   A wonderful breakfast at The Garden Court in the Palace Hotel! All the dishes were beautifully presented with highest quality ingredients. The service was impeccable and welcoming. And of course, the surroundings were lovely.

   Brunch is not what it used to be. How can I make a reservation for a specific time, then have them email me to say they changed the time. No free mimosas. Half the food that they used to serve. Only saving Grace was the smoked salmon. A beautiful setting, even though the glass ceiling literally dripped on me. Cheaper than initially thought, but not a good value. Quite disappointed.

   Had a great time for my birthday breakfast. I thought they served brunch every Sunday but I was wrong. That's ok, it gave us more money for mimosas! The variety of food was good. Loved the scrambled eggs, the pecan bun, the French toast and the bacon! They even brought me a little cake for my birthday. All in all, it was fun to feel fancy and spend time in that amazing room! It's my favorite in San Francisco!

   My daughter and I made reservations for late Saturday tea. The traffic and navigating through the surrounding area to get to destination was extremely stressful! Allow 30-45 minutes additional travel time if you’re planning a Saturday visit. Valet was so helpful. The tea experience was average. Tea sandwich bread was dry, and the sweets were overly sweet. Had to ask for a hot water refill and our server rushed us by bringing check before we were done eating. Overall: beautiful space, tea service not worth the price.

   Got there hoping to order ala cart but once we got there they said buffet was the only thing available…or get charged with the $50 no show fee. Mediocre food.

   Unfortunately, it is no longer what I used to be. Sunday is only buffet, and the variety of items to pick from is very limited. Not even an egg station they have. All there was, were scrambled eggs that looked and tasted made without love or interest. I do not mind paying big if the value of the food/service/ambiance is worth it. In this case, it is no longer so. Bartender Michael is still there, and makes great cocktails (Gin Fizz, for example).

   It was both the most expensive and the worst meal during our trip to San Francisco. The squash soup was enjoyable. My wife had the short ribs, which were better than my fish. Not only was the fish somewhat overcook, the dish had way too many elements. Even the cocktail was underwhelming. We both had white sangria but it tasted like nothing more than white wine with some fruit in it. The dessert was just OK as well. It's a beautiful space, but the food fell short.

    Garden Court’s Afternoon Tea Service was a wonderful experience. Celebrated my daughter’s 25th birthday & she had Champagne Tea Service, @ my husband & I chose the regular Afternoon Tea Service. Our chosen tea flavors were so enjoyable that our tea pots were refilled. The sandwich bites were delicious. And we couldn’t get enough of their bite sized desserts. We were next to a large crowd but we barely noticed their celebration until everyone sang birthday song. We’ll be back.

    We went for afternoon tea. The sandwiches were good but not great, the bread appeared to be a bit stale - I’m assuming these are prepped in the morning so by 1pm they didn’t appear fresh. The desserts and scones were great. Only taking the price point ($120pp) it wasn’t as good as I had hoped. Having been to The Peninsula Beverly Hills which has a similar cost, the food was not on that same level. All is all, good experience but I don’t think I’d be running to come back.

    One of our dishes was not hot and over easy eggs were neatly hard and had to be sent back, the French toast had hardly absorbed any egg. The coffee was lukewarm and the orange juice did not taste as if freshly squeezed. Despite disappointing food, the server Nikki was just great, even as we asked her to change our table, and the complimentary birthday treat was lovely. Of course it’s gorgeous in the Birdcage Room. Go for the surroundings not the food.

    Great experience celebrating my sister's birthday. The services was awesome. We got the 12 pm booking for Sunday and the crowd has died down..Breakfast buffet was okay, but the environment. ambience,and staff made up for it. Only downside was hotel guest parking was full and no street parking. We end up parking at a lot 4 blocks away from restaurants and paying $57 for 4 hours time slot..Overall, we enjoyed it very much. It's such a beautiful hotel!

    We made a 10:30 reservation through open table. When we arrived we noticed the last brunch seating was at 10:00 AM. Most of the buffet was picked over and they were not refreshing food offerings even though I paid the same amount of money as earlier customers had.

    What a beautiful hotel! I was so excited that this was my first stop in SF. I wish I had called ahead because the whole experience was misleading. I thought I had booked us a time for tea when I really selected a lunch for two. The Grand Prix menu was not worth the money. My salad was bitter and my short rib was incredibly bland. I wish their reservation setup was more clear on what you’re booking. Had I known, I would have only come for the tea.

    5 star service, 5 star ambience, 3 star food: 4 star salad, 4 star desserts, 2 star short rib( way too salty, very tough, almost unbeatable, mushroom tasty, collar green good), sea bass very dry and tough to swallow.

    The Garden Court is a very beautiful restaurant. It's quiet and has excellent service. The pricing for a continental breakfast, however, is quite high and not necessarily worth the amount of money for the amount of food one can eat.

    Oh wow. The tea is so overpriced. $90 per person so our bill for our family of 4 was over $400 when all was said and done. The food was good, but it wasn’t a lot. We weren’t full. Should have been about 1/2 the price.

    We expected a bit more hospitality and smile from the waiter who took care of our table. We ordered pastry basket where the items (croissant, pan au chocolate, cake) were not fresh, it was very difficult to eat even with the spreads.

    Poor service and sub-standard on signature tea service- dry bread for sandwiches, tea bags in pot instead of loose leaf tea, dense scones, gel-like fruit preserves. Definitely NOT worth $90pp Only positive - beautiful glass ceiling and architecture of room

    Then Garden Court is a spectacular space in an historic hotel. Enrico Caruso stayed there, Warren G Harding died there. Opened in 1874 it's been though fires and earthquakes. The venue is worthy of 5 stars but the food doesn't measure up to the room with the exception of the pastries. And it's very expensive. As for the rest, I make better at home. But to be fair, at home I have to wash the dishes.

    My friends and I had a lovely time there. Our dining experience is superb from the friendly staff to the great food. We love the festive Christmas decor and the feeling of being in Europe. The noise level is muffled where one can have a good conversation without being irritated. I will definitely recommend this place to my family and friends. We will be back soon.

    The moment you step into the restaurant you're transported to another world, a world of opulence and grandeur. The room is soaked in natural light with an extremely high ceiling. It's definitely a sight to behold. My one advice is to set the right expectations before coming in terms of the dining experience itself. The food is good but not worth the prix fixe cost. The service was enough that I didn't feel neglected. Overall, I would still recommend to pay a visit at least once despite the points mentioned above.

    Holiday price fixe lunch at the stunningly beautiful, elegant Garden Court was truly a festive, classy experience! Only slight suggestion would be to improve the server’s response time. But, over all - WOW! 🎄

    Server forgot the bread/butter. Sea bass was dry, and needed seasoning for taste. Ordered cappuccino and all that I got was whipped cream. Only a small sip of coffee in it. Deserts were ok, but was expecting a little better. Overall, not worth $80.00 per person.
