The Columbia Gorge Hotel has been given a much needed refurbish. It is really nice. The restaurant is a good place to go for a nice lunch during a trip through the Gorge. The fish and chips were really good. Our server was excellent.

Dinner was delicious. Ambiance was delightful. Service was the worst experience that I have ever had at such a lovely establishment. I am a retired teacher and one of my favorite subjects to teach was food service. Our server was not trained.

Food was delicious. Service was very good. We had asked for a window table to celebrate our anniversary, and though several were open, we were seated by a wall. The entrees were great, wine pours were generous, but the appetizer was very plain and hard for 2 to share.

The worst desserts on the planet. Returned a berries and ice cream compote that was sour, even the ice cream! Was brought a chocolate cake that tasted like a Tootsie Roll. Unbelievable. A vending machine dessert would have been far better. When you treat yourself to a good dinner, and Cliff House dinners are expensive, you don’t want to leave regretting your decision to eat there. The quality of an ending colors your entire experience.

We loved the Columbia Gorge Hotel, but the restaurant was definitely the only negative of our stay. The menu is super limited, and everything we had was not good. The salmon was so bad that it was sent back barely eaten. The seafood pasta was just poorly cooked pasta with a bad alfredo sauce and very little seafood. We ate breakfast there too, against our better judgement and it was not as bad as dinner, but it was not good either. The biggest issue with the cost is VERY high for the very poor quality of the meal. I would not recommend the restaurant at all.

This was our second visit, the first being a few years ago. The illusion of high end shown through. The remodel is nice, but the chairs are still well past their prime. The price per entree is overpriced by $10. The lamb chops were good, but the salmon was dry and too fishy. The waiter was nice but came across as a little cheesy almost like trying perform for a tip. What is in need of the most attention is the bill folder… it was well past the point of needing to be replaced and the pen did not write well. For the premium being charged, a touch nicer pen can be provided when signing over $100 for a 2 person meal.

There on Mother’s Day. Meh food - hot food luke warm, pasta in pasta salad hard, home style breakfast potatoes hard, waffles hard and dry, scrambled eggs watery, soup spoon and bowl used to serve waffle syrup. Not aware buffet was only option, not informed by greeter that served us and 10 minutes before greeted by a wait staff person. Cost was over $150 for two for above food and 2 drinks. Really, surprisingly, disappointing. View was lovely.

Honestly the charm of this hotel and restaurant seem to be waning a bit. I find the main dining area dark and conference center-like. I hope the renovation doesn’t end as it is. The food is fine. I’ve always enjoyed the brunch, dinner has been nice. A general “3 stars” - which is a shame, such a lovely place could be far better.

There were not many people in the dining room, so we had very personalized service from Tom. We had the lamb and the halibut special, and both very flavorful and cooked properly. The view is wonderful and we spent almost 2 hours just enjoying each other's company and our meal. We never felt rushed.

Our reservation seemed to not be available for the hostess. We were told window tables only seat 2. There were no 4 tables in the window area for that size of group to have a view. We asked for one custom feature with our meal- warm the pie. It was not warmed. Our waiter did not serve our food so he did not know our request had not been fulfilled. He was excellent. He immediately brought a warmed piece of pie.

It was our 15th wedding anniversary and the first weekend away from the kids in a while; our experience far exceeded our expectations. The service was exceptional and the atmosphere was amazing. The hotel had someone playing piano in the bar area and he was amazing, it really made dinner an entire experience. As for the food a quick story- When I was in Afghanistan there were locals who would cook for us. Once a week or so they would make lamb curry with fry bread and every week or so I would eat myself sick because it was so good. I ordered the Roasted Lamb Chops and they were perfect. I haven’t had lamb that good since my days in Afghanistan, perfectly cooked and flavored. The Triple Cream Brie was also a very nice treat, as I've never tried that before. Thank you for an amazing night with great music and great food.

The hotel and restaurant is still undergoing a remodel so the ambiance will be improving, although not bad. A mix of old and new decor. Our server, Chris, was outstanding. He made sure the meal was not rushed and used subtle cues to let us know when each course was coming. The quality of the food was impeccable. The duck was cooked perfectly. We were surprised, but pleased, that the half duck was actually the bottom half. We were happy to have two thighs and two legs. The lamb chops were cooked to our preference perfectly. The mussels were some of the best we have had. The baked brie was excellent.

Step into the past with the elegant ambience of the 40's. Lovely decor, lighting and restaurant setup. And the VIEW!!!! Even after dark the lovely fairy lights in the garden makes the place look magical. A lovely place to feel special. I had the seafood pasta which was to die for. Seafood was soft and tasty and the pasta was fresh and the sauce creamy. The filet mignon on the other hand was boring and over the top in price ($61) for a dish that was very under whelming. I don't mind paying top dollar for good food, my husband was a little disappointed. The lounge was great too. Staff were superb!! I would definitely go back.
