Always a great dinner and experience. My go to local date place.
We had the escargot as usual. It is so delicious. The best escargot I've ever had. We got there in time for happy hour, the $3 house chardonnay. Is delicious. Christy the bartender is always awesome..
Weve been several times an always have the escargot, which is the best I've ever had. An we had the salmon with mashed.sweet potatoes. Which were amazing. Happy hour prices are awesome. An.so is the house chardonnay. This place is awesome. I highly recommend it.
We had escargot, which I always get here, and I love it. Theres is the best. We made it in time for happy hour, which we had the house chardonnay, which was $3.50 a glass. We also had a salad and chicken, picatta , I think. It was alll so delicious....... for dessert key lime pie. Was all so amazingly delicious. The owners were there, they are so nice an welcoming. The ambiance is perfect. I love this restaurant an highly recommend it.
The service was medium - not exceptional as we sat with empty wine glasses for quite a while before being asked if we wanted another. The food was good, but again not exceptional. We consider ourselves "foodies" always looking for great places to meet our friends at and we were checking this place out as an option for our next group get-together. We will not, however, suggest this to our group. Considering the price, I don't feel that the service and food lived up to it.
Food was excellent, service was excellent however a large party convened & it got loud... fortunately
we were almost thru with dinner, so we got out just in time....
Excellent service and one of the best rack of lamb I've ever had.
Overall a great evening. Service with Angelo was great. Prime rib great also. The seafood New Orleans was a little disappointing. The scallops were tough and shrimp so-so. Next time I will do prime rib. Prices are a bargain for all you get!!
Service was not good. Only one waiter who seemed more interested in speaking to the people at the bar than waiting on the tables. There were only 4 tables with patrons. We had to finally ask the girl bussing the tables to let the waiter know we were ready to order. Took forever for him to come back to refill drinks, etc. my daughter asked for more rolls and we never got them
We love going to the Hilltop. It is a place where we love to bring friends and family. You can actually have a conversation around dinner and hear one another. The atmosphere, service and food and always wonderful!
It was a wonderful experience . Staff was super friendly and the food was awesome and the atmosphere is beautiful I highly recommend this place. It is a beautiful old looking home with a bar area, And beautiful area for outside wedding ceremony overlooking a Koi pond, a glass sun room dining area also over looking the pond . There are many other large rooms to host a party, wedding reception or a large gathering. This was a gem hiding in Orange Park. They say has been here 30 years. And who knew there was a hill in Jacksonville. LOL
We had not been to the Hilltop in a while. We were very pleased with everything from drinks to dessert. The quality of the food was great. We were treated like family, thank you Angelo, and will return soon.
Thank you so much for the 5 Star Review and all your wonderful words. We greatly appreciate this and we are so happy you enjoyed yourself. We look forward to your next visit! Sincerely, Stacey Martorano Manager/Event Coordinator 904-272-5959
We enjoyed our meal very much. It had been a couple of years since we had been and it was great to see nothing has changed. The food and the service was great!
We went for Mother's Day brunch, overall was plenty of food and good layout. Only minor complaints, the desserts weren't labeled so it was difficult to determine what each one was; also, prime rib ran out shortly before the last seating, and there was a 20 minute wait before more was available. Better planning would have made for a more enjoyable experience, but its definitely something we'll try again in the future.
After 30 plus years of enjoying the Hilltop, it remains a jewel in the crown of Orange Park.
Food was fantasic and plentiful. The grounds are gorgeous. Angelo, our server, was amazing!!
Parking was terrible. Your website did not say it was a buffet. Felt the buffet lacked
uniqueness for the cost. Some in our party thought it all excellent.
Wonderful experience. The food and service were great. Love this place.
Sorry, just not a fan. Shrimp was terrible, hard. The omelet station was the b st but that’s a lot of money for an omelet. Need some people checking for refills on dishes.
The building was probably nice in its day but it is run down and not well kept. The food was marginal at best with a semi'tough NY strip. The service was terrible. The food was brought out and set on a stand feet away while we looked at it waiting for our server to serve it to us. My wife had to take my glass and find a waiter to ask for a refill.
The reviews on Yelp gave this place 4.3 out of 5. We just didn’t see why? My wife ordered Filet Oscar style and the crab meat was burnt and nasty, and the bernaise sauce was like custard. My steak was excellent, but I got collard greens as a side and it looked like canned spinach. This place is absolutely beautiful, but we wouldn’t go back.
Great Food, Great Service, Great Scenery!! Hubby and I will be back!
Came to celebrate my birthday with family and friends, first time there and was impressed. Loved the building, grounds, atmosphere, food and our server, Angelo, was excellent. He gave us history, descriptions of food and was generally informative, polite and not intrusive. Also appreciated the piece of cake he gave me to bring home. We will definitely be back!
Very slow service....
Food was great ... have been before and service was better
There were 2couples eating 4 different meals. Each one of us loved the food. The atmosphere was wonderful. We have found our new favorite restaurant.

This was our fourth visit. All were 5 star. The servings are large and presented nicely. The servers are polite and attentive. It is nice to go to a restaurant where you can carry on a quiet conversation.

Great food and atmosphere, and they make a good martini, my favorite restaurant in Orange Park for an upscale but casual meal
Good afternoon MichaelS, Thank you so much for the 5 Star Rating! We sincerely appreciate your feedback! So glad you are happy with your Martini...Kristi is an amazing bartender! We look forward to your next visit! Sincerely, Stacey Martorano Manager/Event Coordinator 904-272-5959
This is the second time I have dined at your establishment and I totally Love it!!!
The service and food were great. The menu had good options and there were a lot of great specials to choose from.
Quaint old place. Good comfort food. Staff very friendly but rushed and lacked training. Good value for the money
Address is incorrect on Open Table. Nice atmosphere overall. Live piano was cool. Crab dip was delicious. Combo seafood was good. Pork chop was dry. Caesar salad had bitter yellow greens. According to the waitress, it's always that way. Recommended changing that. A little too pricey for the quality.
Dined there for Valentine's Day. Pleasant ambiance. Excellent meals and good service. Very enjoyable evening.
Went for Valentine’s Day where there was a special menu. Appetizers were amazing with the pork ossa bucco and coconut shrimp. The she-crab soup was delicious and I wish I could have bought a gallon of it. Main entree was crab stuffed Chilean sea bass and then there was a dessert sampler. It was a perfect valentines dinner date with great food, great service and great ambiance .
We both ordered the prime rib. Mine was overdone, his was underdone. The mashed potatoes were terrible and the asparagus was overdone. The salad wasn't great. Our appetizers were pretty good. The best part was the dessert. The whole meal wasn't worth the price we paid. We were very disappointed. I made my reservation online and there was no mention of a set menu for Valentine's day. For $55.00 a person, every bite should have been divine and it just wasn't.
This place was beautiful and fantastic. The food was great and the service was awesome!!!!
Great menu for Valentine's day and the rest of the year. Staff is nice and the decor and art is nice.
This was the best Valentine's day dinner my wife and I have ever had. Great staff and great food right around were I live. We will be going back. What ever changed from the last three time we eat there is intensely great, do not change a thing. Excellent, superb and a delightful evening. Thank you :-D
We had not eaten at the Hilltop in several years and recently moved back to Jacksonville. We opted for the Hilltop for Valentines Dinner as we remember it as classy and it’s near home. First thing that we found unusual was pads of wrapped butter on a plate. For a classy restaurant on Valentines Day that was something you would expect at Waffle House. My wife had the Coconut Shrimp, Manhattan Clam Chowder and the Sea Bass. I had the Baby Lamb Chops the SheCrab Soup and the Sea Bass. The Sea Bass was cooked perfectly and delicious. My wife felt the Shrimp was probably not made in house but previously frozen and prepared from a bag, the Chowder tasted like Campbells from a can. My Lamb also tasted like prepared from a bag and lacked any taste. I had remembered the SheCrab Soup from years past and my Soup failed to live up to my memories. It lacked any taste of Sherry so important to the dish. Still a nice place but as a fine dining experience failed to live up to its past.
We enjoyed great service and great food. And a piano player playing tunes in the background. The whole staff creates a very friendly atmosphere. Definitely recommend this gem
