superb.
This has been my favorite restaurant in Lane County for some time. Last night they stepped it up a notch with a new fantastic create menu and live jazz!!
We had a great time. Service was friendly and expert, food was great. The bruschetta was amazing!
I’m new to Eugene and love finding all these quaint eating places - and the food was so delicious I will b going back
Food was wonderful but the service was not. The waiter Made us feel that he was annoyed to wait on us.
Love the restaurant but this is the second visit where our waiter/waitress did a poor job on the "special' (really permanent, as near we can tell) choices. The first failed to mention the options and the second failed to mention important details, resulting in disappointment when the dish came to the table.. Either print them out or train your staff better. A quality restaurant like Ambrosia should not get demerits over such an easily managed issue.
It was all good, see my ratings above, seated promptly, hostess very friendly.
eggs not really cooked the way we wanted but it still tasted very good and we'll almost certainly go back at some point/
Sat on the front side walk. Very nice and service was great. The special where very good. Filet and seafood pasta.
Waiter was very good. Drinks delicious. My filet and mashed potatoes excellent. My husband thought that there were too much extra ‘stuff’ in the lasagna, he was hoping for one with meat and cheese like he had here before.
Love the decor, have been here many times over the years, always comfortable and friendly.
We were there for a birthday celebration and Ambrosia was didn't disappoint. Our waitress was excellent and our dinners and dessert (especially the chocolate mousse) were delicious. We would highly recommend.
We hit Ambrosia for breakfast after a night in Eugene, where we had traveled to see a concert the night before. As another reviewer said, it's got kind of a grandma's attic vibe (antique-ish wood furniture and decor, with heavy drapery) and misses the funky–quirky mark. That said, the brunch menu was great and we enjoyed the meal and service. I'd recommend it for the location and ease more than the place itself. Would not recommend it for a fancy dinner, as the surroundings are casual.
We sat outside and enjoyed a jazz trio that was superb. Our waiter was outstanding - so fun and friendly. And the food was fantastic - the filet mignon special and a lobster pasta. Delicious. It was a perfect birthday dinner.
Got seated, 15 minutes passed before we were asked what we wished to order. Ambiance was nice, our section got increasingly noisy as night wore on. Decent beer selection, special was a $37 filet mignon that seemed small and a bit grainy for the price. My wife really enjoyed her spaghetti bolognaise (sp?) and the bread was great. Dessert was also fine. Overall, nice but not a peak experience. Would come again just to give this place another try and order something different for variety’s sake.
The food is great but the environment is dark and dirty with old rugs that look like they have never been cleaned. The tables and chairs look like they were purchased from some yard sale in a rundown neighborhood, and there a few curtains hanging as a room divider, that look like an old clothing store dressing room. This place has great potential because the old style building, with its brick walls and huge solid wood beams, is really quite charming.
The food tastes great, but if you like to dine in an environment that looks and feels clean, you might not like it here.
Excellent food! It was our first time there. We went for our 39th wedding anniversary. We are new to Eugene and trying new restaurants. I highly recommend this one!
Pasta was good as was the filet mignon. Salad was disappointing. They were out of shrimp and servicer suggested the smoke salmon which I regret ordering. It was overly salty and not a healthy combination to add on top of a dinner salad.
My wife and I decided to try this place for our 10th Anniversary. We were not disappointed. The food was great, the ambiance was what we were looking for (classic decor, quiet and personal setting, great food and great wine). The only issue was that it took quite a while to get our food despite the restaurant not being busy while were there. This was a minor issue, as we were there to enjoy ourselves and celebrate and not on any strict time table or anything.
The service was very attentive, polite, and had insight to share about the dishes when asked. Our server informed us about the special that day, but was not pushing any dishes at us, which I appreciated.
if you are going out for a special dinner to celebrate, I recommend Ambrosia. It has a classic, fine dining appeal paired
A little disappointed in food quality. Would give it another try.
The Reservation was for my Wife's 75th Birthday. The Ambrosia Restaurant came Highly Recommended, with emphases on Excellent/Superb Quality Italian Food. My Wife and I have been Married for 52 years, she is half Italian and the Last Italian Meal we enjoyed was in Latina, Italy were she is from. All the reviews I read about the Ambrosia were 5-Star, however sadly the ratings did not meet my expectations. The Quality of the Food was excellent, however the preparation was generally substandard. We had a starter of Minestrone Soap which was 'Fantastic', Stuffed Crab Mushrooms which was 'Fair', My Rack of Lamb which was 'Poor' (I love Rack-of-Lamb - this was over cooked and tasteless - the sauce was a waste of effort) My Wife had Pizza which was 'Fair' I guess one must travel to Italy to obtain an Excellent Quality with Simple Flavors. The saying goes, 'GOOD QUALITY FOOD NEEDS NO ADORNMENT'
When I made the Reservation, I was asked if this was for a Special Occasion, and I answered 'Yes'. I also told the Waiter, that it was my Wife's 75th Birthday, that she was and Excellent Quality Italian Cook, taught by both her Father and Uncle, both of whom were raised in Italy, and taught her to cook.
Your waiter, sadly didn't have a clue about being a Waiter. I believe he was a Collage Student, (No Fault) however was untrained in the world of Waiting Tables. I am a retired General Manager of a Hotel in London, and have first hand knowledge in Table-side cooking in the Hotel Restaurant. I know what 'Good Quality Food and Preparation is'.
I believe this is one of the first times I have ever participated in an online survey, I do not go around telling everyone how bad they may or may-not be doing, with a KNOW-IT-ALL-ATTITUDE, which I despise.
I am sorry for this somewhat less than satisfactory review, however if taken in the spirit of "Critic' it will help your Restaurant's Quality, both in Staff and Food Perpetration.
Excellent as always, food great. Did have to ask 5 times to get our candle lit !
The food was amazing topped off by an attentive and knowledgeable wait staff. The live music was a boon! We’ll be back
We had the specials which were Halibut and Filet Mignon both tasted good but we agreed both could have been better. We also let our server know we needed to leave by a certain time (catch a show) and he said okay but we weren't served the main course until just about when we had to leave. Not a big deal everything worked out. They have live jazz on Saturday nights which is great. The fire roasted olives and artichoke heart appetizers were very tasty.
The food was really good. Tried to stay semi vanilla since we didn’t know anything about it. It will get another shot from us.
We enjoyed our experience at Ambrosia. David is an exceptionally fine waiter.
very good waiter, very good food, we had the specials that night and would go back.
Our server was Izzy! He was so great and really took the time to make our brunch special! Was friendly and energetic. The food was so amazing especially the breakfast pizza !
