Detailed menu of delicious varied food. Excellent atmosphere & service.
Loved the meal and the service was amazing! I have been here before, and it never disappoints. There is something on the menu for everyone, their drinks and non-alcoholic drinks are all amazing and so tasty. I think the best part is the food is actually healthy - so even if you order a "heavy" option, you don't walk out feeling gross.
I eat here frequently. Overall it was very good. This visit, the service was a bit below par. But honestly it was not bad service. She forgot a request for an extra side and it was a bit difficult to get her attention. Actually the food for a friend was a bit weird. She had ordered a bowl of soup and it came without any bread or anything, just the bowl of soup. When she asked for bread, the server said, "We don't have any bread but we have toast." Um, I thought that toast IS bread, just toasted? Otherwise, it is a great place to meet up with friends
Amazing as always! The food was great and so was the service!!
Very tasty food. Great for lunch!
Good food if you like that kind of stuff. I’d rather have a burger and fries. But it seems as though others enjoyed the fare
This was a fabulous restaurant with super great food!!!
Will definitely recommend!
Our server was very knowledgeable and accommodating to our food restrictions
Service was good, great healthy meal especially if you're looking for something light. Loved the edamame dumplings, but definitely on the expensive side.
I really want to like True Food Kitchen, but I just don’t think the food and prices are appropriately matched. Truly enjoyed my Sunrise Bowl, and would order it again. The roasted sweet potatoes , pesto, mushrooms, ancient grains and egg was a tasty combo. My dining companion ordered the Mediterranean Chicken Pita, which she enjoyed although the chicken was dry. Neither the kale salad or sweet potato hash adds much. The fresh juice drinks and cocktail we ordered were okay but pricey. So the $60 price tag for 2 means that TFK is not a regular everyday dining option for us.
My wife and I have eaten at True Food several times. I ordered different entrees each time and they have always been very good. The food is relatively simple, slightly unconventional and tasty with a lot of vegetarian and vegan options. The atmosphere is relaxing and pleasant.
Prices are reasonable. I always look forward to eating here.
The food was delicious. I didn't know that Dr. Weil had started this restaurant. The menu is varied and interesting. Very creative preparations.
Love the food here, so many choices for folks who dont eat meat, great drinks, teas...i coukd eat this kind if food every day.
We live in the neighborhood and can always rely on this restaurant for good tasting, healthy food.
Interesting menu choices!
Waitress was lovely!
I like the look of the restaurant and the concept and this was a repeat visit. But this time there was a problem. When ordering a noodle dish I made a point of mentioning I didn't want any onions/scallions in or on the dish. The server asked if it was a "severe" allergy to which I replied no, but I didn't want them. Of course, the dish was brought to the table by someone else (maybe a floor manager) and there were the scallions. I commented on it and was asked what was wrong while I picked scallions off my meal. I'm sure if I would have made a stink it would have been taken away. But I was hungry and didn't want to wait to have it re-made. Our server saw my pile of scallions, apologized, and even said what a labor (sic) it was to place the order. The first person who brought the dish even came by the table on her rounds and removed my napkin of scallions. So--did they try to make up for the mistake? Nope. They could have brought a dessert with an apology, comped two beverages....lots of options. But nothing. Oh yes, how was the food? Good, not great and not that great of a value. It was my second visit and I'm not rushing to go back.
Unfortunately our dining experience at True Food was disappointing. The highlight was the salmon and hot apple jack (though the drink was light on the bourbon). The lowlights were the tacos, burger, and overall service. Our server herself was fine but lacked support.
Too loud. Otherwise I would hurry back. Flexible menu with many vegetarian options.
True Food never disappoints. Food is healthy, creative and delicious. Wait staff is well trained and always attentive. This hold to the multiple locations I have been to in California, Texas, Georgia and the Chicago location. Possibly one of the best multi-unit restaurant brands in the country!
So I love this place, however yesterday the food was mediocre at best. Especially compared to what i am used to. Lets start by saying I was given thr wrong order!! And only because I get the same thing every time did I notice!! My real order arrived shortly after and the Ancient Grains bow with steak was not the same look as i had many times before. The steak has a weird dressing on it, the grains were way too much, there wasnt any snow peas .. just not the same. A bit disappointed but i guess once a place becomes very popular the standards kinda drop
Wonderful meal. Wish we had one in Pittsburgh. Service was great, food choices very good.
The menu was so creative and unique... Plus YUMMY!!
Overall, it did not meet my expectations.
Service was slow, waiter would disappear for long periods of time... and restaurant was not busy.
Food was good, not great. Seems overpriced for the quality. Dessert was the best part, flourless chocolate cake, which was free because we celebrated a birthday.
We’ve enjoyed dining here numerous times and love it. We love the fresh food and seasonal menu changes. Service is very friendly and professional- great staff! True Food Kitchen has become one of our neighborhood favorites!
Super nice staff, but the food was not good. I understand the “pull” of the restaurant- clean and healthy foods- but the taste was not there.
Food and environment was awesome! Was there 4 days ent back 3 times! Breakfast lunch and dinner!
Loved the healthy yummy options!
Loved!! Can’t wait to return and try other offerings on the amazing menu.
The bass was juicy. I'm looking forward to the Moroccan chicken, and the Brussels sprouts can't be beat!
I really liked the non alcohol drinks available. I did not see if gluten free pizza was available, but would like to see that so I could try the pizza.
True Food was fabulous!!!! Our server, Nicole, was very upbeat, helpful, efficient and friendly. I had a lasagna dish that was out of this world. Their chili was very tasty as well.
Outstanding food and atmosphere. Server a little overzealous; actually would’ve been nice to see him a little less often. We felt a little pressured to be finished with our dishes before we were. But he was an excellent server and very nice. This restaurant is a wonderful experience and I cannot wait to go back.
This restaurant is unlike any other in the neighborhood. The food is very healthy and very tasty. I particularly like the Poke Bowl. My only complaint is that the noise level is loud and I feel that it has a lot to do with how the restaurant was built out.
This restaurant has its own special vibe--cool, fun, lively--and great imaginative and healthy food options that are reasonably priced. Wonderful service. Will keep coming back. So glad it's in my neighborhood.
It’s just too much imposed NOISE!
It’s a nice concept- and having frequented same chain in California we knew what to expect. However, this location’s noise level was just way too much! It was too hard to hear, talk, or enjoy pleasant friends. The food is good, the quality good, the service terrific — but must the ambient music be just blaring? Not a comfortable experience. Don’t think we will be returning.
The food was absolutely outstanding, highly recommended. Lots of vegetarian options
Drove from MKE to Chicago to have lunch with our daughters. WOW! True Food Kitchen hit it out of the ball park. We shared a delicious bottle of wine and an appetizer of roasted brussel sprouts. Each of us ordered something different and each dish was delicious and unique. Everything is made from scratch, organic, and the care in preparation was obvious. My choice was a lasagna bolognese (with chicken) -- it was just fabulous. One of us had Mediterranean, one had ramen, and one had Japanese. They nailed each one. Our server was delightful and so was everyone else on staff. Nice atmosphere and very clean. Reasonable prices. Highly recommend. :)
I really like this place. There was a slight issue with my entree and the took care of it. I do feel at prime lunch time they need to have more hands on deck.
Really tasty healthy modern cuisine in creative stylish setting.
Great service and menu options. We’ll definitely go back.
True Food is one of my favorites. With such creative cuisine and high-quality ingredients, I haven't yet gone wrong with their expansive, delicious, and healthy menu. I definitely recommend.
