We have hot/cold buffet options for all functions with prices starting at £11 per head. Our food is seasonal and always prepared fresh in our kitchen. Full menus are available online, any dietary requirements please let a member of staff know while booking
Private party facilities
Three old properties of different layouts and designs make up our quirky, multi themed venue. All three rooms upstairs are available to privately hire for functions. The Oyster Room and floral-themed Ivy Room – both overlook the cathedral. Alternatively The Foxes Club offers a more private dining experience with a cocktail bar.

Everything was just perfect. We had bottomless brunch for 10 of us. The food was amazing the service was fantastic. Lovely inside lots of amazing photo opportunities

Place was decorated lovely but we were a bit disappointed with the menu. We’d checked the menu out online beforehand but our mistake, we hadn’t realised it was only a brunch menu until 2pm and there wasn’t very much on it for lunch. I ordered a ciabatta it came with chips and side salad however the chips were just frozen chips and rock hard, looked like they’d been thrown back in the pan for a second time. We were then offered the dessert menu and when we all said yes, the server came back and said desserts aren’t available at this time, but will be next time you come! Overall, was an ok price for what we had but everyone left feeling a bit hungry and underwhelmed. Lovely setting, not too busy. Did ask if they knew where the coasters were from on the table as they looked lovely, to which the lady replied, we have them counted so you can’t steal them!

Called for lunch on a Sat afternoon. We had pre booked & paid £5pp deposit. We were warmly greeted, shown to our table & served with water fir the table as well as our chosen drinks quickly. Was slightly disappointed with the reduced brunch menue rather than the main menu with it being a Sat. That said we chose a wrap with salad & fries which was delicious & excellent vfm. Will recommend & revisit.

Food was very disappointing. Four of us had salmon which was undercooked and the vegetables were also undercooked, We had desserts and two of the desserts were cold and had to be sent back. Very limited lunchtime choice on menu. Staff were good and very attentive but unfortunately the food badly let the place down.

The atmosphere is always pleasant and we were seated next to a window overlooking the bridge, the river, the castle and the cathedral. It was beautiful and added to our enjoyment of eating. The food is melt in the mouth good and I would recommend - in fact I've recommended it to a friend whose daughter is at university in Durham and they are aiming to visit soon.

What a great night, the food was amazing and the staff could not be more helpful. Its a lovely bar and restaurant, great atmosphere and great value for money. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be going again

Sunday lunch was really good, ample portions with separate sides of veg and cauliflower cheese. Excellent value for money. Staff were lovely, very friendly and helpful. The restaurant had a lovely feel to it. Definitely worth a second visit.
