The food was amazing but too expensive. The side course was at extra charge. The service was fine but too slow.
Went to this bar on recommendation and had booked a table through OpenTable but when we got there we found out the outside cocktail area was being renovated. At no point did either Open Table or Area 31 mention this anywhere and no staff thought to mention this key element! It was only when we turned up that we realised it was just a makeshift bar by the pool area. Shambolic service and would not recommend to anyone and will not be going again!
Sad because there was no outdoor seating.
Loved the restaurant, waiter, and the food was exquisite but disappointed that I wasn't seated where I had requested. Received a call that the outdoor space wasn't available and was told I would be seated somewhere with a view. I was seated very far from anything I had requested. If you call a customer and say you are going to honor a request then do it. Other than that, I had a blast.
Really nice ambiance and chic vibe. Hosts and servers were friendly and nice. The food however simply "OK" and given the price points ($50 steak, $70 fish) we expected much better.
Restaurant has a beautiful modern design, great service and very tasty dishes. Wine selection could be expanded. Service was very attentive, our sever was pleasant and open for little chats as well as menu recommendations based on our preferences.
I was in Miami for a job interview and the waitstaff was extremely nice/encouraging and helpful!
I was very desapointed, the place is under construction and the terrace which is the most beautiful was closed and the view totally obstructed, the windows were covered with plastic, the service wasn’t great, server took forerever to serve us. The food was really good just the atmosphere was not the beautiful night I went there for, the hotel is under renovation so I don’t recommend anyone going until the renovation is done,
Not busy at all and waited an hour for our appetizer. Needed ketchup for kids meals... asked twice and never received it. Had seabass and lamb. Meals were good but not worth anywhere near $40 a plate.
Area 31 is known for its panoramic views, that was the main reason I chose this location for my birthday brunch. Despite having made reservations more than a month in advance I was told the morning of that no seating with a panoramic view was available because they were undergoing construction. Such a disappointment but it was much too short notice to modify plans with my guests. The truly EPIC moment was my guests being served bloody under-cooked chicken. I will never return!
The restaurant notified me just 2 hrs prior to my reservation that they were under construction and no outdoor sitting was available also all the windows were covered with plastic , so even inside there were no view. The food was really bad and very expensive. The service was very good.
Food was good but very pricey. Would only go for a special occasion.
We were a party of 3. The atmosphere was pleasant; however, the day we went, there was construction going on. We didn't get a clear view of the river due to the construction curtains. Also, the patio was blocked off. The food was excellent but al-a-carte left us slightly hungry after the meal. We ordered Moscow Mules but for $18/drink, we expected a copper cup. The gratuity was included in the bill.
Excellent restaurant. From the minute we checked in, Ashley was amazingly sweet. Even offered to take a few pics of my hubby and I. We were visiting for the first time. Celebrating our wedding anniversary. We were seated shortly after. Morgan was our waiter. She was absolutely amazing and very knowledgeable of all the items on the menu. She made a few recommendations. All were great choices. Thank you for the excellent service.

The terrasse is unaccessible because of renovation on the building. If you book online you will have the bad surprise because this is not mentioned on their website and their reservation system let you book terrasse/window view tables without notification prior to the venue.
The Food is decent but not superior quality for the price demanded, waiter was very sympathic and professional.
Booked a table 2 weeks in advance and requested to be on the rooftop patio for the view, short vacation visit. Upon arriving to the restaurant we were informed that the rooftop patio was closed for remodeling, after the reservation was confirmed. Other guests arriving at the restaurant were also shocked the rooftop was closed and left, we should have left as well. Website said nothing about it being closed, just that it had the best views in Miami. Highly disappointed since it is expensive to eat at, also they were out of the beer and wine that we requested. Terrible experience.
I attended Miami Spice with a friend. I had a good experience at Area 31. The waitress was cheery & warm. The food was good. The view was beautiful.
Great food ... awesome decor ..... bar looks good... perfect ambience
AMAZING. everything our group ordered was delicious from the crab cake to the pan roasted chicken to the swordfish and the steak! Everything was so flavorful! Will definitely come back when we visit Miami!
The only saving grace for this restaurant is the view. The food is very mediocre and uninspiring.
To spend my anniversary there, it was completely a disappointment. The food could have been better , very salty and the waiter was not good as expected. I definitely would not go back.
One of my top 5 restaurants in Miami, this was my 3rd time here and the food is always good. I will recomend the fisherman stew and black cod. Perfect place for date dinner.
Wasn’t able to sit outside due to their renovations. The poolside and views were beautiful, however the portions of the food were incredibly small. Was not impressed with the overall dining experience. Not worth the money.
The rooftop was closed and anybody told us Before. The food is expensive and not at the nivel
Lastima que la terraza estaba en reparaciones
food is terribly bad and it s a lot expensive ...
Order mahi mahi fish, lacked basic things like salt. . . Pretty much sums it up, all hype little substance.
Had reservations for outside patio seating. Did not know that it was closed completely. We were placed in the middle of the restaurant. They also frosted all the windows in the restaurant (super smart). Food and service was good but I couldn't enjoy the view. Would not recommend
Came here for - as we had read in other reviews - very good food along with a spectacular view. When we arrived we learnt that the Terrasse where we made a table reservation for - was closed. Then waited 40 minutes for a window table to at least get some city views. Unfortunately the light in that area was brighter than in an ER so you could not see anything outside at all. Also, it was so called in there that my wife put on her jacket - other ladies in that area were also creating but no one from the service realized. Food was ok but over-prized for that quality of products and cooking.
Area 31 is a fabulous restaurant serving delicious food in a lovely atmosphere. The people who served us were very welcoming and very attentive.
A little expensive because it is in Brickell ($15 a pudding 🙄), make sure you are drinking what you ask for, instead of that was good.
This place is phenomenal!!!! I’m not someone who leaves reviews for restaurant but this place deserves it. Excellent service, excellent food, incredible view, Great Staff. The staff accomedated me and my fiancé so well. They helped me make my proposal very special. Didn’t charge me extra!! Any time I’m in Miami I will be dining at Area 31.
We picked Area 31 because they raved about their views and rooftop dining. When we got there the terrace was closed and the windows when sitting inside were frosted so there was absolutely zero view of anything. That part was a complete letdown since we were excited to be going out for our anniversary. When making reservations, the Open Table app asked if it was a special occasion, so I added that it our Anniversary expecting something special when we arrived at the restaurant, but there was no mention of it the whole time we were there. The food was great which helped the night not be a complete bust! It would have been nice if there was a heads up about the closed terrace on their website. Also, overpriced in my opinion.
Date night with my husband. We waited nearly an hour at the table before we received our appetizers. Once recieced it our server M just placed it on our table and left. She never told us what kind of oysters th-at we were eating, what were the different sauces, and when asked for lemons for the oysters she brought them in a napkin. Also for approx. 100$ Appetizer you would think they could give a whole lobster 1 lb lobster, instead it was half a lobster likely 6-8 oz. There was no view at all from the restaurant, we ate in an enclosed dim room. We were truly disappointed I had high expectations, it has been highly rated in the past. It wasn’t just the view area 31 missed.
Had a relatively early reservation and was seated right away in the lovely back room facing the Brickell area and waterway. Service was excellent and the food was as well. I had the mahi special with a side of wilted greens (recommended by my server)-she did not steer me wrong! Definitely would go back...maybe next time I'm in Miami.
Very warm welcomed Resturant, feel friendly environment while I’m walking to the lobby, the talented waitress Ms Maria is unforgettable, because her art works & paintings are hang on the wall in the Resturant. All table wears & decors are extremely artistic !
This establishment initially looked amazing and we were excited about our visit. We arrived and in the entire restaurant there were about 4 other tables being waited. Not a lot based on the amount of tables they have, it was the slowest service ever on earth. To even get a drink it took over 20mins. We were never checked on we had to continually wave down our waiter Marquise. Nice gentleman but his wait skills are horrible, he was never busy and could have been doing a better job. My fiancé had to get the attention of another higher up to being to their attention the ridiculous waiting times. Once we got the food it was ok. The lamb was super fatty (I’ve never had my lamb with so much fat it was barely edible. My fiancé had the snapper which was ok but was such a small portion that he was still hungry after this meal.
To finish off, we left our service charge in cash and we’re charged the higher service charge instead, so for a $131 bill we basically paid a $50 tip for a poor dinner experience, Ridiculous,. I will never go to this restaurant again. Wish it could have been a better experience. I have called and sent an email about the unauthorized service charge but have not heard back at all from anyone.
This was my second time at Area 31 and I really love the view. Unfortunately the terrace is closed because the building is under construction. The view is not the same, not at all! The indoor local was extremely noisy! I felt so uncomfortable with that. It was difficult sometimes lisyen to the waitress. The tiny space had an echo which make it worse. The food was good and the service very fast. We were able to enjoy the view after our dinner. We went next door, to the pool area. In my opinion this place is not a good idea till the remodelation is done.
Great food with an incredibly tasty shrimp cocktail appetizer followed by amazing lamb!! The view was absolutely stunning from the 16th floor getting to look at downtown Miami!
Pedro my server was great! Service was amazing and very personal, and the food was amazing. I highly suggest the Chilaquiles. Sadly the outside patio was closed when I went, but still the interior of the restaurant was very classy and chic. I would highly recommend, and request Pedro!
