Beach House Restaurant- Kauai
Our philosophy at the Beach House is simple - take some good old-fashioned Hawaiian hospitality, blend it with a Pacific Rim food experience and add an outstanding view to deliver an experience that delights all the senses. Our talented kitchen team makes the most of local ingredients by sourcing our fish directly from Island fisherman and our beef and coffee from neighboring ranches. We incorporate local fruits and vegetables whenever possible, and delight in being able to find new and innovative ways to use the resources that surround us on the Garden Isle. Our breads, buns, and desserts are all made from scratch in house and we proudly feature the works of renowned local artists throughout the restaurant.
Happy Hour - 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm
Dinner - 4:45 pm to 10:00 pm
Arlin was an excellent host! Very welcoming, warm and knowledgeable host. The food was absolutely delicious!
This restaurant is a bit tired. The food is really average, the inside needs updating... the only redeeming item was our server was great and the view was outstanding.
Birthday celebration, Great food and service; incredible sunset view.
Fantastic restaurant, especially if at sunset. Not a bad seat in the house, but if you can, reserve a seat closest to the window or open doors.
Great food. I would have liked to try everything on the menu. Very reasonably priced as well.
If we ever come back to Kauai, we’ll be sure to eat here again!
Best pies and truffle fries!
Popular ocean side restaurant with large open windows to the beach.
Diverse menu with well prepared food and drinks.
Great atmosphere, great cocktails. Food was delicious. Loved the green beans and daily catch. My cocktail was phenomenal. Highly recommend.
We had an amazing experience! We were celebrating an engagement.
Beautiful view of the sunset. Excellent job by the kitchen in altering a menu item to make it vegetarian.
Everything was great. Service could have been a little but better. Also choices for desserts were limited.
My husband and I visited the Beach House for our honeymoon dinner. We reserved a table as early as possible to make sure we got a seat. We had a drink at the bar while we waited for the table which was so quick we barely got to order before we were seated! Our waiter, Seth, was fantastic. He was unbelievably friendly and patient as we mulled over the menu. The Mai Tais were phenomenal and we ordered 3 appetizers! Would recommend the Szechwan beans! The view at sunset was gorgeous and everyone was very relaxed with guests getting up to go outside for photos. Our entrees were delicious. The ahi tuna was fresh and perfect. We finished the evening with banana pie and left so full. I would definitely recommend eating here and Seth really knocked the experience out of the park. He was the cherry on top!
Beautiful location right on the water to catch the sunset. The food was absolutely amazing! Such fresh fish!
Our expectations may have been too high after reading blog reviews and several personal recommendations. The setting is beautiful, especially on a night with a clear sunset. Inventive cocktails and large wine selection. Food is okay. Filet wasn’t the high quality cut we were expecting and everything else involved a lot of butter. Service was friendly, but not as polished as we expected for the price. Again, our expectations might have just been too high.
Delicious food on the beach with amazing sunset views.
You cant beat the location especially if you get a waterside table. The staffwere very good except our server shirt was really slopped on and dirty.... a little off putting.
Our food was good.... not fantastic. I had goat cheese / arugala salad with a shrimp add on. For $10 add i expected to get more than 3 shrimp which were also very salty.
Having had dinner there several times I believe its popularity has diminished the quality of the dining experience. Food, service and view terrific but when the noise level is so high you can barely hear your table partner there is a problem. One goes to an expensive restaurant such as this for dining experience. The noise level seriously interfered with my evening
Always consistent. Always good service.
We first visited the Beach House restaurant 31 years ago on our honeymoon. It was fabulous then and once again, did not disappoint! The view, the service, the food and the ambience was incredible. We will continue to visit this exceptional restaurant every time we are on Kauai.
This place is unbelievable!! An absolute must do on Kauai!!
Drinks were watered down. Everything else was excellent. Still one of our favorite places.
We have loved this restaurant and have had dinner there twice this week. But, while the view is wonderful the food has not been as good as previous visits. We ate here in May and February of this year, so the comparison is based on fairly recent experiences that were notably better.
The restaurant does have nice views, but also with the views, comes immense sunlight. It is very hot. The restaurant has poor air circulation. They should try to increase air flow or turn on some AC. For the price you pay, you shouldn’t have to be sweating for your entire meal. The service was also mediocre for the price. You get better service at the local spots win native Hawaiians. Food was average. The only thing that was worth it was the beach scenery. The restaurant interior also felt outdated.
Great views. Good food and service.
We really like Beach House. Been there twice on our trips now, and the food is good, the staff are super fun and friendly, and the view cannot be beat.
Went there for the sunset view but didn’t expect the number of small beach flies on the menus, our glasses, arms and eyeglasses. The waiter even brought an extra coaster to cover our drinks so they wouldn’t crawl in. Two tables next to us left unhappy. Our waiter was kind and by the time our food arrived the flies had subsided. The food was fine but not great.
Mediocre food with standard unvarnished service with a killer view. Overpriced. Go for drinks, then go elsewhere for dinner.
My wife and I went to Beach House for our first anniversary dinner. It certainly did not disappoint! The food was some of the best we've ever had and the view was just incredible at sunset.
Amazing experience. Great views and even better food!
Our group of 4 debated about where to eat on our last night in Hawaii. The Beach House fulfilled our expectations completely. We were seated promptly at the time of our reservation. The service was very attentive and our waitress explained the fish and menu options easily. Our food was excellent, starting with their Mai Tai and finishing with the pie for dessert!
This was our second trip to Beach House. We were staying at Kuhio Shores last year and decided to try it as it showed up a great on Yelp. We couldn't have been happier with the service and the food. So when we took my Mother-In-Law to Kauai we couldn't pass up another chance to try more items.
We started with the Lobster deviled eggs which were above the norm for a 3-4 star restaurant. I then had the Fish stew. It came with multiple types of fish and shellfish in a thick broth. The curry added a little spice but not enough to scare the average person off. My Mother in Law had the Sea Bass which she liked immensely. My wife also had a fish dish that I'm not sure what it was due to the fact that she finished it quickly, usually a sign that someone loved their dinner.
Service was great and the prices were affordable for a restaurant of that caliber in that location.
We were celebrating and it was our last night on Kauai. We sat in the bar and canceled our table because our view was so beautiful. The Mai Tais were soooooo good. The view was unbelievable. Our waiter was Warren and he was great. Unfortunately our food didn’t measure up to the prices. I ordered the grilled catch of the day mainly because it was healthy and it came with Parmesan polenta. The polenta was the star of the dish. The fish was tasteless and way overdone. My husband had the pork and said the taste was good but really dry and overdone. (And he never complains). We did not say anything to our waiter because it was such a happy night and we didn’t feel like complaining. We did leave a comment card so the kitchen would know. Very expensive (which we wouldn’t have minded) for so so food.
Food, service and atmosphere are incredible. We started with drinks at the bar. Amazing cocktails and even better service. David our bartender was fun and friendly. This is the best place we've found to watch the sunset.
As far as dinner goes one of the best meals I've ever had. I got the Ahi and my wife got the wasabi buttered fresh fish. Both were outstanding. We'll definitely be coming back. Overall phenomenal experience.
Seth was an amazing server. Pleasant! He made our dining experience even more enjoyable by telling us the specials, accommodating our requests and taking our picture at sunset!!
Server was great, food was pretty good. Hostesses were terrible. View of the sunset is unmatched. But be advised, if the hostess actually seats you within view of the sunset (unfortunately, we were not, despite booking a reservation 2 months prior to our trip to Kauai) that’s what you’re there for. Not much else.
We were a group of seven ladies and everyone enjoyed the food, ambiance and the Mai Tai’s!!
I had been to the Beach House before and it does not disappoint...too much. We arrived early and were seated early. Ordered a drink and our bread and the appetizer arrived before the drinks. Then our server wanted to take our dinner order right away. We resisted. Cocktail was good but a little weak. Lobster deviled eggs were delicious, but there was some shell stuck to one. Dessert menu is currently limited to cream pies or sorbet. Apparently that will soon change. Otherwise all as expected, sunset view is great (biting gnats, wear sleeves/slacks or wear repellent).
Great food! Beautiful sunset!
We went for dinner to celebrate our anniversary, and our last night on Kauai. The sunset view is unbeatable, the food was excellent, and the service was great.
Our cocktails were delicious. The waitstaff was perfect. Beautiful setting on the beach. Best place for sunset on the south shore!
Spectacular view and really excellent food - comparable to the best in NYC or SF. Professional chef. Unfortunately wait staff amateurs. Meal was rushed (everything came too fast, and it wasn't that they were busy), they failed to put in the appetizer order for one of us, and the entrees didn't come out together.
