   I've been here a handful of times. Lively atmosphere, might be too loud for people who aren't in their 20s. Staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. I'm always impressed by the quality of the food - everything is fresh and well-seasoned, portions are good value for the price. I'll definitely be back!

    We were greeted with a super friendly host who asked us to wait at the bar and have a drink while our table was being prepared. Within 10min, we were escorted to our table and met with yet another super friendly staff member. He recommended the happy hour meat platter for dinner paired with the Buta Kakuni for a starter. I can't even describe how amazing the Buta was but if you come here, please order it! We finished the night off with vanilla bean panna cotta with a strawberry brunoise.

    We came here to try something different, as we hadn't had Japanese BBQ like this before. Everything was very good and we felt it was worth the price. All of our servers recommendations were spot on (quantity and menu choices). We'll definitely be back!

    We had a fantastic experience tonight at Niwa! CeCe and team provided great recommendations for food (beef belly, ribeye, shrimp and wagu) and drink (yukarita cocktail)! We left full and happy! Definitely coming back for happy hour (Tuesdays) to enjoy the prices!

    Jennifer was awesome assisting us with menu decisions. Definitely get the gyoza dumplings that are made once a day! Cooking on the table side grill is fun and allows you to pace your meal. Panacotta dessert is delicious.

    We usually go on Tuesdays or meet day on the 29th, but we decided to go for a date night supper as we had friends in from out of town. We ordered our favorite meats hanger steak smoked fillet miso skirt, short rib and shrimp. The filet mignon was so delicious and buttery by itself, but we usually love dipping them in the three sauce’s. This was the first time we got the pickled cucumbers as an appetizer, but they were a delicious palate cleanser, especially after eating the kimchi, which is spicy, another favorite of ours. And when you’re here you definitely have to start off with an order of deviled eggs as an appetizer. Coming from someone who’s been here on average, at least once a month for the last two years, definitely when you order your meat, make sure to order a side of salt and pepper, because we love to further season our meat, and also be sure to order a side of tongue sauce basically just sesame oil salt, pepper, and scallions mixed up but also a delicious side to dip your meat into!

    It was date night for my wife and I and decided to try something new. Cooking food in a restaurant setting and our server Alejandro made our first time experience great. We had Karaage (Japanese fried chicken) and deviled eggs for starters which were very tasty. For our meats we had chicken thigh, shrimp, filet mignon, short ribs and Berkshire pork sausage and our vegetables were zucchini, asparagus, rice, onions & peppers. Everything was well seasoned and absolutely delicious and we had more than enough. We also had The Hummingbird and The Yukarita to drink and they were delicious also. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone and look forward to visiting again.

    We love Niwa and visit very often but it wasn’t awesome last night. The grill wasn’t hot enough so beef wasn’t taste perfect and quality of meat weren’t usual. So, we didn’t send much last night. I hope the Grill gets hot next time.

    Went for happy hour on a Tuesday, and had one of the best dining experiences we've ever had in Deep Ellum. Service was incredible, food was fantastic, and the ambiance was perfect. We already can't wait to go back!

    First time here and first time doing Korean bbq. We absolutely loved it. It is a great date place. We had an amazing, Knowledgeable waiter and unfortunately I can’t remember his name. The food was delicious and all of the meat was very tender. We will definitely come back.
