The Kitchen | Shelby Farms Park
The menu will offer simple, seasonal dishes that feature fresh ingredients sourced from the community of farmers, ranchers and purveyors located in and around the Memphis area. We believe that gathering around the table and sharing good food and drink is what connects us as family, friends and a community.

Lunch date with my husband
Recommend reservations for lake view seating! Great service with super fresh options.
The staff gave us a great table and a card for our anniversary signed by the staff. The view and ambiance was great. The food was very very good and we can’t wait to go back.
It was a surprise 19 year anniversary for my wife. I was allowed to bring flowers and wine in early to set up the table for the night. When my wife arrived she was greeted by the warm staff with congrats and a personal card they had for our occasion. Our kind servers we can't say much more then professional and hope to have them again. Thanks for helping make our 19th a memorable one.
Service was excellent, food was delicious and sitting outside on such a perfect fall day just made it even more perfect!
Had a delightful work/birthday lunch! Such a beautiful venue with great and creative food.
This is the 4th time we have had family in town and eaten there. Outstanding - the only problem is this is the second time one of us did not get something we ordered until we pointed the omission out to the waitress. 2 out of 4 is not good.
Great service, great sunset views and great food! Our server was very friendly and helpful and made great recommendations. The pork chop was amazing!
The waitress was great. Food was delicious!
Great experience. Loved it
The tasty, fresh food and beautiful ambience keep me coming back for more.
We were left waiting at the hostess station for 10 minutes, then when seated, the waitress didn't know we were there and we waited another 20 minutes till I went and found her.
My salad was not as described, and over-dressed. The mussels were big, juicy and tender, but the broth had too much cream (hey, any cream is too much in mussels). My husband's steak was tough and over-spice-rubbed.
I've been here numerous times and each time I am left feeling meh! Go for a cocktail enjoy the view , food is ok. Loud inside .
Great quality food. Not too expensive. Unbeatable view of Shelby county’s gem park.
Experience was generally good.
Good food, excellent service, but a bit noisy. Could at least turn down the background music.
The food was delicious! The service from Michelle was superb!
The food was fresh and had quality ingredients. The roasted okra appetizer was spectacular.
Good food. Great service. Great atmospher
This was our first time at The Kitchen. Favorite new place in Memphis!!!
We had patio reservations and even though there was rain that evening the view was quite nice even without the sunset I had anticipated when establishing our plans online. I took advantage of reviewing the menu on the website to have an idea of what I would want to order beforehand and wasn't disappointed at all. The staff was tremendously enthusiastic and knowledgeable. This was my first visit and I was pleased.
Surprisingly good brunch menu
Food was good, but not exceptional. Wine prices are ridiculous— grossly marked up, way beyond the standard markup for this market.
Staff didn’t know anything much about the dishes on the menu and even less about the wine list. Pleasant people, but had not been trained.
Good place for drinks on the patio and a good sunset, but go somewhere else for dinner
The wine list is one of the worst I've ever encountered and way over priced. We had to send a ribeye steak back because is was poorly cooked and tough and the restaurant didn't compensate for it. Very, very disappointing experience.
Beautiful outdoor dining spot and great cocktails! I will be back!
The air conditioning was broken so hard to give fair opinion. They did try to call and tell us but I missed the call. We had to ask manager to sit outside because the restaurant was entirely too hot. Luckily there was a cancellation for outdoor dining and we got that table. Service was slow but food was pretty good. Nice to sit on lake and watch sunset.
Every visit has been outstanding. The Brunch on Sunday has become my favorite time to eat at The Kitchen.
I have 25+ years in the restaurant business and I know quality food, hospitality, value, which are all top notch at this restaurant.
Brunch is great , I like it much better than dinner.
Love this place. The chickpea fries are my favorite.
I love this place!!! The service was great! However, consider the caliber of restaurant, the greeters aren’t the most upbeat and welcoming. They seem to just want to get you to your table. My husband and I are frequent visitors to local restaurants for our date night. This was our second evening here but my 5th or 6th visit. When we go to Stoney River, Southern Social, Seasons 52, Capital Grille, or any of the others in the East Memphis area the greeters are very warm and welcoming upon your arrival. Other than that, the food and the view of the lake are simply amazing!!!
Great outdoor space to dine and enjoy the sunset
This was our second time at the Kitchen; this time dinner, and previously lunch. Both times, the food and service have been good. There is an emphasis on locally-sourced ingredients. For us, the primary draw of this restaurant is its lakeside location at a nearby county park; providing a particularly enjoyable view at sunset (a time when reservations are often essential). Overall, we have enjoyed our dining experiences at the Kitchen. I would say that two drawbacks are a relatively limited menu, and prices that are on the high side when compared to similar fare at other restaurants. I would recommend looking at the menu online in advance.
This was my second time eating at The Kitchen and both times were disappointing but this time the food was completely inedible. I had the Gulf Shrimp Salad, I asked for the dressings on the side and it came to the table swimming in aioli, the server took it back for a new one and the shrimp on the second salad were a different preparation, they were ice cold and over cooked. The consensus at the table was all entrees were of poor quality (Pasta Bolognese and Fried Chicken Banh Mi). The hostess was very unpleasant and our table service lacking. Had they been slammed, I would understand but they were not. I never write reviews like this, as I have worked in the restaurant industry for years and understand things happen but this overall experience was too poor not to share. The only positive aspect of the experience were the cocktails and sitting outside with a view of Shelby Farms.
Very wholesome food
Great first experience. We will be back
This was my first time visiting The Kitchen and my expectations were blown out of the water. The food, ambiance and view were exceptional. This is definitely a place we will frequent.
Food and drink excellent and the best scenic view in Memphis for outside dining and sunset!
I have gone to The Kitchen @ Shelby Farms Park numerous times since moving here 18 months ago and have noticed some significant decline in what I would have previously categorized as a "must go" place to eat. Areas like food quality and service seem to be experiencing inconsistency. On this occasion we arrived for our 5:45 reservation to be only the second party seated outside for dinner. While there were several four top tables available, perhaps reserved, but available, we were seated at looked like an old wrought iron patio table pulled from somewhere else in the park with 4 uncomfortable chairs right next to the other party already seated. I asked if we could be moved to one of the other open 4 top tables and it was a big production. The waitress came back to say, well there is only one table left you can move to and it was one in the corner closest to the entrance to the main restaurant. Okay, we moved. The funny thing was throughout our whole evening, there was consistently two to three four top tables available. I get it, there are not a lot of scenic dining options available in Memphis, so The Kitchen has the corner on the market, but they should take note, that most people eventually use a cost/benefit analysis.
We have enjoyed The Kitchen every time we have been! We will be going again very soon!
Our server was not very engaged at all. We waited nearly 15 minutes after being seated to be treated and have our drink orders taken. That set the tone for the rest of our visits.
