Da Mimmo Finest Italian Cuisine
Excellent food and service. I would have given it 5 stars, except for a slight problem with flies...which surprised us given that it is early November. We will be back, and I would not anticipate finding that problem again.
The restaurant section was very crowded and loud but the service and food was outstanding.
Bar side was fun and the piano was playing
Cool place to go to
I had an excellent meal with a few business friends on Friday night. Great overall experience!
Loved everything about Da Mimmo. We received personal attention, the food was fabulous, and it exudes old world charm.
Wonderful food and attentive service for lunch with out of town guests.
The food choices were unique and authentic. The waiter was really attentive we are never disappointed. The lobster Tettrazzini one of their house specialties was excellent.
Food was outstanding and the service was warm and professional. Veal Chop portion was huge and tasty. Sea bass was beautifully prepared. We would recommend this to anyone looking for a dining experience with excellent food and a noise level that allows good conversation. Having their own parking lot is an added bonus.
Experience was amazing. We are from Pittsburgh and visited for a soccer tournament. We have been raving about the food at your restaurant for days!!!!! True authentic tastes and amazing quality.
Lasagna best ever. Service outstanding. Mary Anne provides an incredible dining experience
The sign out front says voted #1 chef! Wow we got lucky to find this place!
We got there a little earlier than our reservation and were great warmly by a man asking our name. we went in the bar for a drink only to find reserved signs at a nearly empty bar.
We were religated to sit a side table and ordered Old Fashions. They were horrible and we did not finish them.
While we were sitting there "drinking" our OF a lady came to us and asked us our names. We told her we had already checked it the man and she cut us off to curtly tell is "he is just a server, what is your names."
The food was so-so and the service by "the server" was great
Had a lovely time celebrating daughter-in-law's birthday! My husband always ordered the veal chop, which he thoroughly enjoyed!! Our two young grandchildren split the lasagna, which they said was "as delicious as Grammie's!!!" High praise indeed!!!!
I have been to Da Mimmo twice , and both times the experience was excellent. The intimate atmosphere of the restaurant and authentic Italian food and art made me feel like I was in Italy. The service from the chef the bartender, the maitre d, and the bus boy was top notch!
Excellent service. Very friendly staff. Good menu. Awesome food. Would definitely recommend!!
had a stellar sunday lunch. great value for exceptional food and attentive service.
Food was mediocre at best , way to overpriced for what it was , Anastasia our waitress-was the only serving 3 tables and I couldn’t get a refill of ice tea even asking 3 times. Couldn’t wait to leave $250 later .
Noisy and gaudy. A bottle of sparkling water was $10, appetizer, a lump of crab meat $22, a scoop of ordinary vanilla ice cream was $10, food was ordinary and when I called the manager about prices, she was rude. Would noit go there again and would advise friends to stay away. These are other Italian restyin town which are better value and more pleasant to dine in.
The best of the best. The food is always excellent and the service fantastic. We have never had a bad meal or experience. Our group was composed of 4 new friends to the restaurant and 2 that had been here before. They said it is their new go to restaurant in Little Italy.
Thought the food and service outstanding! Very affordable for the quality of the food too boot, would go back in a heartbeat next time we are in Baltimore!
Food was very good, but expensive. When telling us of the specials, there was no mention of the price. Beware!!
Had a great lunch! Will definitely go back
Overall food was good, not great. Enjoyed the calamari as a starter. Pasta Carbonara was tasty. Prices were reasonable but added up quickly when you had all courses. Wines by the glass were pricey for the average quality.
We went for restaurant week and a birthday celebration, the service was wonderful and the food was outstanding!
Mildly overpriced and entrees were very salty.
Outstanding food; best orange roughy I’ve ever eaten, my dining companions loved their clams and lasagna, nice wine list, great service. The only possible negative is that the decor is dated, but charming and kitschy in its own way. We are all planning on going back!
Disappointed since the last time I came. The veal chop was still good, but the sides were meh. And my clams casino were kinda sad.
But the service in the dining room was good.
The dining room didn't have the best of ambiance--but the bathrooms are a hoot.
Service at the front of house was bad. I don't know if she's the owner or what, but she was really huffy and rude. She was on her phone watching videos (with sound) while the piano player was singing. Not cool. Docking stars off just for that.
Overall, the lounge is cool. The piano player is there on Weds and Sat. They have a happy hour and a specific bar menu (I think you can even reserve seats at the bar). If I came back, I'd just eat at the bar and try to avoid the lady at the door.
We decided to try Da Mimmo during Baltimore Restaurant Week. We were surprised for a Saturday night that there were so few people at the restaurant. Upon arriving, the hostess agreed to seat us on the first level because someone in our party had a difficult time climbing stairs. There was only one table that had customers and we were seated directed next to them. The tables were so close that we were literally hitting elbows with the people next to us...the rest of the restaurant was empty. The wait staff was rude...curt and very unfriendly. Our party was shocked at the unprofessional, bordering on abusive, manner in which the staff treated us. It actually become the topic of our conversation because all four of us were stunned by the cold, unwelcoming and unpleasant manner of the restaurant employees. The food was good...above average....but certainly not worth the price...or the attitude. As a side note...the iced tea tasted more like dishwasher water than tea. I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Da Mimmo's is my favorite spot in Little Italy. The food is absolutely AMAZING!! The waiters are very friendly and want to make sure you have the best dining experience.
Love Da Mimmo!!! Been coming for 25 years and never disappoints. Veal chop is out of this world! We had a wonderful evening and got to enjoy the company of the other tables around us.
Meal was ok. Mozzarella was stale but rest of meal was ok. Waiter spoke very quickly and seemed to be more focused on what he needed to do than attending to us. Was expecting more.
Lobster Tetrazzini and Veal Chop we're excellent. Lasagna and Veal Piccada we're very good. Service was very good. Warm old school ambiance.
The service and the food were outstanding! I had the mussels and the marinara sauce was so flavorful. I also had the chicken masala and would return just for that dish! The service was very attentive and kind. When I was leaving the restaurant I noticed that they have free parking for this restaurant. Definitely will return the next time I’m in Baltimore!
Fabulous! We go there every time we are at the Hilton for a conference. Food is delicious. Pricey but worth it.
The food was delicious, we were there about 15 years ago and it is just as wonderful. The only disappointing aspect was the prices are very high. I don’t mind paying for good food but, in my opinion, they were about 20% overpriced. Will still visit again though.
Da Mimmo's is a traditional Italian restaurant. They have an experienced and professional wait staff. The appetizers, including clams casino and open face ravioli, were delicious. They veal chop is the most tender and delicious I have eaten. I enjoy coming here with family and friends, as it feels like home.
We had a delicious meal, though the veal chop was not listed on the veal menu, and when it arrived, there were two large chops. (I had remembered just one, before.) Needless to say, it was delicious and provided a couple of meals at home! The veal piccata and veal marsala and lasagna, all superb!
We got there at 6pm, only couple seated upstairs so it is hard to comment on service, yes, the service was: quick, attentive, and fast; however, we were the only ones there. But, the staff was VERY knowledgeable about menu and specials (there were a lot). The food was "okay" for the money, little pricy at $117.00 for two, BUT the food was EXCELLENT, so I have no negative comment I would make. The food: open face seafood ravioli was SOOOOO tasty, the Chicken Parm was good (should have been served with side of pasta for meal price), the Chicken Marsala was also very good (but again no pasta), typically ANY where else pasta is included. The garlic bread was very good, but at $1.50 "per" slice. that seemed just a bit high. It was a special occasion so I did not mind....Overall, nice atmosphere and good food; ENJOY!!
Hands down, our favorite Italian restaurant in Baltimore. Upstairs is especially nice for a special occasion.
5/18/18 rainy Friday night before Preakness. Had a drink in the bar before moving to the dining room for dinner
Bar was about half full around 5:30 very quiet -walls filled with celebrity picture of past guest
Service was great in both bar and dining room. Food was top notch- split the lobster ravioli for an appetizer- had the sea bass special for entree and my husband had the veal chop of which he took one home with him. Cannoli was split for desert. Shared a bottle of wine. Although a little pricey well worth it for excellent food wine and service. Also free parking in their lot
Thanks for a great experience
Excellent food and service. Watch out for the complimentary Lemoncello, that is accidentally put on your bill.
My wife and I love DaMimmo's and it is the only restaurant we frequent in Little Italy. From the expertise of the bar staff to the exceptional service and knowledge of the wait staff to the convenience of the parking lot, we always enjoy our dinners there. Top notch from start to finish.
