   The whole place smelled like smoke. Made our eyes watery. Smelled really bad. The Attitude of wait people is terrible. Food is very disappointing. We cannot finish the food coz it’s not tasty at all. Would never go again.

   Loved my first experience here! My friend and I decided to do the Afternoon Tea, and it was absolutely lovely. We tried 2 teas, the apricot and white rose petal, and they were so delicious! The sandwiches, scones, and desserts were incredibly scrumptious and delightful as well, and we both got quite full that we couldn't finish everything. The food, the tea, and the experience were perfect, and I can't wait to go back :D I keep thinking about the sandwiches and the tea!

   Have been looking for a good English roast for a while and finally found it!! As an additional bargain there is an English shop next door and a real fish and chip shop next to that. Super excited to try that out next. Thumbs up to Tea & Sympathy. I’ll definitely be back soon.

   Horrible, really badly behaved women, not ladies, serving. Just rude, and RIDICULOUS. If I could give 0 stars, I would have. We live in the neighbor. Never going back.

   Our kids love all things British and this is the perfect place to go to feel like we are back in London again. A great bit of fun.

   I come to Tea and Sympathy every time I come to NYC to visit my son. This time I brought his girlfriend who is British and was so disappointed. I ordered the afternoon tea she had the smoked trout and salad. I was so disappointed with the tea. Everything on the plate was stale. The deserts were 3 big pieces of cake, very uninteresting and actually the presentation was really quite unappetizing. I believe the price was $38 and that is not a small amount to pay for 8 finger sandwiches and 3 slices of cake. Nothing pretty or imaginative, no fruit or color very blah. My British friend did not comment but she did eat her lunch. While in the past, although not convenient (I stay on the UWS) this has been a lovely place to stop by for tea. I'm afraid, after this experience, I will not be coming again.

   The food is pretty good, and it's (somewhat) inexpensive for afternoon tea at $68 pre-tip for 2. However service is very slow and I often had to ask for something more than once (on one occasion, three times from two different people) to get it. Still, it's a nice spot!

   Lovely services and great food! I absolutely adored their ceramic teaware as well. Very quaint and cozy.

   Came for a truly authentic afternoon tea with my mother and we had a really marvelous time. Love Nicky’s rules on the front door, if you want to play you’ve got to follow the rules! Anyway, it wasn’t a very busy day there so we felt super comfortable spending the afternoon in the little window seat and chatting away. Really a great experience!

    One of my all time favorite restaurants. I love the food and the decor. Every time someone comes to visit me or I want to plan a girls lunch this is my go to.
