Grayson Social Ratings and Reviews
We went around 7 on a Saturday night and it was essentially a ghost town. While the hostess/waitress was nice, service was appallingly slow given the fact that there were fewer than 20 people in the restaurant. We had every intention of staying for dinner but after getting our mediocre appetizer before our cocktails that we ordered when we were seated, we decided to go across the street for faster service and better food. Unfortunately, there is a reason that this cute restaurant is completely empty in downtown Dallas on a Saturday night.
The service was good and the restaurant has a really cool vibe, but I don't think the food was worth the prices at all. The drinks were also expensive (and I was overcharged for my drink!), so for that reason I probably won't return. It was convenient to just walk down to the lobby to get brunch while staying at the Hilton Garden Inn.
It was the worst experience I’ve ever had. The hostess was rude we had a reservation and she said they were too busy they couldn’t take us. This was supposed to be our for Easter brunch. They had advertised a buffet and there was just a small menu for Easter brunch! Ruined our day
It seems this restaurant is in the middle of a flux. The menu has been cut down to just a few items and one waitress was available for the entire restaurant. We've been here many times before and it was always wonderful, but there seems to be a change in management in progress or something. Wouldn't recommend it until it gets everything worked out!
We drove around for 30 minutes trying to find the restaurant. The address was not correct on open table or on the restaurant website. We then called the restaurant several times to ask location and there was no answer. We also asked valet and they couldn’t seem to tell us where it was. This ruined our Friday night.
Was disappointed bc the menu was not the same as their online menu. Their menus did not have a huge selection. On the day of my reservation which was schedule for 1130 a.m. i recieved a call at 7 or 8 a.m. telling me they were closing doors early at 11 a.m. and i needed to come before 11 a.m. i thought that was bad service especially on the day of on a Christmas Eve day. For was decent and prices were ok
Wow- Grayson Social is a great little place to eat and chat. The food is great (I had chicken and waffles for brunch) and the ambiance is so pretty. But the best part was the service. We had Bani taking care of our large group and he was efficient and friendly. The owner checked on us several times, too. I spent a week in downtown Dallas for a conference and this was my favorite meal by far. Thanks Grayson Social! #besocial
Went for dinner. Made reservation through Open Table. When I️ arrived they had said that the dinning room was closed and I would have to sit in bar. The menu was a “bar menu” with very limited selection. I️ found something decent, but disappointed in the fact that they didn’t serve the dinner menu from their website.
I have visited Grayson Social before on many occasions, twice with booking a group reservation of 15+. I was so impressed the first time, that I came back again, and next time with me people. This time I was completely UNHAPPY after realizing the entire menu had been changed. They had taken off some of their top dishes, to include Cheese grits, Killer biscuits, and the excellent thick cut bacon they once served, plus a Buscuit and bacon sandwich that was amazing.
I was distraught and wanted to walk off, but I had brought another group of friends to try out the wonderful place, and I could not leave. The menu was VERY LIMITED! The ambience is still beautiful, so hopefully they won't change that, but I was told that was about to happen as well.
Management should realize that some things are better left alone, and it's different and wonderful tasting food options that help business flourish. Marketing is the main issue, along with steady management. When those things are properly in place, all else will fall into place.
Good luck on what's in store next. I'm hopeful you bring back the menu items that were once loved by all
We came in for a post-bachelorette party Sunday brunch. It was the perfect end to a very fun weekend. The food was amazing, very much high end versions of classic Southern comfort food. Our bride to be is from Georgia so she was in heaven. The cocktails and the coffee were delicious and the service could not have been better. We will all definitely be back.
Your website says you have valet but there is NO SIGNAGE for this. Drove around the block 3x, finally gave up and parked in the garage next door -- $15!!!!? My $12 salad was sad. Lettuce and cucumber and a few tomatoes. No bread, no other veggies. $60 for lunch for 3, PLUS parking. No wonder we were the only people there.
We waited over 45 minutes for greasy country fried stream and egg, overcooked Kobe burgers (which did not come in kid size as originally promised) and a disappointing not-so-fresh-tasting biscuit. Only the homemade parfait with granola was good. Their cocktail menu is very nice but their coffee is very weak and they don't even have cappuccinos!
Our experience was a dreadful nightmare of horrible service and inconsistent food quality. After making the manager aware of all the issues (he'd disappeared for some time during the debacle and I had to ask for him) he did offer to comp the meal, which we appreciated. But I was thoroughly embarrassed to have taken a group of people to this incompetently managed restaurant and would never recommend it.
It was a Thursday night and the restaurant was not extremely busy but the wait staff and management were very attentive. They continually checked in to make sure that the food was to our liking and the service met our expectations. The food was well prepared and presented. The prime rib was cooked to my specifications (medium rare) and had an excellent flavor.
Went to Grayson Social for Mother's Day. It was extremely quiet and empty, to the point where we sat in the bar because we felt uncomfortable. The drinks were extremely over priced, food was decently priced for the quality. One order was wrong, a few items tasted frozen, waitress was nice but never asked how everything was. Overall, it was a very mediocre experience. Beautiful interior and finish out.
Very nice venue in downtown office building. The live music was fun - but way too loud so (after we commented and then asked if they could have it lowered and had no response only a blank stare) we requested to sit all the way in the back, which wasn't the nicest table available. Knowing what I know now, for an almost $200 brunch I would have chosen elsewhere.
The Mother's Day buffet was supposed to begin at ten and did not. The buffet was poorly arranged, being spread out all over the front of the restaurant and requiring guests to cross the hostess stand crowd to gain access. Because it was only partially ready at ten and was not opened, salads/cheeses were too warm when made available.
Service was dreadful. No one seemed to know who was supposed to wait on our table. We saw four different folks, none of whom claimed actual responsibility & it took 15 minutes for my daughter to order a Shirley Temple, which took another 15 to arrive. A single mother and a well-behaved child, we are used to treating ourselves on Mother's Day, but would never do so again at Greyson Social. The service is 1000x better at a neighborhood place like Campisi's, without the $100 price tag for the meal, which neither the food (about which I have no complaints, but it was nothing special) nor the service merited.
This was an extremely unpleasant experience for me because dining alone with even the best child is stressful when the table is ignored, and food and drink are slow to be offered.
The staff at Grayson Social were very accommodating.
We were 30 minutes late to our reservation because we got stuck trying to park our van next door in the parking garage. That turned into a huge mess because the van was too tall for the garage and despite telling the valet to let us back out of the garage they forced us to drive to the 3rd level and exit there. Long story short the top of our van got scratched up from the concrete beams and took us 30 min just to navigate through the garage. $2500 of damage and 30 min later we exit out the garage to park somewhere else.
The staff realized we were having a horrible morning and welcomed us with a complimentary bottle of champagne and apologized for the morning issues. I can respect the staff for their sympathy and helping to turn around our experience. Overall the brunch menu was great and the interior and ambiance were comfortable and charming.
Under different circumstances we would of had a great Mothers Day brunch here. Food and atmosphere were on point. Unfortunately the garage issue still weighs heavily. That valet company and garage owner should be sued (we were not the only people they screwed over) the family exiting behind us put a $20 bill in their machine and weren't given back their change. Crooked businesses like that should be run out of town.
Valet was hard to find and wasn't visible to drivers. Restaurant was empty on a Friday night. Wait staff was not knowledgeable on the menu. Bar isn't stocked properly. Managers were unkind to wait staff in front of guests. Fire alarm went of during dinner and we were asked to vacate the premises. Ambiance and branding was top notch, but not enough for me to return to this establishment.
Over priced for what it is and totally not worth it, will never return again. There craft cocktails where mostly ice and didn't taste good, returned one which was awful, we wanted the Thai margarita and apparently it's ridiculously spicy - ok why have something on the menu if no one can have it?? The food was nothing spectacular, ordered three seafood plates, many other great places to spend my money at. The restrooms are outside in the lobby of the building.
The evening we were there the fire alarm went off and we had to leave after just maybe have a few bites of our entrees. The server put our napkins over our food (three seafood plates at that) and when the firemen were done we were supposed to eat the napkin covered cold food to which we declined. Got the bill for our cocktails - 4 cocktails with tip came to $70!!! Are you kidding me?? Many excellent places in Dallas, not worth coming here.
Our service was extraordinarily slow and the food incredibly disappointing. The only saving grace was that they comped our meal. Though the staff was kind, I will not be going back and don't recommend that anyone risk it unless you are a very patient person with a small appetite.
I was very impressed with the wait staff. Our waiter apologized for the slow service, however I didn't think that the service was very slow. As the restaurant became more crowded, the efficiencies were still there. I will go back for brunch on the weekends many more times.
