First time at Seastar. Food was excellent and the portions were perfect (as opposed to many restaurants having small portions of the fish or meat on a huge pile of rice or potatoes). Service was great and most importantly the birthday girl was happy (thanks for the birthday desert!)

We found a very load environment on a Monday night, despite asking for a quiet table. Took 3 attempts to get bread delivered, it eventually arrived late. My parking ticket was validated, but was replaced with a ticket from someone who arrived long before I did, so that the 3 hour validation did not work, and I had to pay to exit the parking lot. Food was as good as ever, 20% service charge for 6 people, regardless of level of service. not cheap, and service indifferent, but was open on a Monday night. understand the limitations, and enjoy the food

Service was outstanding. Beautiful ambience, table and room. Food was average and a bit of a let down in comparison to the service and atmosphere. I don't mind paying elevated prices when the food is top shelf but most of our dishes were a miss. Salmon was dry, Seafood Tower had one tasty appetizer but for $71 it was 3 bites of food each. Charred broccoli was the best dish.

The most overrated and overpriced restaurant in the Seattle area. The food was beyond bland and overcooked. My wife had the salmon and I had the halibut. We had a salad to share as an appetizer which was good (blue cheese something) and also an order of fries that tasted like…fries. I am not sure why the ratings are so high here as I have been to many restaurants with better food and for a lot less money. Maybe it was just an off night for the crew, but I will not be returning. $200+ for mediocre food is never a good thing.

Beautiful restaurant, staff was good. Happy hour food was really good and a decent value. Entrees were extremely over priced for the quality. We returned one entree back to the kitchen because the Steak was so tough we could not saw through it to even taste it. Potatoes were well seasoned but to thin and ran all over my plate. My entree was barely warm and Salmon not seasoned well. $343.00 for 3 people. The 20% house service charge along with the 20% we gave the server raised the bill by $104.00!

Underwhelming on all accounts. The 20% service fee was a slap in the face considering less than 15% of it goes to the server and the food would have been better at Applebee's. The soup appetizer was the only good thing about the experience. Had to ask for bread service. Steak was way too tough for Wagyu at medium-rare temperature. Music was way too loud considering the amount of tables sat at the time. The price of the food considering its quality was insulting. Will never pay full price for this restaurant again, if we ever return.

The service was excellent and the food was well prepared. Well seasoned, flavorful and good size portions. 1st night i had the Ahi poke bowl, fresh tuna, well seasoned and tasty. The tuna was fresh. Next was the Hot & Sour soup, being from the east coast, it was a different version but very well prepare. It reminded of a Hot & Sour leek soup. Lastly that evening was the octopus, it was well prepared but portions of it was dry. The Panna Cotta was excellent, perfect dessert to wrap up the evening. With fresh fruit and sauce. 2nd night, i had the tuna roll, again fresh and flavorful. Great appy. For dinner i had the Steelhead salmon that was prepared over a mashed potato cake and esperagus. The sauce was great (chili cream) but the steelhead was to die for. Moist, medium rare on the center and just delicious with every bit. Thanks for the recommendation Steve.

Often times I go out for a special celebration and at times the restaurant does not meet expectations. I have been going To Seastar for 23 years (my office was in that building when it opened) and I have to say I have NEVER had a bad meal or experience at Seastar or any John Howie restaurant. I cannot say this about any other restaurant in Bellevue/Seattle. Thank you for maintaining your service standards. A lot of times when you add the gratuity you eliminate the incentive to offer good service. Not at your restaurant and you can tell all staff are working to help all the customers.
