   Y’all this place is baaaaad. I appreciate their attempt to bring new and unique cuisine but pairing a Portuguese menu with Polish dishes is just…not working out. The price point is fine dining but the service is “chain restaurant on a bad day” - total disappointment. We didn’t stay past the apps. Just got our check and headed elsewhere. Disappointing experience and would not “volver” if you paid us.

   Very nice pre-Orchestra dinner. Excellent service from Greg and a perfectly lovely meal - the little dinner rolls are just the best ever! - with chicken and fish for entrees. Both were very well presented and tasted wonderful. In and out without any worry about being late for the performance. A very pleasant dinner in an attractive restaurant - looking out on the street was delightful, as was seeing the kitchen at work. Terrific place.

   We were looking forward to a nice meal having read good reviews online. When we arrived we were immediately struck by how cold the restaurant was. When we spoke with our server asking politely if it was possible to turn off the a/c or raise the temperature, he told us there was nothing they could do as the temperature was centrally controlled. The manager also said that she ‘had been cold all day’. The correct response would have been to try to address the issue rather than telling customers there was nothing they could do. Eventually the chef can out and spoke with us. We explained the same issue to her and she told us she would try to address the issue. Eventually we were informed that they had tried to do something but we don’t know whether anything had been done or not. The food was good and tasty, although unremarkable. The wine was quite expensive for what it was - the cheapest bottle of red was $ 75. Overall the experience was ruined by the uncomfortable conditions in the restaurant and the lack of empathy from our server.

   This review is focused on the service. I was very disappointed in the service here- we dined at 8pm after the theater show started so it was not busy and yet we ordered one round of drinks and an appetizer and 45 minutes went by and the waiter never returned to take our order. I was really interested in trying Chef Tonii Hicks' food, but by that point we were so disappointed in the service that we wanted to take our business elsewhere. When there are only 4 tables seated and the rest of the restaurant is empty in a fine dining restaurant, you shouldn't have to get your waiter's attention to order things, they should be coming back to check on you on a regular basis.

   Excellent food, good ambiance, even go a chance to meet the chef in residence Tonii Hicks super nice and awesome. Only bad thing is the exorbitant up charge on a bottle of wine it was more than the 2 dinners

   We enjoyed the artichoke salad to start which was excellent. My husband had the lamb chops that were served with black eye peas that were a bit harder than I might like. The rub used on the lamb was delicious and the grilling was perfect. The grilled bass was a lit soggy when it arrived served with peas, green beans, and asparagus in a cream sauce. The pudding desert was nice to finish but could have had more fruit. The service we received was very helpful, friendly, and prompt in response. We would return for another visit after the theater.

    Volver is always a culinary adventure, pairing it’s core Garces-influenced menu with an ever-revolving choice from the latest guest Chef de cuisine. The curated specialty cocktails are incredible and creative. But the absolute best feature of Volver is it’s incredible, attentive, best-in-City waitstaff.

    We were seated in the bar area by a window along the street. The restaurant was noticeably chilly. It took a while until the server came, but then the service was fine. The food was interesting, but not remarkable, and the entire experience somewhat disappointing.

    Food came out exceptionally fast, and it was beyond delicious, my eyes rolled so far back with each bite I could see my brain. The smooth operator cocktail had me delightfully tipsy. Overall a great experience and I can’t wait to come back!

    Had a great experience before seeing Gregory Porter perform. The drinks were well made and tasty. The food was perfect to order (temperature) and was very flavorful. I would absolutely return again. The staff were all friendly and engaging as well.

    We reserved a table during Restaurant Week. We were informed that the restaurant decided to stop participating in Restaurant Week when we got there. We were given the option of having one entree covered. The food and experience was underwhelming.

    We were seated at the Chef Counter, as requested. It was wonderful to watch the talented team work so collaboratively! And the food?? Awesome! I had the Sunchoke and Kale small plate that was delicious. The gnocchi were soft little pillows of deliciousness coated in a lovely cream sauce with exotic mushrooms, cheese, garlic and truffles. My husband’s cheesesteak spring rolls were also delicious as was his duck breast.

    We have a great date there. The shrimp and the spring rolls were amazing! The entrees of chicken and short ribs were really a perfect portion and packed with flavors. The cocktails were well balanced, and the zero-proof cocktails was also wonderful.

    The ambiance was lovely. Very nice place to go before a show. Food was good. Everything was cooked to perfection. I waiter was nice but there was areas for improvement as he forgot the tape of water we requested, the lemons I asked for ( he brought limes) and the beer I ordered. But to me these were minor things. And I would return to the restaurant.

    This place is truly a gem. The food, service, and vibe are exceptional. I waited too long before making a reservation here - trust me you won’t want to do that. All of the happy hour apps were so delicious but you’ll want to order regular menu portion sizes. The Brussels sprouts with bacon are a perfect first appetizer. Other favorite dishes were the Short Rib with carrots over polenta (Juan Lopez visiting chef special), and the delicious strawberry flan. Valentina went above and beyond in making sure my girlfriend and I enjoyed an anniversary dinner- we already are talking about going back.

    Part of the pan seared duck breast was raw and service wasn’t super efficient. I was a little disappointed because my first time there was a nice experience. The ambience is still pretty good though.

    If you're doing a Phil Orch or Kimmel program, the location can't be beat. Service was friendly, quick & efficient. The 'Theater Menu' was a bit limited but appears to have assured the 'quick & efficient' part of Service - always important when trying to make a program. The value is good & the food quality was, for the most part, excellent. The noise level was low for quiet conversation, & if you get a window seating it makes for an interesting view & fun people watching. (PS: Volver dropped out of Restaurant Week on short notice. To make up for that they offered a choice of free entry or appetizer. It wasn't really necessary (the Theater Menu sufficed) but it was a nice gesture. Freebies are always appreciated.)

    So happy that we could catch resident chef Chance Anies at Volver! We have been fans of the Tabachoy food truck and enjoyed our more upscale meal at Chef Garces restaurant. The crab turnovers were amazing as were the Kare Kare short rib. Hope some of these items can make their way to the brick and mortar Tabachoy restaurant!!

    We had an excellent meal and totally enjoyed Volver. I had the chorizo soup, unbelievable. My wife had the Sea Bass and it was cooked to perfection. we split a green salad, the dressing was fabulous. We chose a french Syrah which went perfectly with our meal. I highly recommend this restaurant

    What a disappointment. We love the other Jose Garces restaurants and had reservations at Amada. We changed them at the last minute because we wanted to try Volver. A regrettable decision in every way. We should have realized something was amiss when the restaurant was all but empty at 7:30 on a Friday evening. The food overall lacked flavor, but worse our meals (there were four of us) all came out about 20-30 minutes apart from each other. Two of them were actually cold. While I appreciate that the manager took those two off the bill, the rest of the experience was so underwhelming that I can say with confidence we will not be giving Volver a second chance.

    Amazing! The Resident Chef's food was amazing (Chef Chance Aines). Hector was incredibly kind and hospitable and made the experience even better. The drinks were pricey but so tasty. Also really enjoyed the ambiance overall. Great recommendation for a special night with someone you love.

    Meal was good until my wife's steak came. Had to be returned at medium, it was tough and full of grizzle. Second one came out even smaller, not much better in taste. For a $42. steak, it might have been 2 to 3 ounces. Whish I had taken pics of each.

    The food was outstanding, and our server was very warm and attentive. However, we actually had to rush to get to our curtain on time, even though we purchased the pre-theater meal for a full two hours before the event. We would have ordered off of the full menu if we had had a sense of the timing.
