Whiskey Cake - Katy
Good. Drinks were comp’d since they took a long time. Dessert coins provided too. Good communication between manager and wait staff.
Love love Whiskey Cake! Goat cheese fondue is a must! Fried green tomatoes, YUM!! Whiskey braised lamb stew keeps my husband going back in the cool temperatures!! Fun, energetic atmosphere!! Not to mention the fabulous whiskey selection!!
Food was excellent. Service was a little slow, but was not in a hurry. Portions are a little small for price paid.
Great healthy options ; salmon and 12 grain salad amazing
We were meeting friends for a night out. The food was terrific, something for everyone’s taste and our server was delightful. My husband doesn’t do great in noisy environments so we asked for a booth and he did fine. We love going to Whiskey Cake. We did have a reservation since it was for a popular time and were seated promptly.
The overall ambiance is awsome! The menu however seems to be limited and lacks diversity.
Great service and food! One of the top places to go in Katy.
Great selection and friendly staff.
Save room for the actual whiskey cake dessert. Delicious!
One of my favorite places to dine in Katy. I love the atmosphere and the food is delicious. You have to try if you have never been.
The hardest choice is how to limit your food and drink choices. Ask about their pairings.... AMAZING and beyond worth it!
An awesome eatery! The whiskey cake is scrumptious, and the fried green tomatoes are delicious! I truly enjoyed my visit!
Great recommendations...excellent cocktails
Enjoyed the food although the alcoholic beverages are a bit over priced.
Very enjoyable evening as is the the norm when we dine here.
We had reservations and were seated promptly. The wait staff werecattentive but not overly so. Excellent meal!
Great service and wonderful meals all around. Ask about the secret cocktail menu!
This was our first time at The Whiskey Cake. We shared a bourbon flight and fried green tomatoes. My husband had the Texas redfish and I had the roasted chicken. Both of us really enjoyed our entrees. We shared a piece of the whiskey cake, abd OMG, was it scrumptious! Our waiter, David, was great!
Brunch was amazing!! All the food was great, the ambiance was nice and service was awesome.
Jesse made our night. She read us well, allowing us to take our time. She had fitting suggestions, based upon a couple of questions she asked. She had extensive knowledge, was professional and attentive without being too present.
Good selection of cocktails. I wasn’t impress with the food. For sure need to try the whiskey cake. Excellent service !
Had to wait 20 min for table although we had made reservations on open table. Waitress was slow and never checked on us. Only checked on us when we made eye contact when she came back to area where we were seating at. We had to ask bus person for syrup. Seems either she may had a rough night the day before and/or when she went to put orders in she waited back in kitchen till it was ready.
Everything was great! Craft drinks, Fried green tomatoes, brisket, and of course the Whiskey cake.
Food was awesome, all local and prepared in the store. Fantastic bourbon/whiskey selection!
Good was terrible. The worst meal that I can remember. Guest specifically indicated he could not eat spicy food and waiter recommended a salad that was very spicy. I ordered the chicken/kale salad. It was obviously left over from the past weekend. Chicken was bad. Kale was over saturated. Would not recommend for any reason or purpose. Avoid the place.
The food and service was amazing. Perfect for brunch
We took out of town guests and we have a great experience from checking in to getting our drinks, to a nice table, to a great waiter who recommended great food and of course the amazing dessert.
WE will be back.
Very attentive waiter and excellent food
Quite expensive, didn’t care for the bathrooms being set up they way they were, beyond that the food was awesome. The whiskey cake was delicious!
Drinks great location great. Food is a bit salty for my taste
Loved the atmosphere and decor.
We ordered various items as it was our first visit and we wanted to try many items.
Eggs and ham Benedict was good without the hollandaise sauce. Sauce was not good or worth the calories.
Fried green tomatoes sadly had no flavor, but the accompanying sauce was nicely flavored.
Spaghetti squash was cold as if it sat awhile before serving.
Green beans were blanched, still crunchy with a good flavor.
Brussel sprouts were also crunchy with s good flavor. One in our group preferred the veggies softer.
French press coffee was delicious.
Deviled eggs were just ok.
Hangover burger was very good, the egg on top was huge! This is definitely a good item to share.
One of my new local favorite places! Excellent food, creatively served. Great tap wall and bar, beautiful location, friendly staff. I have yet to have even an average meal here. It's always great! Still looking for my favorite menu item. Maybe I just have to try them all...
I had the chicken and waffles and my wife had the grilled salmon salad. Both were outstanding Gabby was our server and she was excellent. Recommend it highly.
Poor service. Server got order wrong, admitted it and didn’t offer an apology
Music was VERY loud and overly energetic. Made us want to get in and out as quick as possible.
deviled eggs-imaginative, outstanding
goat cheese fondue-a great appetizer-bread was superb
fried green tomatoes-nice presentation, nicely breaded, but for my taste, tomatoes needed
more cooking and some kind of seasoning
duck was excellent-cooked right
salmon was good, but not outstanding compared to a ginger salmon by others
whiskey cake was great, as good a house specialty desert as i have ever had
waitress was friendly, cheerful and well informed on the menu
Food was below average but the drinks were good. My husband ordered a pork dish and it was undercooked, our appetizer of fried green tomatoes was cold and my salad had wayyyy too much dressing on it. The staff was friendly but the food was just so bad.
Staff went out of their way to acknowledge my son's birthday and make him feel special.
Great food. Little expensive but still great. Only issue was that we had to ask the hostess to go find us a waitress to assist us so we didn’t miss happy hour prices since we had been sitting for longer than you would normally expect at a restaurant.
I will return. I had a very enjoyable evening but would have a mixture of appetizers and skip the main courses in future The appetizers are all outstanding but I thought that the main meals were not much better than average. The whiskey cake dessert is excellent and very close in taste to English sticky toffee pudding. Excellent service and fair prices.
Love this place. This is my 3rd visit....This time around, my plate of eggs was ice cold, but I didn’t want to cause a hassle because my friend and I had not seen one another is a long time and I wanted to focus on her.
