We had a sample of both pizza and pasta, and all our meals were great. Plate prices are a little on the high side, but are ok if you are able to share.
Had the creek brûlée French toast
It was ok
I like the patio in the back
And staff are friendly and polite
Great food! Terrible service!
Decent food. Really inattentive service. There were 4 tables and our server still couldn’t do the basics like refilling water. We were almost done with our meal before she stopped by the first time to see how everything was. She didn’t say “thanks for coming” or anything. Really not polished.
To even be on Open Table is shocking. This place is really a dump! The food was mediocre
I had chicken picatta which was very rubbery. My husband had the penne arriabiatta with chicken
also very average. The bread is delish, the staff is very nice, but it really was shocking when
we got there. Close to the Greek Theatre, but we won't go back.
Very accommodating , super friendly staff and the food outstanding. Chicken parm was amazing!
We asked for the sandwich not to be toasted and for them to put anchovies in the Caesar salad. We were very disappointed to find that they messed up both requests. We care for a business lunch and didn’t have time to wait for them to fix it. Food was good but service was inattentive and poor
Awesome place. Incredible outdoor patio at back. Food is exceptional.
Food was pretty good. Although it took a bit longer than on previous visits, it tasted great and the service was friendly and frequent, but not intrusive. BYOB so we brought a bottle of sparkling with us and enjoyed the outdoor patio. Have been there for brunch on the weekends before and I'm glad I checked it out for a late Labor Day breakfast. Will definitely go again!
Very enjoyable meal. Terrific and friendly service! Meatball appetizer fantastic. Pizza was very good, not sure I’d get the spicy meat with honey pizza again, but would certainly like to go back and try more items from the menu. If you’re going to see a movie at The Vista theater, then this is THE place for dinner.
I don't remember our waiter's name but he was so sweet! He told us about his favorite menu items and was attentive but not pushy.
Great Service and reliably good Italian food. We all enjoyed our food and appreciated the attentive service.
I came here for my birthday brunch. I really wanted to find a BYOB brunch spot and came across this place! You can literally bring whatever alcohol you'd like and they'll provide ice and cups for you. The service was amazing, our waitress was super accommodating. Food was really good too. The only thing I didn't like were the swarm of flies, but that comes with dining outdoors I guess :(. I will be back!!
Waited long time for service throughout entire meal. Nice inside, wanted to like it, just very poor service even during a light crowd...can only imagine when it gets busy.
Small intimate restAurant--best part is the outdoor garden in the back which is charming----service friendly and effeciant---neighborhood not so good.
The service here is incredible. We got some great recommendations, and a lot of attention, even when other tables started filling up. Everyone loved the food they got (gnocchi, pizza, calamari), and really enjoyed the big movie screen once that got started. I will definitely return, but probably not until it cools off.
We went for lunch while visiting LA on family vacation. This little hole in the wall is a MUST!!!! I had to order The Sit Down pizza since we were there and it did not disappoint. My husband and daughter split a pizza and the lasagna; the lasagna was amazing. Our youngest daughter got a half cheese and half margherita pizza - she pretty much ate the entire pizza and what she didn’t finish, she ended up eating as we waited in LA traffic. Very much recommend if you are in the area!!!
Went for our anniversary brunch. The lavender honey toast is SO GOOD!! Definitely coming back here soon
The food was amazing we loved it and we shared the plates so we tried a few things. Zucchini pesto pasta- yummm
Salmon salad - wow
And some muzarella delicious.
Service was a bit slow and we were one of the only customers. But I guess they put lots of love on the food.
Very nice server and beautiful back yard. Will come back
Yummy and thank you!
Lunch was delish and such a cute gem of a place. Our Server Casey had a great personality and was excellent.
Superb Italian cooking with a home cooking flair! Pasta was perfect with sauces that screamed Mama’s recipies. The Pizza was cooked in a wood fired oven visible as you enter. Slightly charred thin crust the enhanced terrific sauce culminating in Pies at their best!
Great food and service an unusual location.
Went for brunch. Our waiter and other staff members were very friendly, however the food took forever, and was pretty average. I have eaten there before and it was pretty good for pizza and salad. Brunch was a disappointment.
We went for brunch, and it was pretty much empty besides my group. The server was nice but the food took forever and was just ok
1st time here..... Drove all the way from Rancho Cucamonga..... And we definitely dive again and again for the chicken fettuccine Pizza 🍕 the white sauce has so many flavors that tie together so well..... Not to mention the garlic cheese fries with freshly grated Parmesan cheese........ Absolutely amazing!
Was in LA visiting my daughter and we stopped here for dinner. The back outside courtyard area is lovely. Romantic and cozy with heaters and blankets if the weather isn't cooperating. The food is AMAZING, we shared the chopped antipasto, then my daughter had the gnocchi and I had ravioli, all were delicious. Heads up, this place is BYOB, which we didn't know beforehand. As seems to be typical in LA, the service left a lot to be desired. Our server was super friendly, I just don't think he'd ever been a waiter before. It was tolerable, but too bad, since the rest of the experience was so great - wouldn't keep me from going back, though.
Took my students for lunch. Everything -pastas and salads were outstanding. Been there several times
And will go back
Just awful. Back patio seating is so slanted we kept spilling. We ordered the Croque Madame, a sandwich that famously has cheese. It came with no cheese at all. When we asked the waiter, he went back to the kitchen and came back with the answer: "The cheese is in the sauce." No offer to remake the sandwich or take it off our bill. And while we were in the patio/holding cell, a helicopter for the nearby hospital roared just 100 feet over our heads. Never going back.
read a review that mentioned things like "In-organized" "Understaffed" "Cold" "Had to wait 1:30 hours for food" and this was about a month ago so naturally I became anxious and kind of worried that my date night could be ruined at this place. HOWEVER, other than the fact that the area where this restaurant is located seems sketchy, once I walked in I totally forgot that and was greeted nicely, immediately seated at one of the most beautiful outdoor patio dining spots I've ever been to. The waiter was awesome and food was served within an appropriate amount of time.
My girlfriend fell in love with this place and I got major brownie points for taking her there.
totally recommend for a Friday night romantic date
Service was GREAT. Food, MEH. Quite bland and boring, particularly when we chose Italian selections from the menu. Tiramisu FABULOUS. Americano FABULOUS. It's close to where I live, and I will give them another try, probably for brunch, but so far, food was less than impressive.
Awful. Staff is not kind.
This restaurant was a huge let-down. My boyfriend and I wanted to branch out of our usual few spots and the Sit-Down is in our neighborhood. We made reservations and read mostly positive reviews, so we were hopeful this place would make it onto our dining-out rotation. From the first moment, we were disappointed. The evening was cold, so the hostess wasn't outside at the hostess stand. After standing awkwardly outside, she finally saw us out there. She let us know that even though we had made reservations, the back patio was full (apparently this is the only decent area of this restaurant). We opted to sit inside, instead of the small front outside area, so she led us to a ridiculously-placed table right in the way of where the servers pick up food from the kitchen and walk through the dining area. We said we would wait for a different table to open up, so we were then sat at the smallest table I've ever seen in a restaurant - it was barely big enough for one person. The music was loud, the kitchen was obviously overwhelmed/understaffed, and there was no restaurant manager on site (which seems odd for a Saturday night). The hostess kept coming inside to hang out behind the cash register with two other staff members to chat which took up room in this tiny area. The other staff members behind the cash register seemed to only take phone call or walk-in orders, but didn't really service the dining room (does the Sit-Down really need two people scheduled to do this?). At one point there were so many staff members behind the cash register that the lid on a jar of honey used for one of the pizzas was knocked to the floor...which was then wiped off and replaced on the honey jar. Hello health code violation. When the food came (over an hour later), it was fine, but we were so over the chaos at the Sit-Down at this point that we just wanted to leave. Our server Casey was nice and clearly doing his best in a highly disorganized environment. We will never go back.
The ambience is kinda hip, kinda funky, country (please note this review is about 3 weeks post visit so my memory on decor is not crisp). It felt like a casual spot with nicely complementing colors. I recall the drinks served in colorful mason jars which I bought was cool. The menu options were varied and sounded yummy. The breakfast items we got were delicious. I had a Mediterranean omelette with a guava pancake (the day’s special). The server was super nice. Have marked this place as a go to breakfast spot for guests and Sunday ritual for family!
My wife’s new business.
friendly service, cozy place, great location. I loved a shared mix platter - starter!
We went for Sunday Brunch and left officially in love with this gem of a restaurant. This is definitely our new favorite brunch spot. The decor was super cute and the wood-burning stove made the place super cozy. To top it off, they even brought out blankets for everyone to get extra comfy. The place was so warm and inviting I never wanted to leave. The food was phenomenal, my fiancee had the NY Strip Steak & Eggs Benedict and I had the Crème Brûlée French Toast, both tasted like they were sent from heaven! We took full advantage of the BYO policy and brought a bottle of champagne, which our amazing server immediately put on ice for us! $5 for endless OJ and we had the most affordable, delicious bottomless mimosa brunch ever! But the big highlight for us was our server, Oscar. He was warm, funny, genuine and so enthusiastic about the restaurant that I thought he may have been the owner. We will definitely be back many times. We can't wait to go for dinner and eat on the beautiful back patio!
Service was slow but workers were extremely nice and hooked it up with free desert, 10/10 recommend said the goose!!
Took my niece and her husband to the SitDown for dinner. Absolutely wonderful experience. We brought our own wine wich the wait person opened for us. Our waitperson gave excellent advice and made our visit enjoyable, even making sure that we didn't leave our leftovers behind. Definitely worth visiting.
Excellent: small gem in silver lake . Very intimate place for every occasion .
This place is awesome! The food is seriously so delicious! The pizza is made fresh, in a wood-burning oven, and the pasta was also very very good. Everything was super flavorful, and the employees are all very helpful and kind. The inside seating area is a little small, but I like that it's cozy, and the patio is quite spacious and beautifully decorated. I will definitely be back here :)
