Moonstone Grill, a Trinidadian mainstay, serves fresh seafood and other classic American eats in its beautiful, beachside location. For starters, plates like the crab cakes with sriracha aioli and the lobster wontons with garlic cream make you realize how Moonstone Grill appreciates and respects the local produce and catch. Popular entrée items include the grilled angus ribeye with gorgonzola compound butter, the oven roasted game hen with mushrooms and the wild Alaskan halibut with curry pearl pasta. Moonstone Grill was an excellent place to celebrate our 28th anniversary. The Caesar salad was excellent. We tried the pot stickers (new to the menu) and were not disappointed. Flavorful, not-to-spicy spicy sauce was key. The tri tip was light and yummy. The Apple galette was delectable. Would highly recommend this beachside lovely location.

We walked in at the last minute, so the only table available was by the service stations, so it was very noisy. Our server was terrific and helped us promptly. Both my wife and I got the tri tip, which was delicious, but the asparagus was overcooked and the tortellini was gelatinous. The appetizers were fine. Trip Advisor rated this No. 3 in Trinidad. Heaven help anyone who eats at No. 10.

Highly overrated. We came here based on the reviews, and when we left we were wondering if we had been to the right place. Very disappointing. The best pasrt of our meal was the appetizer - octopus from the small plates menu. It was tender and the sauce complimented the octopus well. For entrees we had the salmon and cioppino. The salmon was unremarkable. The cioppino - The sauce was flavorful and had a little "kick" to it. The 4 slices of baguette were toasted and stood up to sauce. The sauce covered the seafood in the dish, which contained 1 scallop, 3 medium shrimp, 2 small pieces of fish (I couldn't determine what kind of fish, but I'm sure it wasn't halibut or rock cod), pieces of crab dispersed throughout the sauce, and 6 of the smallest manila clams I have ever seen. Our dessert was creme brulee, which was very good. The ocean view is wonderful of course. There is no ambience in the dining room. Our server did his job, but this was clearly transactional for him and he did not attempt any interaction with us.

We visited both for happy hour and for dinner. Both times our servers were attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. Prices were reasonable for the view and portions were generous. We much prefer Rock fish to Cod in fish and chips, and we found the clam chowder different but delicious. (Less creamy than most, had tomatoes in addition to the usual ingredients. They were happy to provide a sample.) Caesar salad had anchovy, which I always prefer. Bar area had two high tables with a great view, and the happy hour menu had several great options. We enjoyed the sliders, fish tacos and smoked salmon crustini. The crustini was tasty but small for the price. The others were nicely portioned. Their fries are really good, too!

Food was ok, but the prices were outrageous! Two tiny little crab cakes for $33, that’s pathetic! $18 dollars for a salad that is just lettuce and some Parmesan, horrible!

We loved Moonstone, except we were seated us across from the staff service area. Very unsitely to look at for half our group and noisy as they worked. At the very least a pull down screen to block the view is needed. The staff was great and professional. They food was excellent. The view to the ocean gorgeous.

The scenery was beautiful, however the food was less than appealing. Clam chowder tasted like it was from a can. The meal my partner had was ok, but my entree lacked flavor and smelt fishy….the waitress was accommodating, but we still paid a ridiculous price for a single entree and a glass of wine. I wouldn’t come back if we visited again.
