   Food was poor quality. Calamari was under cooked and mushy. Tartar was under seasoned. Scallops were too salty. Unfortunate because the ambiance is great. The drive was nice. The music was great. Food was just underwhelming.

   The food was outstanding. Our waitress Alex was tremendous. She knew the menu and was very helpful and personable. All the staff was very friendly and accommodating. This is the second time my wife and I have been to Cioppino and we definitely will keep coming back!

   Fantastic meal, celebrated my wife's Birthday. Entertainment and service was over the top. Eric DeFade, Kelly DefaDe and Eric Sousa played fantastic jazz, just a great evening.

   Jazz Trio playing, who were very good. Split a Caesar, which we usually do, and it was very tiny, under-dressed, and full of pieces of toasted bread cubes (not croutons.) My mother got the steak tartare, which was quite good. She also got the mussels, which are described as having roasted garlic butter and truffle frites. There was zero garlic flavor and they were potato straws and not frites. However, the portion was large for the price and they were tasty enough. My husband got the monkfish, which came roasted on the bone, which was not mentioned in the description. It's not a problem for us, but I know that it would be for some people who are grossed out by fishbones. Also: it is very dark and one could easily choke on a bone. The worst of the evening: my scallop pappardelle, described as having a fennel cream, roasted tomato, pistachio "gremolada" . It comes with 2 sea scallops, which were the only decent thing about it, as they were perfectly seared. However, not a hint of fennel in the cream sauce, the tomatoes were halved romas that were skinned and warmed and not roasted and there was zero pistachio "gremolada" . The pappardelle was cooked al dente, but then one could tell that it sat while the tomatoes were then later added (and the "gremolada" wasn't) and then topped with the arugula. Oh, and to say that it was under-seasoned is an *under*-statement: ZERO salt. Note: They were not at all busy. Why didn't we complain? Too cold and tired. Brought the pasta home and "doctored it up", as my late grandmother used to say. No clue why all the great reviews.

   Amazing service. The entire staff went above and beyond to make the experience special. The duck breast and rack of lamb were terrific. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are looking for a special place for a date or celebration.

    Our experience was perfect start to finish. Drew was our waiter. He was impeccable, as were the other folks who were there to refill water, deliver each dish, etc. Their teamwork and attention to detail was unlike any I’ve experienced in quite some time. The food was outstanding also. From the pesto-parm-oil with bread, all the way through to the creme brûlée we had for dessert. I cannot recommend this place enough for both the service and the food. We will surely return.

    Another great meal at Cioppino! Roasted tomato soup, crab cakes and short ribs - ALL delicious and prepared to perfection. Or waitress "Olga" was kind and attentive. We sat in the lounge which can get a little loud - even without the musicians. Thanks Cioppino for a great night out!

    My boyfriend and I went here back in December for my Birthday and we had such an amazing time and were so impressed that I knew I had to take my parents here. It was my moms birthday and from start to finish the whole experience was phenomenal. Our waiter was funny and attentive. In fact, all the workers had a hand with filling drinks taking plates and just in general making sure all our needs were met. The food is top notch and the oysters are always fresh. This is my new favorite restaurant in Pittsburgh!

    I love this restaurant. They have a nice variety on their menu. Great food and nice atmosphere. Great service and friendly upbeat host. I also love that they have live jazz bands. However they did not this weekend due to crowds for Valentines Day. I also love that they have valet parking. I don’t like to walk far when going out to eat especially in the winter. I wear heals. Don’t want to be all dressed up and wear snow boots.

    Was not allowed to make a substitute choice on a side dish. The waiter was not attentive to our table as he was to the table beside us. Food quality overall was not sufficient for what we were paying to receive.

    Fabulous food and service but the noise was deafening . The lack of fabric in the design leaves nothing to absorb sound! Floor to ceiling drapery panels would go a long way towards remediating the noise👍👍

    The quality has decreased and prices increased. No one felt the quality of food was good. Skimped on sauces sides taste and portions. One of those meals you ignore the food since it is so average and focus on friends. Everyone felt the value was not there for a high end restaurant

    Booked this restaurant for my boyfriend's birthday as he loves cigars and whiskey. We were told by our server we could go back to the cigar lounge after dinner. Once in the lounge, we were approached and asked to leave because they had a waiting list. Mind you, the couch where we sat was empty along with several other tables. Baffled, we waited at the concierge stand to inquire further but there was nobody there. Once in the car, I called and spoke to Dylan who advised they were at capacity and couldn't have anyone standing. Again, we were seated when asked to leave. Then, he said that's the policy I don't know what to tell you. We won't be returning. They handled this terribly. There was nobody waiting to get in. We wanted an after dinner cigar and a drink, no food. $250 meal ruined.

    Our server was wonderful and the food was delicious. My husband had the Cioppino and I had the Miso black bass (it was a special). I added the mushrooms that were incredible and my husband added the asparagus which was great and not dripping in butter or oil, so very healthy! Our server was great at answering all of our questions. Only complaint was that the tables for two were too close and you couldn’t help but hear your neighbors conversations.

    We enjoy the live music, cocktails, and ambiance at Cioppino. The service is excellent and very friendly. My husband loved the cigar bar in the back as well where we could watch the NFL game while we enjoyed our cocktails and he smoked his cigar. They do a very good job of keeping the cigar bar separate from the restaurant and regular bar so there is no smoke or smell at all.

    Olga was very pleasant. Presentation and serving of meals were well done. Both the Chilean sea bass and chicken entree’s were completely overpowered by salt. Crab cake and short rib dinners were excellent. Mushroom pappardalle just average. Enjoyed the dinner, but most likely would not return.

    We had a great time….. it wasn’t overly booked/packed…. Staff was excited and pleasant (even on nye) they accommodated a change in our reservation time just hours before our visit! Food was great- a bit over- priced but it is an upscale restaurant- our waitress was beautiful and gave great service! We ordered the steak special it was cooked perfectly! I will be returning for happy hour and entertainment in the summer!
