Campisi's Downtown is owned and operated by David Campisi and his family. The restaurant has a long and storied history, beginning in 1946 when David's great-grandfather bought a bar with a small kitchen and began making pizzas - the first ever in Dallas. Today, Campisi's Downtown still makes its famous pizza (you can even build your own if you like), and also serves up a huge array of pasta dishes, salads, appetizers and entrées. For dessert, try the tiramisu or Italian cream cake. There's something for every taste at Campisi's downtown, so bring the family and enjoy delicious beef, veal, chicken and seafood dishes (and pizza!) all made in the traditional Italian style.

So overall, that the sauce on the pasta was incredible one of the best I’ve ever had. And I am Italian so I know good sauce. Unfortunately, we asked for our pasta Al Dante. He looked at us like we were from another country. I had explained to him what it was and he said oh sure, no problem. Five minutes later we had our pasta and of course it was overdone. They didn’t tell us what kind of pasta it was, and it was very thin noodles which we don’t care for, but he never mentioned it. We asked for the garlic toast and we did not ask for extra cheese on it which we were charged what we ended up with was six small pieces of cheese toast, which were not good. They were very heavy and filling, and we could not taste garlic at all and normally we cook heavily with garlic in our family so I can tell. The waiter was nice, but he was very flipant. he did not have good eye contact him several times turned away from us at the table to attend to something else while we were trying to get a question answered. The salad dressing was good unfortunately it was sitting in about a half inch of salad dressing for who knows how long so it was like marinated lettuce. It would’ve been great if they didn’t do that. The lasagna and ravioli were excellent. We normally leave a very good tip but did not tonight because we feel that that sends a message to the person rather than confronting them directly with our displeasure. We will go back there again, but we would be more specific in our request knowing what we might get if we didn’t. Also, we noticed there was a beautiful outdoor seating area, never suggested

Food was good unfortunately we had a new server. He was trying his best but didn’t know how to open a bottle of wine. My husband had to open it. It was very crowded due to an event in town and they were having issues honoring reservations on time.

We were in town from Kansas City for volleyball nationals. We had a large group of around 30. The staff was friendly and met our every need. We were very appreciative of the ability to accommodate our large group. Thank you to the staff for a great experience!

OpenTable let me make a reservation for 9PM at the resturant. As we are heading there our GPS informed us they closed at 9 according to Google. I reached out to the resturant and they confirmed they closed at nine and was completly unawear of how it allowed us to make that reservation. She said that she would take to the cheif about allowing us to sill come, despite arriving after close. She said she would call us back but we never received a call. Thankfully, we had been recommended to another resturant for that night, Bellini's Italian Cafe, and still had a wonderful meal there. I just wish I had still recived that call back letting us know on way or the other.

My wife and I had dinner at Campisi’s last night for our anniversary before heading to a show — and it was absolutely perfect. It was her first time there, and she couldn’t have been happier with the entire experience. The food was incredible — full of flavor, generous portions, and served hot and fresh. From start to finish, the atmosphere felt welcoming and relaxed, and it made our evening feel extra special. Our waitress Amy was fantastic — super friendly, attentive, and just added to the overall great vibe of the place. We’ll definitely be coming back. Thanks, Campisi’s, for making our anniversary dinner one to remember!

We visited Campisi's downtown for my daughters graduation dinner. We had a large party and had a reservation got 7:45pm. We arrived early and were seated promptly. We did have a large party. Our server Corey introduced himself fairly quickly. We sat down at 745, by 830 We STILL had not ordered our food. The service was so slow and disorganized. Not sure if he was new or what but instead of taking all of the drink orders he went and got each fountain drink one by one. The drink and appetizer ordering process took nearly 45 min. Once we ordered finally, the food came out quickly, which tells me the kitchen was in order. Once we were done it took him nearly another 45 min to get our checks. He needed help and I feel like the manager should have assigned another server to assist him. Some people decided not to order an entree because it took so long to put the order in. By the end of the night, what should have been a celebration, turned into a night where our entire party was completely frustrated and ready to leave. We were exhausted. This was easily the worst service I have received in a very long time. And dont even get me started on the parking situation!
