Always a good experience and great lunch value at The District.
Got greens and burger. The latter cooked right for medium well. Meat well seasoned.
Blue cheese dressing lacked the taste you'd expect but was ok.
Nice ambience as it was an outlet at the Sheraton.
Overall good and it was a short walk from the convention center.
Excellent ambiance coupled with immediate seating and deliteful cuisine make this an excellent dining experience. I went in with no expectations, but was impressed by the waitress and staff members in general. I would recommend this place to friends.
The $9.00 menu for lunch is a great deal! And the food is good too.
Nice decor and ambiance. Good value with $22 menu offerings. We received excellent service without being hovered over. The perfect place to go, specially if you’re seeing a show downtown.
Food was good, portions were just right.
Went before our Symphony concert. Will be returning. Lovely environment and great food. We had mesquite chicken and short ribs. Both were excellent. Fresh, hot, very enjoyable and well presented. Extensive wine list for bottles but glasses were too dominated by California selections. They did have a great Washington Malbec though.
District is the best place to eat before an event at Symphony Hall. Good menu choices and reasonable prices.
Our first at the District. The look is great, the food was very good. The only issue we had was a snooty hostess who was visibly, not verbally, miffed that we requested to be re- seated away from kitchen door in a 1/2 full restaurant. Great place we'll come back.
I was surprised by how good the food was since a lot of hotel-associated restaurants in the US are not that great. This was very good. The service was excellent and I enjoyed sitting on the outdoor patio too. Had the chef's special, which delicious and the bacon wrapped dates that were also yummy. Two thumbs up!
We were overwhelming surprised at the food, ambiance, overall pricing and service. Would definitely return again.
Service was poor.. Poorly trained/inexperienced staff. Waiter opened our bottle of wine (struggling until he realized it had s cork) then dumped it all into our 4 glasses before we could stop him.
Pacific Halibut was approximately 2 ounces and cooked to death
In the hotel for convention, didn’t feel the need to go search for a “destination” restaurant. Surprised and pleased to find a gem right here in the hotel.
Easy to reserve-line busy, directed to Open Table, no problem. Had 3 dinners, and for each, seated right on time. Restaurant busy but not overcrowded. Service excellent(thank you, Ryan).
Decent wine list, many available by the glass. Small but varied list of craft beers (according to beer drinker in the party)
Meals were as advertised-American comfort food with an imaginative twist. (Arizona Benedict!) We had both standard menu choices and nightly specials, and none disappointed. Food was well-cooked and attractively presented, with generous portions. The menu isn’t huge, but there’s something for everyone, even vegan. I made a point to order items that were mentioned in website recommendations. They were correct.
Warm rolls and butter are brought immediately with water. The only item we didn’t like was the butter-it has honey or syrup in it. Sorry, sweet stuff on bread belongs at breakfast, not dinner.
Prices are reasonable for a large metropolitan hotel restaurant. Nightly special is priced close to standard menu items.
The noise level is a bit high if the restaurant is busy (there is an adjoining bar that also serves food), but there is outdoor seating if weather allows.
Overall, this restaurant is an excellent choice for hotel guests who don’t want to run all over looking for a meal. It’s also a good choice to come in for a date or other special occasion.
I'm surprised the only mashed potatoes you can get are sweet potatoes. You should be able to get mashed potatoes IMO. And the cotton candy at the end was weird. I could understand it if you had kids at the table but none of the adults want to get their fingers sticky, and it was an adult dinner. The service was great and thevdinners were good but not anything I would go back for. I think this would be a great place for a business-type lunch but not for a romantic dinner. There were lots of families there (could have been because of downtown events or that it is the restaurant in a hotel). It's a decent place but I would only go back for business lunches.
The $22 menu is an excellent option for people on an expense account who wish to "stay in" for dinner.
I had the catfish and it was very tasty. My dining companions had the smoked chicken and the salmon. They enjoyed their meals.
Nice dining experience. Nothing over the top but food portions and flavor were better than average.
District never disappoints with food choices or quality. Nice cocktails and wines as well. Their $22 entree options at dinner are a great value or you can choose more expensive delicious specialties. Always a favorite before a city event.
Glad we chose District American for My wife's birthday dinner.Very good menu selection, great bar offerings and seating was much better than the normal booths in a row found at many restaurants. Service was timely for us to attend the Herberger after.
The chef always creates truly memorable dishes. Very delicious and fresh!
I went with several friends for restaurant week. The service and food were outstanding as well as the value! We received a three course meal with wine for $33.00 dollars!!
Great location near the convention center and many theaters that is why we dined there. The cotton candy at the end of our meal was a big hit with our daughter.
A disappointing experience. We waited 30 minutes to be seated for our reservation because they didn’t have enough menus. The service was absurdly slow. The food was lackluster, sloppily presented, and it seemed as though they were possibly running out of ingredients for the dishes. Our table had a variety of cocktails which were acceptable but forgettable. Overall, didn’t live up to the hype, and won’t be going back.
Great deal during Arizona Restaurant Week. Well thought out and executed menus.
Great experience! Our server was very helpful and knowledgeable. The food also good. Will be back.
A nice place to eat before a Diamondbacks game. Good food and an easy walk to the stadium.
Had lunch on a weekday and the food was amazing and the price was even better ( $9 per plate) I got salmon and hubby got the beef tacos and they were both really good. We were going to have dessert but they brought us the check before we could even ask so we went somewhere else for that
My wife and I were in Phoenix celebrating our 33rd anniversary. We looked online for a nearby nice restaurant, and luckily found District. The food was excellent, and the "$22 for you" menu made it reasonable. I had the Kurobuta Pork Chops, and my wife had the Cedar Roasted Salmon. Both were fantastic!
Our only disappointment was the "Black Forest Cheesecake" we ordered to go for dessert. That was not a nice piece of cheesecake as we had expected - it was just like a pre-packaged bundt-style cake that is available at many restaurants. We were severely disappointed.
Food was great, service was decent and the dining area was very nice.
Night wife my beautiful wife
District does a consistent job of making great dishes, attentive service, great cocktails. Not your average hotel restaurant!
Was in town for business and wanted a good meal with a nice glass of wine. The District was perfect!!! Our server Ryan was awesome
My daughters and I had dinner at the District. All of our dinners were over-cooked. Very sad since the menu looked great. Plates looked great when they came out, but chicken was dry & hard & pork chop was the same. 😵
Food was good. Manager was rude. Instead of trying to maje things better she blamed everyone else (including us). She is the reason i wont be going back.
Well prepared meals, quick service. Several Reasonable priced wines by the bottle. Very nice server, will return again, a great place for a pre-concert dinner. Excellent cocktails too!
Attending Mary Poppins at the Herberger Theatre.
Everything was wonderful.
The food at District is so delicious! My husband had the short rib and I had the cedar plank salmon! Just scrumptious! We love District!
Great food at great lunchtime prices!
I found this place while searching for a good firt date restaurant. The food was outstanding.
Short ribs were fantastic, spectacular desserts. Many gluten free options, definitely going back.
